Buan Pamei same here. After playing watch dogs and AC Unity, i boycotted Ubisoft..after origins was announced and i realized the work they put into it, it peaked my interest.
I think far cry 5 is a little overrated. but its really beautifull, this i cant deny. The history is Kind of a wet dream from the most extreme Hillary Clinton follower about go and kill some white provincial . (the game is just like the way they think this people act) Dont take me wrong, i dont care much about what happens in a game or about what you shoot in a fake video game world, and far cry usually does it great when it comes to villains (so you just will want to shoot'em more not because they are blue aliens or white democrats disguised as reptilians but cause its far cry). But when a friend told me about that i just went to check if its look like that "wet dream" and i kind of agree with him lol. PS=> Dunno if you played but if dont, just go and get VALIANT HEARTS from Ubisoft. What a masterpiece!

Add in Ghost Recon Wildlands. A 3 look amazing on the X at 4k. UBISOFT is even rolling out a 4K patch for The Division. EA won't even release a patch for BF1. UBISOFT is getting my money these days. Great sale right now on AC Origins.

Dickyboy 23 Microsoft makes billions of dollars every year I'm pretty sure they know how to make money. Everyone is Soo focused on hardware but the real money maker is software and online services and between Xbox and Windows I'm pretty sure the platform is safe.
Pretty impressive that the 1X has a boost of around 5.3 times the pixel count over the base Xbox one as well as better performance and faster load times, especially since the 1X is only 4.6 times as powerful as the base Xbox one. There's a lot more to the X than the numbers suggest.
In paper it should be about equal to a 1060, but in reality it performs around 1070 levels of power. What a feat of engineering! I can only imagine if they put that same philosophy to the original Xbox One...
yet the actual hardware inside the xb1x is the same amd jaguar 2x phenom laptop processors glued together (but clocked at 2.23ghz not 1.87ghz or whatever base clocks were i don't remember offhand), anways the GPU on launch was weaker than a fully underclocked gtx 480 so being 5.7x as powerful as that means that the xb1x GPU is maybe the power of 1.5-2 full gtx 480's operating at 100% scaling, which then means that it's power compared to the 10 series is around gtx 1050 level, the rest of the power comes from optimization

19genius99 input lag in game mode is 21ms on 2017 LG OLEDs which is damn good. Monitors operate around 5-15ms. Just to be clear response time is different from input lag, a lot of people get that confused and go “LOL 21ms WTF my monitor is 1ms”
I mean, the *9001 4K titles* on PC are system dependant. Sure they can run in 4K through the settings, but so many PC gamers can't even run 1080p60 Ultra on all games on their systems yet.
I have a GTX 1080 and my PC still struggles to run FC5 at solid 60 fps on 1440p, even with some of the settings as low. The framerate drops all the way down to 40 sometimes, smh.
Wow, the X is just an incredible console. NO, it does not have Sony or Nintendo’s exclusives. But as a multipatform machine it is an absolute joy to play on. Even having the switch and PS4, I stillllll find myself playing the X the most. Mainly because it’s a beautiful machine to play on and I mainly play multiplats, well done Microsoft, you continue to impress! What a great last six months for those guys !
roger mawby I’m loving the X. And I love love my switch and PS4. I have a gaming laptop but it just never got my attention the way I hoped. I guess I’m a console guy at heart. But the X has been so great since day 1 and just continues to impress. Especially with games from Ubi, Bethesda, and Activision...all of their updates have been eye popping. If anyone hasn’t upgraded I would suggest a LG OLED for hdr content, it’s such a good combo ! Ps4 and switch looks great on those TVs also

I'm blown away by the visuals on FC5 on my OneX and 4ktv, my only issue is the pop ins break immersion cause it's pretty noticeable, but if you just stand still and just look at the environments, it's some desktop background worthy screenshots
A GTX 1070 is more powerful than an xb1x. At MSRP, that's not saying much since it's just a mid-range PC card. Nice to know my 1070 ti runs *much* better than an xb1x though. :)
Wow...looks dang near amazing even on my 1080p output of my phone. I still would have liked the textures on the ground (Forest Setting especially) rendered earlier as it does break the immersion a little. Besides that, it looks better in all categories compared to the PS4 PRO, still hurts me to say it but I have to admit the Xbox One X does get the job done. They can iron out all the glitchs and bugs in the future, so those issues aren't a problem to me. Great analysis Digital Foundary

