A PSA for those with Flowzone Cyclone sprayers: make sure the last two numbers are 06, not 04 as listed in the video. Those two numbers refer to the size of the orifice and 04 is too small and will burn out your pump. I recently got a new pump from Flowzone, under warranty, and one of the questions they asked was what tip I was using. I told them the XR11004VS and they said the tip was too small. You want an XR11006. I can't speak for what other sprayers need, but I appreciated Flowzone's understanding and told them I'd do my best to spread the word- so here I am spreading it.
@@vio0633 i've always run my cyclone on setting 3. i don't know enough about the pump to be able to say whether or not that affects it, but it certainly could be a contributing factor. i looked after having spoken to the rep at FZ to see if I could find any documentation where they stated to use an "06" but didn't come across anything. like i said, I just wanted to pass on the word because it was easy enough and could save some headaches for users and costs for a company that handled my issue well. having switched to the 06 and spraying a few times since, it looks/feels the exact same to me but i haven't run into any pump issues.

Don't forget that the Teejet nozzles come in different colors for different flow rates. I find that the *red* nozzles put out almost 2 gal per 1000sqft at my comfortable walk pace, instead of increasing my pace considerably, I switched to a yellow nozzle with the same spray pattern which gives about half the flow rate and comes out much closer to 1 gal per 1000sqft.
It just depends on your walking pace and the pressure of your sprayer. The red TeeJet nozzles at 70 psi, put out fluid at much lower rates than the nozzles the sprayer comes with. Great feedback sir. Appreciate you chiming in.
If you have a manual pump up sprayer, a constant flow valve is a great investment as well for about 20$. It keeps the pressure regulated so you're always spraying at the same pressure, thus making your application more consistent. It will shut off once the pressure drops below the valve psi rating. Electric sprayers typically spray at a constant pressure so this is more useful for pump up sprayers.
Greetings from Denmark! Great video Ron, i am most definitely jealous about the equipment you guys have at your disposal in your country, stuff like that is much harder/more costly to come by in scandinavia. Thanks for the video nevertheless 👍🌱
Outstanding video Ron. Hi Progression. You'll use the red spray tip for foliar products and the white FloodJet tip for products designed to get into the soil. So pre-emergent, fungicide and insecticides, white tip, everything else red.
I have been waiting for someone to do a more advanced nozzle option video for the community. I'm not going to sugar coat this, I cringe when I watch people use the tips that come with the back pack sprayers. The tips that come with then are simply pressure washer tips. I would have liked to see you take it a step further and explain how pressure can also affect the droplet size. Anyway, a great video to get people applying products properly.
Thanks for the feedback Dan. I considered going into calibration and pressures but a lot of that is covered in the video at the end of this one. Didn't want to make the video overly long. Appreciate you watching.
Great video Ron, I purchased both of these last year to use with my Ryobi battery backpack and both do an excellent job .. Thanks for the informative and to the point videos..Have a great day !

Thanks for doing this video Ron! I purchased both of those TeeJet tips in the video as well as some others including the XR110001VS for a very fine mist at higher pressures. I wanted to see how that worked with the Pest Control as well. I was able to find them at Sprayer Depot for $5 each.
Really liked the video. I'm assuming you want to use the fine mist sprayer with iron/nitrogen fertilizer and post emergents, and use the bigger droplet sprayer with soil enriching fertilizers and pre emergents?

