  • From a discussion on a Home Improvement Facebook group, many thoughts on what set Wilson's basement in the episode Thanks, but No Thanks from Season 8, Episode 10 was from. I initially thought a 90s Batman film's Batcave, but Al Borland himself, Richard Karn, chimed in to mention that it was a set from the 1998 film Armageddon borrowed from Michael Bay.
In this video, I found a section of the film Armageddon which shows the sets match. The two white arrows in my video show a two pillar rock formation and then a tree like rock formation in both the Home Improvement episode and the Armageddon film.
Shout out to Jordan Dyer for starting the conversation on Wilson's basement and Richard Karn for providing the cool details of TV history.