DIVINE_logic it’s not Microsoft, it’s the developers job to optimize and take advantage of the extra power lol so good job Ubisoft. They deserve some credit anyway they have been making fantastic games lately. And fixing their older games like Rainbow Six and the Division, say what you will about the launch but they’re both great games now
It's not that simple. Yes the One X is way more powerful than the PS4 Pro, but by choosing the X over the Pro you sacrifice the excellent PS4 exclusives that exist and those coming this year. Also the PC is the best gaming platform obviously.

Yes, this game would be better 1080p 60fps which is easy for a gaming PC. I was gonna sell my PC for £350 (I will buy another one once Volta is out for VR) and it can run this game at 1080p 60fps. An X is £450 in the UK.
I rather have the option which PC allows, in my case, 60fps is key and I'll take that over anything else because it changese the feel of how games play whereas 4k just makes it look nicer, having both is best if you have a beefy PC to handle it but 60fps comes first in almost every game for me.
I watched this video on my 4k TV and the X. And I must say....I've never stopped so many times in a game to just take screenshots. Farcry 5 has done on AMAZING job at this game.
The high-end PC I built last year handles 2560x1440 Ultra @ 90 fps, which also seems to offer draw distance improvements over consoles. I have an X1X and a 4K 60 Hz HDR TV and as beautiful as that is, the 90fps experience on PC is way better. The 1X has very impressive value for money though to say the least as I paid more than 5 times more for the PC lol. In reality, no $500 PC will match it when built with components not bought second hand from Ebay and even then, the 1X still shines.
In 2018 one thing is clear. No matter what you play on, video games just look amazing. I have no complaints. I've grown up with games since the early 80's and it gives me a better appreciation of just where we're at these days.
This will become common as new third party games are released and developers become a wiz on the X1X.. MS were saying all along 4K is possible but up to the developer to make a bit of an effort....
X1X's Forza Horizon 3's forest simulator already has native 4K locked 30 fps. X1X's Far Cry 5's forest simulator delivering 4K locked 30 fps is not a surprise. Ubisoft matching Turn 10's optimisation on X1X is pretty good.
This may seem out of place but Far Cry looking this amazing just makes me marvel at the potential for Halo Infinte on the next Xbox I mean look at them trees and the ground aswell as the wood on buildings best I have ever seen.
Far cry graphics are always the absolute best. Shame they wont update it for ps5. Been playing all the far cry games again and each game blows me away. 3, 4, and primal are the most mind blowing. They were still making ps2 games when 3 came out, 4 and primal surprise me that they arent ps5 games. Same with 5 too.
When ubisoft first released AC Origins object pop in occurred at the same distance on both consoles but later released an Xbox one X specific patch that increased the memory budget that allowed for higher resolution textures and increased the distance at which objects were drawn in. Playing AC Origins post patch the pop in is almost non existent. I hope they do the same with Far Cry 5. Seems a waste not to take advantage of the 4 additional gigs of RAM that the X offers over the Pro. Btw shadow quality looks much higher on the X
It should be better, X1X has 3+ more gigs of faster memory for sharper textures and further texture filtering. I have heard though that PS4 Pro and X1X already match ultra textures on PC, so maybe texture filtering could be improved 10' or so?
It’s such a beautiful game on the Xbox One X. My only couple of complaints would be the water(which looks like chocolate puddin) and the geometry of the apples in the trees. Other than that I’m really enjoying my trek around Montana!
Omg! It looks amazing on the x as it should, i see a big difference but the pro version still looks really good as well. The x version is clearer, more detailed and colorful while the ps4 is blurry and smudged. Kudos for ubisoft for utilizing the x's true power unlike some devs.
Looks great on the X, probably in line with Origins, just wish Xbox had VR :-( It would also make the dogfights way better/easier, I hate doing any cockpits outside of VR now cause I can't track the target and fly without loosing them or my bearings.
I played over 100 hours on the old xbox, decided to upgrade to the xbox x, now i do run a 1080p TV, so wasnt expecting much in the way of better graphics, but one thing i was really surprised at was the amount of scene popping i was noticing on the xbox x, and the render distance didn't seem any further, about the only thing i noticed as a positive was it seem to run smoother, was it worth getting the xobx x for, short answer is no, not unless you have a 4K TV (which is my next investment)
Games like this, Red Dead 2, Cyberpunk, Evil Within 2, and others really has pushed most third party buys for me on XBox. Hopefully we do see them begin to push out amazing first party coming up as well, but really glad to have seen XBox rebound over the past few years. Replaying this again now on Series X, and to think I almost only went with PS5 for this gen. XBox has been coming back for a bit now. And every now and then, even last gen, we’d see some amazing titles that did have a visual difference between PS and XBox. Great time to be a console gamer. This title does need a 60 fps update though. If Days Gone can push out what it does on PS5, surely we can get this on Far Cry and Red Dead.

