The boost aura over Mario from the boost panel is not Mario red it is the same color as the panel itself. Which might mean that it rewards you for being in first or being first to hit it.
Mario does not seem to go any faster than the other racers who pass over the boost panel, the game isn't finished yet so it's possible the visual effect hasn't been implemented properly

If this ends up happening I hope they release a tiny patch update to MK8 on switch 2 that finally fixes sunset wilds (so not necessary but would be so appreciated bc that’s literally that tracks entire gimmick and they just left it out)

I was figuring that on certain laps a change would occur on the track that would set you on a completely different path from the previous lap, sort of like in sonic and sega all stars racing transformed, where usually the first two laps are pretty similar with a major twist happening on the third lap to make the course completely different, one example is on the third lap of seaside hill, instead of having a standard race through the ruins over the ocean, the ruins at the start of the course lower down into the water, where you then have a boat race beneath the ruins across the water.
It seems obvious to me that it's this. The video clearly starts on lap 2 and there's signage that points to us going in a loop after heading left at the beginning of the track.
To increase the game's replayability, each character should earn XP, allowing them to enhance their stats and unlock various skins upon leveling up, similar to the mechanic in Mario Kart Tour.

What’s good, dev here. Best theory is open world mario-kart. Nintendo WILL take advantage of the system’s power capability. Road textures and instances are EXTREMELY expensive (graphic) wise. Whatever gimmick is coming to the game, the biggest feature will most certainly be the maps.
To me that first idea sounds the most interesting, so there wouldn't be a definitively best character in the game like in previous games, so you can pick one that fits your playstyle. (such as if you pick bowser you'd want to play aggressively and if you pick mario you'd want to get speed boosts and go out of your way for boost panels and if you're playing as yoshi you'd want to aim for trick ramps) I think it would make it a lot more replayable.

I think a good way to make up for how much fewer courses there’ll be than 8DX is alternate versions of existing courses. Nighttime for this one, but something else for others. If Toad’s Factory comes back, we could also have supercharged Toad’s Factory where every obstacle is faster. Or we could get an ice stage with spots to fall in the water, but also a summer variant where water is the only option, and previously frozen passageways are unveiled. Maybe a Flower Kingdom track where the alt version has a crazy wonder effect activated. With a similar gimmick for the game’s Bowser Castle stage based on… Well, Wonder’s Bowser Castle. Honestly, given the high fidelity nature of 8DX, it might be the only way to freshen up old tracks. Especially if they plan on bringing back any 8 originals. Sweet Sweet Canyon being invaded by Ant Troopers. Twisted Mansion during the daytime when the ghosts have gone to sleep. Mount Wario turning into a series of rushing river rapids in the wake of a massive Angry Sun fueled heat wave. Cloudtop Cruise but the whole thing is a massive storm except for the previous stormy part that is now its eye. Hyrule Circuit but it’s been enveloped by the Twilight Realm. Stuff like that!
You are getting 24 original course than 16. Not every course have equal worth, retro is slightly less and the booster course pass course is just half of quality of the base courses. 48 course will be good enough with DLC promised
i was thinking about the 7 theory, and came to my mind, what its gona have like cars type? like offroad car, street car or somthing like that. And before every cup you chose like 2, or 3 cars for each type and you need to pass that path to change for that car. I know its kinda crazy, even the 7 theory its insane.

Tbh, I really did enjoy the Sonic All-Stars Racing games cuz unlike most Mario Kart games (except DS), there were massive mission modes that helped you familiarize with the controls of the games! It's time for that new Mario Kart to do the same...or even better!
Okay, Theory 7 with the pitstops. I'll help out with the "sounds absolutely insane." - What if in certain Sprint Races, (Section Races) The track actually began to change the environment in some parts! Example: In a Winter/Rainstorm/Dirt Race, after a huge normal Section, the track turns from concrete to dirt/snow/rain, and a part of the track has a HUGE pit stop with a time limit to change the Kart (only the kart) to a different environment recommended Kart! So you can choose to skip it and use your original Kart (but have bad traction/acceleration/speed/ect) Or you can change it to get an edge of the competition and be able to handle better in the mid/end part of the race?
Here is what I would love to see in the next Mario Kart: character classes (Theory 1), the day/night cycle (Theory 2), better off-roading, the moving traffic cones (Theory 5), everyone getting their own costumes (Theory 8), and the vehicles working better on certain types of terrain than others (Theory 6).
I predict that this particular clip is showcasing an elimination mode of sorts. 24 racers race to the summit of the Mushroom Mesa as more and more Chain Chomps close in from behind. Chain Chomps also gain speed from Boost plates. This is one of 6 to 8 hub worlds for a story and mission mode, multiple obstacle walled off tracks unique to single player mode and some that might make an appearance for online and multiplayer modes. Yoshi’s bag is just a collectible for this course, enough collectibles will unlock either drivers and kart pieces or earn spendable special coins to purchase drivers etc.
Not trying to brag but I hope in the next Mario kart they add more randomness. I am really good at Mario kart. Therefore in 8 deluxe, I get bored easily since in first place the only items you can receive are coins bananas ect. I never really get to experience any of the other unique items like the crazy 8 or the lightning. I understand it’s a balancing choice, but regardless. I also hope they make the characters stats more clear. If it wasn’t for the internet, I would have no idea that the character you choose has any effect on your speed and whatnot. These are just a few issues that I hope are fixed in the new Mario kart.

