- How To Make Black Bean Tlacoyos With Chef Fermín Núñez | Made In Cookware
This week, Chef Fermín Núñez of Suerte in Austin teaches us how to make Tlacoyos. A traditional street food in Mexico, tlacoyos have a masa base that’s stuffed with beans, cheese, or meat. Chef Núñez tops his with nopales and a fresh salsa Mexicana. This is a perfect recipe for our Carbon Steel Comal, which is used to sear the nopales and give the masa a crispy exterior.

Our Comal is the perfect surface for cooking the tlacoyos. The searing power of Carbon Steel helps crisp up the masa to stand up to the toppings.
Love this tutorial
Very beautiful video and info thank you
Yum! I Love Nopales and the Salsa Mexicana is a great recipe for those who don't have a blender! Thanks El Jefe!
I've always been intimidated by nopales -- but not anymore! thanks chef, can't wait to give this one a go
Love Fermin and Suerte. I can’t wait to try this one at home.
Flavortown is right, Chef!
Interesting salsa recipe. "Raw masa is not as fun as cooked masa" lol. I made these once from a recipe online and they were good. I appreciate the video as I know next time they will be excellente.
Good thing I just bought the comal! Going to christen it with this recipe ❤️❤️❤️
Let us know how they turn out!
Ok, ordering my masa now. I want to try this!
All I need is a comal?! Hell yeah!

It really difficult to find nopales where I live. Could I use something like Poblano peppers instead?