Great video as always Ron.. Btw, I have 2x of the Chapin 20v Sprayer. Which upgraded fan tip do you recommend, and is there a recommend metal wand for that sprayer as well?
These videos are great! Any advice or content with mesh check valves to go along with the TeeJet nozzles? Just ordered some XR Nozzles and got the 50 mesh 5psi check valve ($4). Idea is to hopefully prevent excess dripping after releasing the handle when applying professional grade herbicide such as Certainty and Celsius.
Hi Trey. I’ve not used the check valves before. I don’t notice issues with product dripping from the nozzle when I stop spraying. I can see a check valve could be useful though.
The quick connect in the description, does that include the angled black piece? I’m looking for the whole setup. Were can I pick a sixteen hundred shirt? Great video.
Hi Ron. Yes it does. The adapter includes everything between the end cap and quick connect fitting. The shirt was a gift from a viewer. Will have to see about making them available on the store. My other/similar merch is available here: ruclips.net/user/ronhenrystore Thanks for watching sir.
I'll be spraying Sedgehammer next week with my Ryobi Cordless Backback sprayer. I'm assuming the TeeJet XR11004VS is what I want in this case? Thanks in advance!
Is it possible to upgrade the standard wands to accept the quick connect type nozzles? The constant screwing and unscrewing of the nozzle tips gets annoying pretty quick. Can you put out a video showing how?
Looking at the wand on my Chapin, I don't believe this would be easy to do. If you're going to try this, it would be easiest to swap the entire trigger and wand. I'm not sure where you'd even get one. Likely easier to just buy a sprayer that already has the quick connect system.
@@RonHenry Great video, Ron! Like others wrote, you present the facts without any fluff. I upgraded my Solo Comfort 475 manual backpack sprayer so I could use the TeeJet tips, specifically with the quick connect cap, and get rid of the bendy plastic wand. As you suggested, using the quick connect cap requires a new setup, but I am glad I did this. The plastic wand that came with the sprayer is now in the recycling bin, and I can easily change the TeeJet tips as required for the product I'm spraying. TeeJet offers many versions of the quick connect caps, but I recommend the 114445A series because these have a round hole for the tip. The other versions have shaped holes for the tips that lock them into place and they cannot be rotated to adjust the spray pattern.
i see the nozzle tip information but what spray elbow model are you using? looking to mimic your setup as i have a similar green sprayer tip as the one on the flowzone

I receive my flowzone cyclone in a couple of days and ordered the AIXR11004VP for my preemergents based on your recommendation. Do I use that nozzle for postemergents as well, such as MSMA? Sorry. Im new to this. The local store recommended I use MSMA for postemergent. Also, do I need to order the quick connect adapter for my flow zone? I'm trying to get everything ready. Thank you for all the info. Your videos are a huge help!
Unless you’re spraying commercial properties, you shouldn’t be using MSMA. It’s no longer labeled for use on residential lawns. You will need a quick connect adapter unless flowzone is now including them. When I got mine years ago, it wasn’t included.
@Ron Henry got ya. Im not sure why they recommended target 6 but do you recommend a safe post emergent for bermuda? I have every weed imaginable including Dallisgrass. Using Prodiamine for Preemergent but not sure about post. Thanks again and thank you for the heads up about msma
They're pretty much sold out everywhere Eric. If you're in the market for a great sprayer, I'd go with this one: ron-henry.com/backpacksprayer It's basically a Flowzone but comes with TeeJet tips already included. I have a review coming out for it soon.
Hi Ron, do you vary your pressure on the backpack sprayer? I’m just getting into spraying so I want to make sure my calibration is correct. Thanks (also Ron)
No I don't. 90% of the time I run on the lower pressure setting. The only time I switch to high is if I'm spraying fungicide since the label calls for 2 gallons per 1000 square feet vs 1 gallon per square feet for most other products.
Hey Ron, what tip would you recommend for lawn paint application? I have a Scotts 190567 Lithium-Ion Battery Powered Pump Zero Technology Sprayer which I'm hoping to use for this kind of application.

The sprayer comes with it. golfcourselawn.store/products/yard-mastery-4-gallon-backpack-sprayer It works great. No issue with running products of all kinds through it.
@RonHenry Nice, I have one of those ryobi battery powered backpack sprayers (mainly because of all the ryobi battery powered tools I have already) and the way it's designed it'll leave almost ¾ of a gallon of product in the bottom of it. Been looking to replace it for awhile now because of that terrible design.
@@Draega007 Gotcha. I can see the convenience of using the same battery. The sprayer I linked above is awesome though. Doesn't leave a bunch of product at the bottom, comes with various spray tips for applying lawn products and is built like a tank. You won't replace it anytime soon.

