The part where you're talking about the "jump in and race with your mates" is super reminiscent of that. I haven't bought it yet but the negative reviews on steam are really holding me off. But we'll see.
The negative reviews on steam is because it's called a dirt game. If it was called "Super rainbow racing" it would be like 80%. If you like "Super rainbow racing" then you'll like this game It's way too arcadey to my tastes, even need for speed is less arcadey than this and they also added gymkhana lol so I'll take that over this
It's funny the difference in opinion when it comes to visuals, I think the Xbox One and PC versions look sub-par alongside Forza Horizon 4. But it's a fun game. I should probably finish my review instead of watching one from a fellow Brit. That day one patch on Xbox wasn't ideal...

Good review. Ive had this game since christmas and only just heard yesturday that the awesome sandstorm we see on all these videos is only available in single player challenges!? Ive been hunting it down in multiplayer all year! I wish tubers would have made this clear.
Something bothered my OCD - Why does the leader board listing in the top-right hand corner seem random? Gamer Muscle is in 1st place on many occasions, yet other players names are displayed in 1st position - these are regularly changing, yet Gamer Muscle is still in 1st place on the track. See 2:37 to 3:05 as an example. What's going on?!
Looks like we are back to the glory days of, Dirt 2 and 3, still fantastic games today. As Robert pointed out, Codemasters have put Evolution studios to great use, as I found Dirt 4 soulless. Looking forward to this, nice review.
Great review! There was a couple additional questions was hoping to see answered about the game however. Is it an always online title? If I were to get this on console, it would likely be the perfect game to bring over to a buddies house and play split screen with, and if it always requires an online connection, that could be tricky. Albeit, that likely isn’t much of an issue nowadays, but I’m old fashioned ;) Also, from the looks of things, have they removed the proper Rally sections (ie. blasting down a narrow road with pacenotes) altogether? If so, that would seriously reduce my personal enjoyment of the game. If I’m honest, this game really reminds me of Gravel. It has decent physics, split screen, decent soundtrack, and the visuals can look pretty good, but is quite forgettable.
how can you give the graphics a 7.5 when literally half the graphics settings tha tare in other games are missing? You can't even switch off anti-aliasing and motion blur, which is a standard feature of literally every other pc game ever

it is not the 1st review that compares this game to Forza Horizon. I like both FH3 and FH4 and still play them (in FH3 I mostly the two expansions). So with this one I will wait. To be honest I was having issues with finding arcade that I really, really like and FH3 was just WOW. Not to mention that in comparison to other arcade titles (NFS, The crew) FH have a nice feel to the cars, including weight transfer (especially in older slower classics) and with xbox controller there vibrations in triggers letting gamer know about wheel spin on acceleration or ABS/locked wheels on breaking. Will I check Dirt5 sure, but not any time soon.