You know these types of things are possible only because of the journalists who review these technical aspects of video games. Most people don't realize they are playing a badly optimized video game until they understand the difference between a great experience and a bad one. I mean let's be honest, we all played Goldeneye back on the N64. Well, that game runs very very poorly but we didn't know any better. Thanks to the folks at DigitalFoundry (namely the person speaking in this video) they are educating the masses and more people are realizing what the threshold of "acceptable" should be in games and that is a SOLID 30fps with minimal frame skips/tearing. So I just want to applaud you guys, thank you for doing these videos and we reap the benefits of the spread of information, these game is gorgeous and it runs very very well, the experience is nearly flawless in performance and it's a breath of fresh air.
As a Playstation Pro user, Xbox 1 X looks really great. I wish Microsoft had more exclusives though. I might buy Xbox One X to play 3rd party games and PS4 Pro for 1st party games.

Playing this gem right now on the Series X since it dropped on the game pass, with the frame boost. I have the game installed on an external HDD running FPS boost and I am loving it. Yes this games are cinematic and the chaos is awesome but this is not what these games are known for, those frame dips CAN be brutal, but I'm say personally that this game looks awesome and runs great on the Series X even when you don't have it installed internally.
I'm gonna call bs on that, unless you way overpaid for your pc. A $1500 pc will get you a 1080 and an i7, and you'd be able to play most stuff at 4k/60.
I should have been more specific; CDN$1500! So like, $400 American lol. And I didn't build it recently. OC'd 970 and 4690k. Along with mobo/ram/storage/case/all the other bells and whistles $1500 is a conservative estimate. Pretty baller for my needs but definitely not enough for 4k30, let alone 4k60 :)
That's dope. I don't know what the future looks like for me so I'm not super worried about buying a 4k monitor and future-proofing, but I do have a 1440p 144hz on the way, I heard that's basically the sweet spot right now :)

I've only been playing the game on the Xbox One X, and it looks incredible. I find myself in awe at all the detail. The native 4k presentation, which I was not expecting, given the size and scope of the game, is just the icing on the cake.
Nice to see that the One X is capable of a Native 4K presentation for an open-world game. I own a One S and Pro but considering buying the X. I am expecting the PS5 to be out November 2019 though, so I am hesitant.

