    I have Littmann stethoscope with chest piece that have adult and paediatric diaphragms. The way you can know which diaphragm is open - there is a dot, whichever diaphragm is facing the dot that one is open.

    Hey! Thanks for your video. I am a first year DO student, and I have never used a stethoscope before. I never did EMT,paramedic things,etc. Today I had lab and our stethoscopes weren't at the bookstore yet, so it was really frustrating. I will get more practice throughout the course though. I know you said for B.P. the bell is closed, but what about listening to the heart?

    • @mirella5685
      @mirella5685 2 года назад

      we use the big bell for that :) except for babies or smaller people in general - for those we use the small bell

    Could you do a video on listening to heart landmarks I.e. Aortic, tricuspid, mitral, Erbs, apical. Taking apical pulse. Murmurs/S3, S4?

      AllHallowsEve123 I'm not sure how i can make a video on the landmarks, since i don't have a model who is willing to volunteer lol, but here is a link that explains the landmarks that can help you, and apical pulse is taken is on the Apex of all the landmarks. Some people count the pulse for 15 seconds and multiply by 4, but usually that isn't very accurate due to changes in the speed among other things. atitesting.com/ati_next_gen/skillsmodules/content/physical-assessment-adult/equipment/cardiac.html. let me know if this helped
      Here is a place that you can go to, to help you listen to some heart sounds and lungs sounds solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_EU/3M-Littmann-EMEA/stethoscope/littmann-learning-institute/heart-lung-sounds/heart-lung-sound-library/ i hope this helps

    So I sell Origami Owl living lockets. I have a Stick It Locket that I have customers (nurses) asking if it'd be sanitary to place this on their stethoscope.. It's 30mm round has Swarovski crystals and can be personalized with charms inside the locket. What do you think?

    Opened and closed bell was super helpful but that was a lot of explanation on how to insert them in your ears. If someone can't get their head around that... Perhaps they're not cut out for a profession that requires a stethoscope.

    Hey I bought a littman classic two se stethoscope and I noticed I have some difficulty switching from the bell and diaphragm,i noticed yours seems easy coz it is right and left while mine is unpredictable until I hear the clicking sound.

      +thilanka gunarathna
      The Classic II would be a good one because it's not too heavy, but you would probably benefit more from a cardiac one that is double sided with a pediatric side and a side like this classic II they are about $120 ish, they are slightly heavier but they are really good quality
