I find it works pretty well, I make calls fairly often through the Bluetooth and it's fine. I have a fairly noisy uninsulated cab and A/T tyres and the background noise doesn't seem to be an issue (I am assured by my callers that it is evident I am on hands free but it comes through ok too) I am using the built in Mic on the unit only. I do find if I am listening to Bluetooth music or the radio and a call comes through I do have to turn up the volume quite a bit to reach the same speech volume levels as the radio was at though.
Hmm, odd one, couple of quick things to check, if you tap the power button once it does mute / unmute the system make sure that hasn't happened, they are set to mute the sound when in reverse for the camera too (this can be changed in settings) maybe try a couple of different audio inputs (radio Bluetooth etc) other than those it could be a hardware issue, assuming the factory harness is ok and worked before it should work now as a plug and play.
hey thats a nice stereo im looking forward to buy but in the site it says that it has usb slots but i cant really see them in any picture or video i watch can u pls help me by telling me if its visible in ur video or something?
Yeah it doesn't have them in the front as you can see, there are 2 in the back that are cables that I routed out through the bottom. One is power only and one is communication and power.
Hi, it plugs into the factory wiring loom and operates the standard 4 speaker system just fine. There is a port in the back of the unit and sub harness to plug into an external amplifier, but my understanding is there is no internal amplifier for running a sub or anything more powerful than the factory fitted speaker system.
No worries, there are a few versions on eBay this is the one I purchased www.ebay.com.au/itm/134666639284?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=r0tuj7jcrwm&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=Yt4HXQpuQiu&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=EMAIL
Hi mate, yep mine both work, one to connect my phone and one to provide charge only, no setting up required. There are 2 spots they plug into in the back of the unit, the 4 pin plug and receptacle is only charging current and the 6 pin one is data and charge, might pay to make sure they are secured into the correct sides? Hope this can help!
Hey mate, the yellow input seems to be a pretty standard fitment for a few vehicle reverse cameras, I have recently ordered one and intend to do a how to video on the install when it arrives. Alternatively check out some of the packages that come with the head unit and a camera, could help see what cameras are being shipped with that haled unit.
@@simmoshomeworkshop thanks a heap mate I’ll have a look. I only had a brief look at them and got the same as yours because it had a discount code and I got it for 140aud. I’ll have another look on eBay cheers 👍
@@simmoshomeworkshop hey mate just wondering I got mine installed and the default password in the manual for car settings isn’t working. Was yours the same as the manual or different? I’ve messaged the seller anyway hopefully get a reply soon
@@simmoshomeworkshop yeah got it sorted. Default password was “000000” I’m now having issues getting the USB to work but other than that everything is working spot on. Hi mate, I can't say with 100% certainty it will, I didn't have one, so I fitted an aftermarket camera. Be best to contact a seller before purchase to be sure, sorry I can't be of more assistance.
Thanks! Yep, anything on the play store can be installed, I put waze on mine works well, only thing I found is I had to hotspot the unit to my phone for WiFi to use the apps on the unit. I find connecting to my phone via Bluetooth or a wired connection and using the phone apps can be an easier option.
Hi Craig, I've never used an apple phone with it but the description on the one I bought says "Wireless Carplay: You can choose wired connection or wireless connection to carplay, connect to Apple mobile phone, access mobile phone address book, mail, notification, map navigation, music, video and other information, and realize voice control." Hope this helps.
Pretty good, still doing everything it should even after some very hot summer days. If I had any complaints, it would only be not being able to get DAB digital radio in my region, but that would be all, it still functions like new.
This is pretty cheap I agree compared with VHEDIA brands etc. Is it leggy to connect on start up or slow w Google maps while music is playing or anything?
I think as usual, you do get what you pay for, for me I use it for basic BT music and the occasional google maps use, and it's just fine for that. But I don't think it would compare fairly with the high end touch screens out there. You can use a wired connection, BT or hot spot wifi to your phone, the maps do seem to lag sometimes especially on the hotspot. Start up is just fine, immediate in fact, if you haven't isolated the vehicle battery. If you are looking to multi task and demand a lot of the unit it may not meet your expectations, but once again for the price it does fine by me Hope this can help!
@@simmoshomeworkshop thanks man. I just need ot to do google maps a d play music simultaneously. Does it do that? Did it connect up to reversing camera ok too?
It seems alot of these head units from eBay all (or at least most of them) come with the frame for the same price either way. I didn't even try to fit it to the OEM besel, could be a good way to go.
Thanks bud purchased this brilliant for its buck cheers mate
My ac knobs won’t fit now. The housing for the unit doesn’t allow them to clip in.

I noticed it covers the factory clock in the top of the screen or is it just the angle u recorded in??
It does a little, it depends on how tall you are. I'm 6' and can see the factory clock while driving. But only just.
Always has the time on the unit just installed mine its pretty good
Hey does it have a built in amp? Can it run front speakers at least??

Hey mate I purchased one similar to this and I am having trouble getting the ac button to work, any ideas
The a/c button? Is the OEM switch sticking in the facia hole or something?
If so, I guess you could file the hole out a little bit.
Had similar problems, any luck?
Would you be able to add the link please