I have a GTX 1080 and my PC still struggles to run FC5 at solid 60 fps on 1440p, even with some of the settings as low. The framerate drops all the way down to 40 sometimes, smh.
Wow, the X is just an incredible console. NO, it does not have Sony or Nintendo’s exclusives. But as a multipatform machine it is an absolute joy to play on. Even having the switch and PS4, I stillllll find myself playing the X the most. Mainly because it’s a beautiful machine to play on and I mainly play multiplats, well done Microsoft, you continue to impress! What a great last six months for those guys !

roger mawby I’m loving the X. And I love love my switch and PS4. I have a gaming laptop but it just never got my attention the way I hoped. I guess I’m a console guy at heart. But the X has been so great since day 1 and just continues to impress. Especially with games from Ubi, Bethesda, and Activision...all of their updates have been eye popping. If anyone hasn’t upgraded I would suggest a LG OLED for hdr content, it’s such a good combo ! Ps4 and switch looks great on those TVs also

I'm blown away by the visuals on FC5 on my OneX and 4ktv, my only issue is the pop ins break immersion cause it's pretty noticeable, but if you just stand still and just look at the environments, it's some desktop background worthy screenshots

Wow...looks dang near amazing even on my 1080p output of my phone. I still would have liked the textures on the ground (Forest Setting especially) rendered earlier as it does break the immersion a little. Besides that, it looks better in all categories compared to the PS4 PRO, still hurts me to say it but I have to admit the Xbox One X does get the job done. They can iron out all the glitchs and bugs in the future, so those issues aren't a problem to me. Great analysis Digital Foundary

Yes, this game would be better 1080p 60fps which is easy for a gaming PC. I was gonna sell my PC for £350 (I will buy another one once Volta is out for VR) and it can run this game at 1080p 60fps. An X is £450 in the UK.
They're both somewhat similar because moving the camera at 30fps makes everything blurry as well
I rather have the option which PC allows, in my case, 60fps is key and I'll take that over anything else because it changese the feel of how games play whereas 4k just makes it look nicer, having both is best if you have a beefy PC to handle it but 60fps comes first in almost every game for me.

I watched this video on my 4k TV and the X. And I must say....I've never stopped so many times in a game to just take screenshots. Farcry 5 has done on AMAZING job at this game.
The high-end PC I built last year handles 2560x1440 Ultra @ 90 fps, which also seems to offer draw distance improvements over consoles. I have an X1X and a 4K 60 Hz HDR TV and as beautiful as that is, the 90fps experience on PC is way better. The 1X has very impressive value for money though to say the least as I paid more than 5 times more for the PC lol. In reality, no $500 PC will match it when built with components not bought second hand from Ebay and even then, the 1X still shines.

In 2018 one thing is clear. No matter what you play on, video games just look amazing. I have no complaints. I've grown up with games since the early 80's and it gives me a better appreciation of just where we're at these days.
This will become common as new third party games are released and developers become a wiz on the X1X.. MS were saying all along 4K is possible but up to the developer to make a bit of an effort....
Proves devs are being lazy on some titles or holding back on the X. If UBI can do this kind of open world in 4K on the X other devs can do better.
X1X's Forza Horizon 3's forest simulator already has native 4K locked 30 fps.
X1X's Far Cry 5's forest simulator delivering 4K locked 30 fps is not a surprise. Ubisoft matching Turn 10's optimisation on X1X is pretty good.
This may seem out of place but Far Cry looking this amazing just makes me marvel at the potential for Halo Infinte on the next Xbox I mean look at them trees and the ground aswell as the wood on buildings best I have ever seen.

Far cry graphics are always the absolute best. Shame they wont update it for ps5. Been playing all the far cry games again and each game blows me away. 3, 4, and primal are the most mind blowing. They were still making ps2 games when 3 came out, 4 and primal surprise me that they arent ps5 games. Same with 5 too.

When ubisoft first released AC Origins object pop in occurred at the same distance on both consoles but later released an Xbox one X specific patch that increased the memory budget that allowed for higher resolution textures and increased the distance at which objects were drawn in. Playing AC Origins post patch the pop in is almost non existent. I hope they do the same with Far Cry 5. Seems a waste not to take advantage of the 4 additional gigs of RAM that the X offers over the Pro.

It should be better, X1X has 3+ more gigs of faster memory for sharper textures and further texture filtering. I have heard though that PS4 Pro and X1X already match ultra textures on PC, so maybe texture filtering could be improved 10' or so?

