There is a belief that the USAF is "easy" and one could snooze through boot camp and any career in that branch. However, just by being in the military, one may never know what fate has in store. When the Air Force was still part of the Army (US Army Air Corp) many airmen found themselves in combat, i.e., B17 door gunners, ball turret gunners etc.., chances were if your plane exploded with you in it, well, your fellow squadron members were wiping you off their windshields. During the Vietnam war, airmen were stationed in places like Da Nang or better known as Rocket City (try sitting through a rocket attack while you are among aircraft loaded with JP 4 and tell me how "easy" that was.
During Desert Storm, airmen were in places that received the same kind of welcome from incoming SCUD missiles presumably with your name on it. When you hear that roaring monster coming in at you from the stratosphere, tell me how "easy" that was.
The US Coast Guard becomes part of the regular Navy during war and heads right into combat with their regular Navy shipmates. So you see, just because one goes into a perceived "easier" branch of the military, it is no guarantee one will not see combat, it all depends of the needs of the command where you are sent and what is happening where you are going. So to those who sit back in their game chairs and play Call of Duty, war is not a game where you get numerous lives and you dash into simulated combat and earn trophies. When flying hot metal tears into human flesh, it leaves one either maimed for life or dead.
We who have served and met the enemy regardless of our chosen branch of service realized there is a friendly rivalry of who is the best, which has led to many a bar fight I'm certain, but when the ballon goes up and our country calls, we stand as ONE to face our country's enemies even if it means we give up our lives in the process.

Been there, done that. Those screaming monsters give you the blooming creeps as they make that final arc coming down on your position.

Those drill sergeants are more relaxed when compared to other branches. This is the second easiest boot camp the air force is the first easiest.

It's not boot camp; it's the Coast Guard Academy.
Those aren't drill sergeants; they're senior cadets. (Junior year, if I recall.)