With wheel ts xw is one of the best i ever played, and i play 90% only ac and acc , but this game has amazing force feedback and handling with all the assist off ,cockpit or bonnet camera view , pretty unbelivable
I think these ridiculously wide tracks are big part of why the game feels so boring and unchallenging. Lack of visual damage in a 2020 next-gen heavy-contact racing game and very artificial, weightless and stiff handling model don't help either. Back to Wreckfest then... every newer release proves how big of a gem that game is.
Well I wish Sony could do something with it. Monument Valley, Pacific Rift and Arctic Edge were really good. Apocalypse and its online only unlocks wasn't as enjoyable to me at least. Haven't touched RC. Not sure what they could do besides remastering. But since they are PS3 mostly it would need some work and Arctic Edge would need much more to bring it up to the quality of the other games.
RTX is an Nvidia marketing term. Please use the term 'ray tracing' for this graphical effect. Also Nvidia did not invent ray tracing. It's been used by countless 3D rendering programs for the past 3 decades!
Top notch on the graphics? How much are they paying you? The textures of the environment in this game is worst than Dirt 2. The lighting is also washed out in places.
Have you actually played it ? This has way more graphical detail than dirt 2 way more detailed terrain and war more advanced lighting and shading. Maybe looks worse on PS4 and old Xbox but on next gen and pc it's quite nice. And no this is not a paid for review , it's a sponsored video because of my little add at the start.
I'd like this game a LOT more if it wasn't called Dirt 5 ..... This is obviously a spin off game it has literally nothing in common with Dirt 4. It honestly reminds me more of Dirt Showdown so I don't understand why they couldn't have called the game Dirt something and not 5
I have a question: WHY modern arcade racing games hate working suspensions so much? This 131 Abarth in the first clip is painful to watch. And I hate how cars feel in Grid 2019. Vintage Group 4 machines were fun but anything modern (+ classic minis) were AWFUL. I want to see and feel how suspension deal with bumps and car's weight. And here? It's supposed to be rally car, yet it behaves like some stanced piece of shit with locked dampers and cut springs.
This really isn't my cup of tea, but I'm really thankful Codemasters have split up Dirt and Dirt Rally franchises - looking forward to Dirt Rally 3 or whatever realistic game they fill the gap before their first WRC title My biggest disappointment is the graphics step up isn't as big as I'd expected; the final locations for DR2 were plagued by fog (especially Finland) that I really hope isn't present in 'DR3'.
Thanks for watching - Subscribe and regret it today !

@@blatendcrude7570 it was a great review but he doesn't sound anything like Bisping 😂
To be honest.. I enjoy this game! I have zero problems with it!
22:17 I feel personally attacked
Probably give this Dirt title a miss, but bloody entertaining content as always GM. ^_^
watched the whole review. This game looks super boring. I wish they would bring a new *Motorstorm* or something..
Man of many talents, quite decent tunes coming from GamerMuscle lol :D
This game is definitely for me because I’m a fan of arcade racers and a controller pleb.
I agree it’s ok but for £29 perhaps.
Actually looks really fun.... nice video
the whole internet bashed this game so so hard i refund it the game with out even playing it
But then you don't know how bad it truly is. :/
RTX is an Nvidia marketing term. Please use the term 'ray tracing' for this graphical effect. Also Nvidia did not invent ray tracing. It's been used by countless 3D rendering programs for the past 3 decades!
You are 100% correct, good sir:
Big Mac aren’t big at all!
he's back :)
1:17 is that a potato AI in the blue car? 🥖
Yah I felt like you were stalking me 😂
Top notch on the graphics? How much are they paying you? The textures of the environment in this game is worst than Dirt 2. The lighting is also washed out in places.
Have you actually played it ? This has way more graphical detail than dirt 2 way more detailed terrain and war more advanced lighting and shading.
Maybe looks worse on PS4 and old Xbox but on next gen and pc it's quite nice.
And no this is not a paid for review , it's a sponsored video because of my little add at the start.
I don't mind GRID for a bit of arcade nonsense. I was never a fan of the DIRT games though.
he has RISENNNN
what are your pc specs?
3900x 2080ti
He has latest IBM pentium
It also makes me a bit sad when some vehicle tune settings aren't seen on the car, like wheel camber and toe in dirt 4.
Honest review: if you look for a racing game to play with a controller, save 30 euros and buy that little masterpiece that's Art Of Rally.
It’s a like from me just for the rap! The actual game review is bonus content!
Bonus points for the Fast Show reference!
Come on man, of course we come here to see what you think about the FFB!
This really isn't my cup of tea, but I'm really thankful Codemasters have split up Dirt and Dirt Rally franchises - looking forward to Dirt Rally 3 or whatever realistic game they fill the gap before their first WRC title
My biggest disappointment is the graphics step up isn't as big as I'd expected; the final locations for DR2 were plagued by fog (especially Finland) that I really hope isn't present in 'DR3'.
This game is fun to play, I enjoy it very much