Thanks
I'm not sure if the tips can be swapped into the Ryobi sprayer Eric. It's swappable into most sprayers so it should be ok. I've just never tested it to be able to say for sure. There's no issue with spraying Tenacity and Speedzone through either tip. Hope this helps.
Ron, I just checked the two Tee Jet red nozzle tips that came with my new Yard Mastery sprayer. The numbers on them are both 110 04 VP. Hoping you can help with my Teejets! Is an O ring required to be used? You use one, but my Flowzone Cyclone 2.5 didn’t have any with their nozzles and the Teejet I ordered didn’t come with one. Do the Teejet caps come with O rings?
Not necessarily Ben. The o-ring does help with sealing but if your cap is in good shape you shouldn't experience leaking issues. Your existing nozzle might have an o-ring that can be reused. Hope this helps. Appreciate you watching.
I have done a little research and noticed that there is a "vp" version of XR11004. Is there any difference between the two tips other than the "vp" version being plastic and the "vs" version being stainless steel?
I believe that's the only differences K McClanahan. Plastic vs. Steel. I opted for steel since it should last longer than the plastic version. Great comment.

I have two of those custom 1600 shirts....only mine say "One Thousand" (cuz I have a GM1000). The guy that makes them is superb. 👌
Nice
I'll be spraying Sedgehammer next week with my Ryobi Cordless Backback sprayer. I'm assuming the TeeJet XR11004VS is what I want in this case? Thanks in advance!
Yep! That spray tip will work.
What tip would you recommend for spraying tenacity?
Foliar in most cases. ron-henry.com/foliartip
I have the yard mastery sprayer. I am going to apply carbon pro L. Which tip should be used to apply this product. Thanks
I would use the foliar tip Randal.
@@RonHenry thank you. Really enjoy your videos
I appreciate you watching!
Great video. BTW - The quick connector link is not working and I like using your links to buy stuff so you get the cred.
Thanks for telling me AJ. It’s fixed.
@@RonHenry thanks, just ordered !!
What about a dual nozzle wand setup? I have one on my spray mate and works amazing
Same process. Just use a container for each nozzle.
hi i Ron,
appreciate the video. can you advise what are the other components used to complete nozzle sprayer
Hi Adrian. Check in the video description. I have all the parts and where you can pick them up there. :-) 🙏😎
i see the nozzle tip information but what spray elbow model are you using? looking to mimic your setup as i have a similar green sprayer tip as the one on the flowzone
Check now Adrian. I just added the parts
✅ You can also build your own adapter using these 3 parts:

@@RonHenry thank you. this is awesome setup and super excited to add to my sprayer. love the videos Ron.
Anytime sir. Appreciate you watching
Hey Ron. Great video as always. QQ. I am trying to get one last boost of green without adding any nitrogen to the lawn (since we are almost at the end of the growing season). Is Ironite OK? If so, can I add carbon pro g @ the same time? Any suggestions on another granular product would be welcomed. Thanks Ron. I'm a Zoysia lover, but your Bermuda is awesome.
Hi T Johnson. Yes to both. If you're looking for a CarbonPro G substitute, I'd go with Essential-G: golfcourselawn.store/products/essential-g%E2%84%A2-granular-carbon-free-shipping If you're open to liquids I'd also recommend NutriSolve: golfcourselawn.store/products/nutrisolve-with-seaxtra. Thanks for watching the content sir. Appreciate the support.
You should do one on how to use the tjet quick release caps.
Good call zeroibis. I'll see about putting something together. Appreciate you watching.
Which is better for pre-emergent application, TeeJet AIXR11004VP or TF-VP4 TeeJet Turbo FloodJet Wide Angle Flat Spray Tip? Thx

