First instructor to ever explain this and actually make it easier to understand and not just blow through the lesson. I love the breakdown and the “why”. I can immediately apply this.
I’ve gotten into really bad habit of hitting down on the ball with my driver. Can’t wait to try this ASAP. Thank you Ali!!! Any tips for us who slide our weight left to right drastically?
Brilliant video will be watching this over and over learning this move .. Question my average carry is 285yds with 9.5 deg driver launch is 15 deg and spin is 2800 is the spin hurting my drives ?? Using orange tees not sure of my attack angle
Great tip Ali. Works well when I 'pump' to get the feeling then hit from a 'static' backswing, but having trouble translating to the full swing. Any tips? Maybe just need to keep at it.
Great video! Like a lot of others I too struggle with driver and often not only hit down but also slice. This should improve delivery at impact and also clubhead path
@@AliTaylorGolf Ali **update** trip to range today. Not all gems by any means but there is a huge difference. My best was a 265 carry and 292 total and at 50yrs of age I'm totally converted. I owe you a pint
Sounds good although the lower figures you were using a White Castle, then when the distance increased you teed the ball up much higher ! Will it work aswell with a White Castle ?
Another great lesson here is that when you tried to hit it further by increasing your speed, it actually didn’t carry as far nor was the total yardage as long. So, you don’t need to swing out of your shoes to get maximum distance.
U did not mention that this method could cause for some golfers to hit the ground before the ball, specially for those that release a little early, and how to avoid it. It took 6 min before u got to the drill....
There is always lots of things that could be talked about. at least if they hit the ground before the ball the AoA is up, just need to control the height of the arc.
This is great Ali, i've mainly been hitting low bullets with the driver carrying 220 rolling out to 250ish in the summer definitely not getting the most out of my 145 - 150mph ball speed, getting punished in winter conditions and courses that require a big carry of the tee. Will try this side bend feel on the downswing to bring the low point back. Would bumping the hips left result in the same position?
How do you avoid inadvertently developing a reverse pivot with this? I can see getting the wrong swing thought and habitually dumping all your weight on the back foot
I hit the ball with the driver 3-4* up, and still launch low, even with a higher lofted Driver...more to do with dynamic loft at impact, and, for me, less to do with AoA...Hands are probably too far forward at impact which is lowering the dynamic loft, in spite of the 3-4* up AoA......Too much Cricket as a kid! 😆
My advice is all golfers with a high handy cap or are over 75, should be golfing from the advanced tees. Suck it up buttercup you ain't what you think you are. 😂😂😂

Great drill. Will start using it immediately. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
10:55 and set playback speed to 0.25x to really show it in action. Helped me out - Thanks AT!
Fabulous! Will try this right away. Thanks
As well as you explained it, it just now makes sense. Thanks for the great verbal explanation and examples!!
Excellent tip Ali, carefully explained word by word, so pure and easy to understand.👍
Great simple details
Back, then let the side bend, first time heard this tip!!! Thanks
Exactly what I've been having trouble with ! Will definitely be trying this out. More tuition / tips like this please. 👍🏻👏🏻🤞🏻
Will do!
Great tip... will give it a go Friday in my practice day before my medalplay tournament on Sat... cheers pal.
Ali, great video. Are you able to produce a similar lesson with mid irons.
I’ve gotten into really bad habit of hitting down on the ball with my driver. Can’t wait to try this ASAP. Thank you Ali!!! Any tips for us who slide our weight left to right drastically?
Great video..what is the loft on the head?
Thanks for the help
Thanks, Ali amazing tip...I will try it tomorrow on the range. What about grip strength during the swing..I always struggle with a too tight grip.
Try as relaxed as you can
Will practice this tip today Ali thanks👍👍👍
Have fun
Great video!! How high do you recommend to tee-up the golf ball?
Generally about 1/2 ball above the top of the club but depends a little on your angle of attack. A bit lower if down, maybe higher if up a lot.
Will give it a go, cheers Ali
Please do and let me know how it goes.
Brilliant video will be watching this over and over learning this move .. Question my average carry is 285yds with 9.5 deg driver launch is 15 deg and spin is 2800 is the spin hurting my drives ?? Using orange tees not sure of my attack angle
Slightly lower spin would help
Great tip Ali. Works well when I 'pump' to get the feeling then hit from a 'static' backswing, but having trouble translating to the full swing. Any tips? Maybe just need to keep at it.
Great tip aly, I can get a little steep and a little bit over the top. Looking forward to trying it 👍
Happy to help!

Great video Ali. I always enjoy your content. It always makes a lot of sense. I can't to try that side bend to hit more up on the ball. Thanks
You're welcome, I hope it helps.
Finally found your video to follow up. This tip has drastically changed my driver (distance/consistency). Question: Is it the same for irons?
Not exactly, slightly different swing with the irons. I've got loads videos on irons and some more on the way.
Something to work on over the winter.
A great time to work on things
Sounds good although the lower figures you were using a White Castle, then when the distance increased you teed the ball up much higher ! Will it work aswell with a White Castle ?
The strike will probably be too low on the face.
not sure if this should matter but a wider stance helps me achieve that upward angle of attack much easier.
It can help
Is this more a driver move or can I implement it into my irons too ?
Side bend with irons is important but you need the low point after the ball.
@@AliTaylorGolf thanks for getting back to me Ali
Very helpful I’ll keep at it and watching you vids pal
Excellent. I just asked the same question without realizing it was asked/answered. Will try this with my irons.
good video.
Has a little incorporation of Todd Grave’s single plane swing approach.
Looks a lot like "Stack and Tilt". All the rage now, and it works !
Question: Does the LOFT of the club matter as well? What loft is your driver?
You will need different loft depending on your delivery, mine is 8 degrees
Another great lesson here is that when you tried to hit it further by increasing your speed, it actually didn’t carry as far nor was the total yardage as long. So, you don’t need to swing out of your shoes to get maximum distance.
Looking pretty cold out there with all the gear you are wearing :-)
It is 🥶🥶🥶
Amazing video
Thanks!
Need to try this👆🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Try it, try it ,try it!!! Let me know how it goes.

if i hit an extra 70 yards i would be out passed Dechambeau. I'm in!

A little, but focus on side bend
How do you avoid inadvertently developing a reverse pivot with this? I can see getting the wrong swing thought and habitually dumping all your weight on the back foot
It seems odd that, striking up on the ball gave you a higher spin on your drive!
Incorporate some front lateral bend and you’re off to the races.

Maybe strike?
Love this, but i do hope Chris was not the student lol its the only thing i beat him on .
I couldn't possibly say.

Too much waffle at the start, 4 mins in we start to get the tip, not your usual waffle light presentation. Rap on the knuckles , I’m afraid.
Zzzzz Zzzzzz
Great video
