Growing up hunting in Pennsylvania I didn’t know that there was any other gun than the Marlin 336 in 30-30. Ok maybe 35 Remington but that is all you’ll ever need to kill a white tail at 100 yards. 😂
what scope base did you run on the Marlin I have a weaver two peace mount, but they sit up a little high to allow a scope to clear the hammer. You got some good snap shot times on the old lever gun. Anyone who thinks the 30-30 is not modern enough has not talked to the old hunters. The 336 in our family has stacked 46 deer over 3 generations in the woods. I makes nice holes on living flesh.
I prefer the lever "thutty-thutty". 😊 Thanks John!
Yep, nothing wrong with the 30-30! Stay safe!
Thanks for the video,
Very good points brought up about both rifles.
Didn't really do either caliber justice with the ammo selection.
Thanks for watching and stay safe!
some of the main things I like about old lever guns like DEAD SOLID reliability speed of cycle and will shoot any powder.
Yep, lever action are pretty reliable! Thanks for watching!

In that video, it was an old Weaver base, I have since upgraded to a 1 piece, multi slot EGW base. Thanks and thanks for watching!