@@RonHenry thx!
Wow, top notch video.
Thank you Max!
Great video, I'm thinking about getting the typhoon flow zone 2.5 variable backpacks sprayer. Where did you order your flow zone from? Thanks
This one: amzn.to/3iAG06O
@@RonHenry Thanks! Also I just wanted to say that you're the most responsive RUclipsr out there. EVERYTIME I've asked a question of you not only do you answer it ... but you answer in a very timely manner as well. Kudos!
I have the same sprayer but it looks like it requires an adapter to use the Teejets. Any idea what the correct adapter is?
Good morning Ron, I couldn't find the Quick connect to 110 degree teejet nozzle adaptor. please do you know hear I can find it.
Hi Frank. It does appear to be sold out in most places.
✅ You can also build your own adapter using these 3 parts:

@@RonHenry Thanks Ron, I appreciate all your help.
@@frankokehie3935 Anytime sir.
Ron, do the tips you referenced in the video work for the Flow Zone model as well? Mine are quick release and they don’t seem to come apart.
Yes they do Mark. Check the video description for an adapter for Flowzone that’ll allow you to use the TeeJet nozzles. Great question.
Do these fit the solo 435 ?
Thanks!
Btw, yesterday was the first time I saw any of your videos.
I was pretty impressed, and very interested in learning the things that you know.
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us who don't know so much.
Your videos are great extremely well done and very informative and to the point without any bullshit, perfect!!!
Hi omikeyutube. I've not used a Solo 435 personally but from the pictures, it does look like it has interchangeable tips. With that being the case you should be able to swap in the TeeJet tips without issue. Appreciate you watching the content sir. Thanks for the support.
@omikeyutube, I have the Solo 475 Comfort, which look like it shares the same wand with the 435. The TeeJet tips fit perfectly in the wand.
Yes, these did fit my Solo 435
Thanks
Great video!
Thanks so much. Glad you found it useful.
Hey Ron,
Which should I buy for treating creeping charlie in the lawn?
Depends on the grass type Net M. If you have Bermuda, go with Celsius. golfcourselawn.store/products/celsius-wg-broadleaf-and-grassy-weed-control-for-warm-season-turf
@@RonHenry hey Ron, I'm cool season, but I meant which sprayer nozzle? The one I use doesn't seem to give good coverage

Hey Ron, I wanna build a boom sprayer with 5 teejet noozles (11004), which 12v pump would you recommend? Flow rate and pressure? Any formula to consider if i want to add more noozles? Thanks
No idea on this one. I’ve never built a boom sprayer.
Hello Ron. Just bought a new Flow Zone Cyclone 3 and was wondering where could i purchase the fan tip for apply herbicides?
You can get it here: Foliar Tip: amzn.to/3DUCTk3
@@RonHenry Thx Ron. You are the man!!!! Can't wait to tune into the next live stream!!! My Zoyzia is greening up, but not as fast as ur Bermuda. 😊
This video brings back good memories!
My first video ever was about teejet nozzles, and I must say.. you did a much better job than I did.
That video is so cringe to watch now haha
Thanks man! I just watched your video. It wasn't that bad man. Granted your stuff now is much fancier, but that video is still good. You weren't the "HEELLLLLLOOOOOOOO RUclips" guy. 😂
Where did you get the pressure washer wand from? Is it an actual wand for a pressure washer and if so, is it able to withstand the chemicals that would be used through it?
@RonHenry I'll definitely add this to my shopping list. Maybe I can talk the wife into letting me get an early Christmas present lol.
Thanks for the info I got the t jeet tip where do I get the quick connect tip for the wand
Not sure what you mean. Your sprayer should have come with it?
I have the same battery sprayer as you and bought the recommended sprayer tips. However, the black part wouldn't fit into my gold tip sprayer opening.
You need this adapter: fzspray.com/collections/adapters/products/quick-connect-to-110-deg-teejet-nozzle-adapter
Hey Ron, will I need to get the quick connect adapter also before I can use the tips on my Flowzone sprayer?
Hi Anna. Yes you will. If you look in my pinned comment you can see the 3 parts you’ll need if the other I sold out.
If I was going to apply Q4 plus which nozzle would i need? A foliar nozzle or a larger droplet nozzle?
I would use foliar. This one: ron-henry.com/foliartip
Hi Ron, I purchased the tee jet tip for my sprayer. However the tip is slightly larger than the opening of tip body. Any suggestions for a fix?
Hmmm. I'm not sure on that one Larry. What kind of sprayer is it?
It’s a cheapy Chinese model. I thought all the reads r the same.
@larryunger1896 hmmm. You can’t tighten down the cap to where there aren’t leaks?
Just an FYI...the Quick-Connect adapters are not available because they are currently out of stock! (as of Aug 2021)
Heya Jim. You can also build your own adapter using these 3 parts:
Quick Connect Coupler: ron-henry.com/quickconnectcoupler
45 Degree Adapter: ron-henry.com/teejetadapter
TeeJet End Cap: ron-henry.com/teejetendcap

