You actually want to know more about every character. Especially about the Liyue characters. They are somehow unique because many of them are somehow connected to the Adepti and/or Morax. I'm really excited to see the summary of the Inazuma characters and whether we can get some kind of conclusion as to why the holders of the Visions there are so different.
On the top of zombies in Teyvat, we don’t know if there are western infection or Norse draugr zombies but Qiqi is a Chinese zombie (called a Jiangshi 僵尸 which means stiff corpse in literal translation) and the ‘orders’ or 敕令 (literally translated as royal decree) usually as a talisman 符箓 are used by taoists to control the zombies. Actually, for Qiqi, she more of an advanced zombie because without a talisman, they will go into a rampage and cause havoc. But unlike normal Chinese zombies, Qiqi is special because she can put the decree on herself. I recommend Mr Vampire 1985 to learn more (Chinese zombies used to be called vampires after translation because the can allow suck the blood and vitality of their victims and turn them into zombies too but the only difference is that they reanimated after death.) there’s so much I can say but I’m too lazy
Pro tip: pronounce the "X" of Liyue terms as "S". e.g 闲云 Xianyun -> Sian yun , 魈 Xiao -> Siao, 辛炎 Xinyan -> Sin yan, 行秋 Xingqiu -> Sing chiu etc. The tonal pronounciation will take time so I'm not putting that in. (use text to speech or google)
On the topic on Baizhu and Changsheng, I think that Changsheng isn’t Orobashi or some part of him because I have a better theory that she was Yaojun, the other adepti from Chenyu Vale because she has more similarities to Changsheng because Yaojun was also a healer but was killed by a demon god I think.

The game uses latin words correctly, but they rarely word the dialogs in a way that necessitates both forms (kinda how fatui is the plural of fatuus, but I think I've only seen the singular ingame once)

Why is his books famous outside of Liyue, well, Liyue books are very rooted in poems than in prose, and novels are more famous in Fontaine and Inazuma; that's that.
