Forza Horizon 4 makes this look like it's on xbox 360.... just saying. Edit: If it needs to be on next gen to look as good as current gen then I'm still not impressed. When the next forza games come out there's going to be no comparison in my lowly opinion.

It's not easy to expect further technical polish and improvements up to the next gen standard, not when it's a game targeting on cross-platform release and 60/120 FPS render target, which developed by studio that underwent prior reorganisation and suffered from Covid situation blow while the game was still in early state, in addition to a lot other development constraints. Meanwhile, Forza Horizon 4 is technically an iteration of the same game, developed by vastly larger team of more than 1,000 developers (consisted of Playground Games's core team and others from Turn 10, Microsoft's internal development divisions, and a dozen of outsource studios) within continuous development cycle, based on long established and further developed Forzatech engine (in itself is a result of shared development between R&D teams from Microsoft, Turn 10, and Playground Games), and didn't suffer from the same development constraints as in Dirt 5.
But why are you comparing Dirt 5 to FH4 and they're both completely different games? Kinda not a fair comparison tbh🤔 I think it looks fine but that's my opinion
Great video Don, also I don't get all the graphics hate, I think it looks awesome, the world physics, the lighting and the incredible amount of geo in the world are all well above what are in other games, people are just so used to games that are completely over the top maybe? also it runs at 60 fps... so maybe they are used to all their 30 fps games.

They can still make the "dirt" name as it should be. They can have the dirt series, where you can have all those crazy stuff director to the arcade players and then you can have the dirt rally series, where you can have a more realistic/serious theme, atmosphere and with realistic physics, like a real rally. In that way they can satisfy both sides

It's not easy to make the physics more realistic, not when it's done by smaller team within much shorter time. Comparison with Dirt 3 is just unfair since it was made by the original studio in a continuous development cycle, and is based on engine that had been further developed since its creation in 2004. Reminds me of last year’s Grid - lot of grinding and very similar race tracks - am I wrong? Enjoying Grid with 70% but it’s just lot of the same.. this seems like the same recipe, just more muddy
Not entirely sold on this game. I think it's looks fine visually and the tracks are varied. I'm just not sure about the longevity. The main selling point is the 120fps support. I wish Forza horizon 4 was also offering a higher refresh rate option. Might get this on black Friday if there is a decent sale
I really don't understand why most of you say this looks bad. Graphics look good to me. The tracks are highly detailed and whether effects look good. Also : How can you compare this to Need for Speed or Asphalt? This game's physics looks way more grounded in reality.
Nobody does when the handling is this elementary. It literally feels like a mobile game the cars just stick and you can literally never touch the brake you just let off the gas and throw the car into corners and it feels like it's on rails.
@@darealkenshi don't worry I'm already fully acquainted with the menus having no sound, there being absolutely no voices in the game because the sound is broken, and the fact that sometimes I just won't let you hit A to continue and you have to shut the game down and restart.
I was about to pull the trigger for one X and then to seris X but after seeing the ps5 video with amazing graphics and the dualsense are giving me pause and I may get for the ps5.
So this game literally has no career mode then looks to be like another grid you just pick a race and choose a car. No actual thought has gone into making a single player campaign. (this is just an observation of the first 5-10 minutes of gameplay) also can't fault the guy playing it he's pretty much killing this game
@@RKmixer there has been many great games with no open world. This is just crap and lazy where is the immersion just picking a race and a car which has been given to you isn't a career mode. The game from what I can see has no replay ability.
Lap ticker on top left is pointless. You never get to see your lap times. Only see your time on the leader board, and who knows when that was made. Last race? Last lap? Last week? This thing need a update patch immediately.
HUD: *Has a simplistic look* People: "Looks like a mobile game." I hate to say it but I really much agree to that statement. I'm sick of the really simplistic UI elements that some games use nowadays.

I think this is a stunning game . My first hour with it was I was a little unsure . But now after a few hours and upping the difficulty it’s great .