How does the TeeJet AI11004-VS 110 Degree Air Induction Flat Spray Tip - Red compare?
Air induction tips have produce larger droplet sizes than the non AI tips Trstan. On a windy days, you could go with an AI tip to reduce drift.
Ron. How often do you verticut? or do you just mainly mowe?
I primarily mow Isaac. My lawn has only been verticut once. Was done few years ago. ruclips.net/video/XtCxu-8r-t4/видео.html
Thanks. 😊
Man I think I have ESP. I was at HD yesterday looking for a better fan tip. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I was doing the same. Just not at Home Depot 🤔
You sent out the vibes and I made the video Bert!
There you go LG! I aim to please!
Great video, thanks so much for the information. I'm looking into buying the Ryobi 4 gallon backpack sprayer( model #2826 I think);would that Teejet work with that type of sprayer also I'm wanting to kill off a lot of the grassy weeds, in the next couple of days before I reseed my lawn I'll be using tenacity and speed zone, would this type of pesticide clog up the Teejet sprayer since the Teejet spays so fine, if so which one do you recommend?
The nozzle hole on one is slightly more oval and the notch on the side squared off, while the other nozzle hole is thinner and wider, and the side notch is V-shaped. Any idea which nozzle makes the droplets bigger or finer? Thanks
The nozzle with the ports on the side is an air induction tip. When run at lower pressures is draws air in which helps promote larger droplets
@@RonHenry Thanks Ron. Is that the V-shaped slot on the side?
Will this fit on a Ryobi 2 gallon sprayer? The standard nozzle head is terrible 😞
It should Don Julio. The nozzles on those are changeable.
Thank you 🙏

@@RonHenry hmmm do you happen to know the size?
Does Teejet make other spray pattern tips? Like say a stream pattern?
Pretty sure they do Danke. They make ones with even larger droplet sizes than the ones shown in this video. Just depends on what you need.
@@RonHenry thank you. I'll Google Teejey and c what they have.
Is the quick connnect adapter required for the flozone with teejet nozzles ?
Yes
Are they the same as pressure washer tips?
No Joe. The included tip is more akin to a pressure washing tip. The TeeJet tips are designed for applying products to crops.
Too bad the quick connect 110 degree adaptor for the Flow Zone is out of stock everywhere. Is there any alternative? I guess if not then it is not worth buy the two different nozzles if you don’t have the 110 degree adaptor correct>

I have a Milwaukee backpack sprayer…does anyone know the thread size for the wand? I can’t find it anywhere. I want to put the quick connect coupler on it. Thought it was a 3/8 NPT but nope, that ain’t it!
I'm not sure on that one lamcarter. You should be able to swap the nozzle without having to go through the trouble of fitting a QD system. Unless that's what you want of course. :-)
@@RonHenry Thanks Ron. I swapped the nozzle but you know I have to have that cool set up you got going there!

Nothing wrong with using a TeeJet tip with the Flowzone.
Will these work on spayed plus yt25e?
Yep! Should work just fine Derrick. the YT25e appears to have the end cap that supports swapping nozzles.
Would this work for kobalt sprayer?
Yes it will

Will these work on the Kobalt Sprayer from Lowe’s and the Ryobi from Home Depot? I have the Kobalt and would love to give these a try.
Yep. They do Michael.
Thank you! I just took the Kobalt out of the box. Pretty good value, runs and sprays well. I just want really high precision which comes down to the nozzle.
