There’s always next time, or you could just infuse some toasted spices in 1/2 ltr of your shine and see what happens. If you did, I wouldn’t use to much spice though, as it might overpower your original drink.
Had a thought wanted to share it with you was thinking of making a banana brandy but also making a chocolate malt as well, and then adding them together for fermentation purposes, and then running them all to the still at the same time with your thoughts
I’m pretty sure my answer will be the wrong, but I would expect you’ll end up with an odd and weak tasting final product. But definitely give it a go if you can. No harm, no foul.
If you look after it, then it will last for years. I have flavoured homemade drinks from 3 years a go or more and they’re still fine. I keep mine in relatively dark and cool place. But, as this drink is soooooo super tasty, it never hands around for long anyway 😂
That’s one reason I like to see what’s in the freezer section in the supermarket. Normally always have something of interest and it’s reasonably cheap as well.
And try adding some cherry pips, some broken (not too much). Or add a piece of charred cherry wood for aging. I have added a 5cm x 1x1 piece in alufoil in de oven at 180C voor 1 hour, then charred it above a flame and brushed it. Add it to your cherry shine and let it age while tasting now and then.
@@justsome-guy7596 i always toast it before use. After using it I just keep it as an aroma on my kitchen worktop or use it in my smoke chamber for smoking meat/fish
they both look good thanks for all the great info my Friend by the way loved the ending
Well thanks for your continued support Randy, means a lot 🙏👍
Have to give them a try. I did something similar with peaches and cherries
That’s a combo I would not have thought about, so thanks, as I might try those together 👍
Yum, yes please!
This one is definitely going on the list for gifting drinks to family at Christmas.
this brings back fond memories. senior in HS. Lawrence Cherry Vodka. haven't touched it since
At least they’re fond memories of that cherry goodness 😎
@@highly-spirited it doesn't change color either way... I'd rather eat a banana...lol
I made some cherry shine last month, it was excellent but I wish I had seen your video first, I like the spicy Idea

Definitely going to try this one
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Always toast spices! ❤
That looks like something I must try
It’s always down to individual tastes, but it sure has got a lovely mix of the flavours coming through.
Thanks off to coles i go to get the ingredients to make this!
I’ve not got much left of either of these drinks. It really is a tasty one to enjoy. Hope you get a chance to have a go at this one.

How's the shelf life after doing something like this?

Recently had a hankering for cherry. Opted not to make my own--not quite cherry season. Don't add it to Irish Cream!

Nice idea. I haven’t used much wood for flavours in my time, so I’ll definitely take that suggestion 😎
Erwin - I've noticed cherry wood adds sweetness to my hooch at home too. Do you re-toast your woods prior to each use?