It’s such a beautiful game on the Xbox One X. My only couple of complaints would be the water(which looks like chocolate puddin) and the geometry of the apples in the trees. Other than that I’m really enjoying my trek around Montana!
Omg! It looks amazing on the x as it should, i see a big difference but the pro version still looks really good as well.
The x version is clearer, more detailed and colorful while the ps4 is blurry and smudged. Kudos for ubisoft for utilizing the x's true power unlike some devs.

Looks great on the X, probably in line with Origins, just wish Xbox had VR :-( It would also make the dogfights way better/easier, I hate doing any cockpits outside of VR now cause I can't track the target and fly without loosing them or my bearings.
I played over 100 hours on the old xbox, decided to upgrade to the xbox x, now i do run a 1080p TV, so wasnt expecting much in the way of better graphics, but one thing i was really surprised at was the amount of scene popping i was noticing on the xbox x, and the render distance didn't seem any further, about the only thing i noticed as a positive was it seem to run smoother, was it worth getting the xobx x for, short answer is no, not unless you have a 4K TV (which is my next investment)

Games like this, Red Dead 2, Cyberpunk, Evil Within 2, and others really has pushed most third party buys for me on XBox. Hopefully we do see them begin to push out amazing first party coming up as well, but really glad to have seen XBox rebound over the past few years. Replaying this again now on Series X, and to think I almost only went with PS5 for this gen. XBox has been coming back for a bit now. And every now and then, even last gen, we’d see some amazing titles that did have a visual difference between PS and XBox. Great time to be a console gamer. This title does need a 60 fps update though. If Days Gone can push out what it does on PS5, surely we can get this on Far Cry and Red Dead.

You know these types of things are possible only because of the journalists who review these technical aspects of video games. Most people don't realize they are playing a badly optimized video game until they understand the difference between a great experience and a bad one. I mean let's be honest, we all played Goldeneye back on the N64. Well, that game runs very very poorly but we didn't know any better. Thanks to the folks at DigitalFoundry (namely the person speaking in this video) they are educating the masses and more people are realizing what the threshold of "acceptable" should be in games and that is a SOLID 30fps with minimal frame skips/tearing.
So I just want to applaud you guys, thank you for doing these videos and we reap the benefits of the spread of information, these game is gorgeous and it runs very very well, the experience is nearly flawless in performance and it's a breath of fresh air.
As a Playstation Pro user, Xbox 1 X looks really great. I wish Microsoft had more exclusives though. I might buy Xbox One X to play 3rd party games and PS4 Pro for 1st party games.

Playing this gem right now on the Series X since it dropped on the game pass, with the frame boost. I have the game installed on an external HDD running FPS boost and I am loving it. Yes this games are cinematic and the chaos is awesome but this is not what these games are known for, those frame dips CAN be brutal, but I'm say personally that this game looks awesome and runs great on the Series X even when you don't have it installed internally.

I have a $1500 PC and can't play AAA games at 4K ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ this shit's pretty impressive.
I'm gonna call bs on that, unless you way overpaid for your pc. A $1500 pc will get you a 1080 and an i7, and you'd be able to play most stuff at 4k/60.
I should have been more specific; CDN$1500! So like, $400 American lol. And I didn't build it recently. OC'd 970 and 4690k. Along with mobo/ram/storage/case/all the other bells and whistles $1500 is a conservative estimate. Pretty baller for my needs but definitely not enough for 4k30, let alone 4k60 :)

Switch the game to High from Ultra and you can play this easily at 4K30 on an RX 580.
That's dope. I don't know what the future looks like for me so I'm not super worried about buying a 4k monitor and future-proofing, but I do have a 1440p 144hz on the way, I heard that's basically the sweet spot right now :)

I've only been playing the game on the Xbox One X, and it looks incredible. I find myself in awe at all the detail. The native 4k presentation, which I was not expecting, given the size and scope of the game, is just the icing on the cake.
Nice to see that the One X is capable of a Native 4K presentation for an open-world game. I own a One S and Pro but considering buying the X. I am expecting the PS5 to be out November 2019 though, so I am hesitant.
