So was the first CES with the PR7000 1975? I thought it was 1973? Love this, we owe Jim a lot for his accomplishments. I never knew about all of the financial struggles. Excellent documentary, really enjoyed it 👍

It was so clever and adorable how he convinced the car salesmen how to come listen to his frequency Energizer.

Wow. I've been a fan of Jim's for a long long time. But this deep dive is all new to me. Btw, I'm here because I just purchased Jim's personal FAP V1 tube surround sound decoder. It's just fascinating to me to that Jim's technology is still kicking around in the latest Atmos matrix decoding technology that is currently owned by Dolby. I was hoping to hear more about his thoughts on matrix surround decoding, but I guess this is more of a car oriented channel? At any rate, it's still wonderful to hear from both the man himself and those that were close to him. We miss you, Jim! 😕

The Fosgate PR250 "The Punch" 3 knob preamp unit was the least fussy and best addition to my system, then and now. That is, once I tapped my amp for the 17.5V +/- power . Every other preamp EQ that I tried, sounded boomy and harsh. RIP, Mr. Fosgate.

I was late to the car audio game, late 2000’s. This year makes 15 years of doing it professionally. I discovered Rockford Fosgate right away and fell in love! I have tried other brands just to try them out and say I gave them an honest try. I always switch back to Rockford. Best audio equipment ever! RIP Jim, your legacy will live on.

I started with fosgate in 1990 and I did the same exact thing. I’ve tried most brands and have always suck with rf. Just nothing is the same.

I dont care who you are in the car audio world, you've heard of Rockford Fosgate. First set of subs I ever owned were 12" Punches. They got really loud on 500 rms and sounded incredible. Plus, I dont EVER hear anything bad about any RF products.

Yep, I work at an authorized Rockford dealer in the early 2000's. We had a demo van with 6 power dvc 15s. Three 1100a2's a 800a4 and a epx2 symmetry. My first name brand amp, was a punch 100

My favorite best sounding amps by rockford in my opinion are the Trans-Nova amps. 50M,50X2, 250M,250.2,500.2, 1000a2,1100a2.
Sound is so linear, clear and precise!
I wonder who owns the patent now?
Looks like Radial Engineering out of canada.

Not everything of course but some amazing stuff was invented or immensely improved BECAUSE of adversity. Just by the masses of people simply doubting you and your vision compels many to go above and beyond to create works of art that change the landscape for ever and set the standards.