Knockout rounds could be a thing but a separate game mode, especially online.. People have no patience to wait for other racers to finish especially if they are already out in the race. They will quit the current race and start another one.. It's like in Tetris 99. If you lost, you can spectate or just quit and start again.
or what if the new mode would be that we could made the new track just like Mario maker but now Mario Kart Maker and the track they showed from the trailer is track created by some player
One thing I don't want is characters like Link, Inkling or Villager. I want it to stay Mario characters only. It's Mario Kart not Nintendo Kart. I only want characters from the mainline Mario games, Donkey Kong Country, Yoshi games, Wario Land, Warioware, Mario RPG, Paper Mario and the Mario & Luigi series.
Maybe the tracks are more open because they won't be like a circuit, maybe they are like "get to the finish line as fast as you can by finding the fastest route" like a sonic game
Mario Kart Tour does have tons of character/costume ideas they could use. The maps could be more open, just to make it feel more complete like with behind the Yoshi house. Some things being off, empty might just be because they do use a special empty version for the trailer, the Mario boost could also be that not everyone has one yet, to prevent Mario losing first place, or a first place effect
maybe they go the smash bros ultimate route and just add every character that ever has been in mario kart plus some new ones. i havent played tour but i imagine they have a lot
Interesting theories. Your final one would offer an interesting solution to the excessive chaos that would have to be expected with 24 racers, once items come into play. I find it curious that such an important part of the game wasn't shown at all in the preview, and it made me think that we can maybe expect big changes in the way items will work. As of right now, unless you are first, maybe second, or 12th, the race will feel like an all-out war, with items coming from all directions. If you double the racers, that might actually get too overwhelming. Your theory could help a bit here. So in the first race, they would fully lean into the chaos, and then reduce it with each race. Possible. Though I still believe that items will take a bit of a backseat in this game.
I love these theories but I think it would be a lot better if we would get a Track Builder game mode. Knockout seems so unneeded since we already have Battle Mode and Modders
your knockout mode could be good but it should be like if you're eliminated you get influence the racer either by throwing stuff or all of them in a group to annoy them on the tracs

Welcome to game theory. My theory is that there is gonna be a damage mode where everything you get bumped or drive into or get hit by something you lose health. There is also fuel and the pitstop is to heal yourself. You can add a team mode into that idea and whichever team have the most points by the end of the cup wins. The reason there's a panel and mario gets boosted is that there might be abilities for certain characters. Like super smash bros. Like if bowser could spawn goombas or steal a player from the other team while mario could get a leaf or boost (from boost panel) to active some sort of mode like super speed or fly. The reason there are ramps is maybe there is a shortcut or a ability for someone to get or maybe glider panel.
I think there’s going to be a track based on the Rainbow Road from the Mario Movie. Because if Donkey Kong’s design in this game is based on the Mario Movie, there has to be a track from that

I think 50 characters is a good amount considering that there are 24 racers on the track. It’d be nice to see some variety and this is a great opportunity to bring over rpg and spinoff characters into the big Mario spin offs such as Mario Kart! Lowkey doubt this will happen but one can dream.

This also ties into my theory that the mystery glowing item is a "power item box" which gives much stronger versions of items, I think this because with 24 racers and bigger tracks a regular banana peel, shell of bob-omb would be much less effective and easier to avoid so we'll get much stronger items to compensate but these "power items" aren't as common so we have these special glowing item boxes scattered around the track

@@anthonyserrt151I think the track shown is NOT the main race. It is just hard to create tracks for 24 racers that you end up with New Super Mario Bros. levels. It can be knock out or battle royale kind of thing, or a story mode mission that happens in a special track / the hub itself.

I don’t think they would do the different character classes because certain characters would have a huge advantage or disadvantage on older tracks as they won’t be tailored for that gimmick. Like some old tracks may have lots of jumps but not a lot of boost pads and vice versa.

Here is what I would love to see in the next Mario Kart: character classes (Theory 1), the day/night cycle (Theory 2), better off-roading, the moving traffic cones (Theory 5), everyone getting their own costumes (Theory 8), and the vehicles working better on certain types of terrain than others (Theory 6).

The racers already have the ability to fly, swim, and defy gravity. But I think racing with 23 opponents is a good start for a new concept.

I predict that this particular clip is showcasing an elimination mode of sorts. 24 racers race to the summit of the Mushroom Mesa as more and more Chain Chomps close in from behind. Chain Chomps also gain speed from Boost plates. This is one of 6 to 8 hub worlds for a story and mission mode, multiple obstacle walled off tracks unique to single player mode and some that might make an appearance for online and multiplayer modes.
Yoshi’s bag is just a collectible for this course, enough collectibles will unlock either drivers and kart pieces or earn spendable special coins to purchase drivers etc.
Also this showcasing the low settings of the Switch 2’s performance sliders, just my opinion 😊

Not trying to brag but I hope in the next Mario kart they add more randomness. I am really good at Mario kart. Therefore in 8 deluxe, I get bored easily since in first place the only items you can receive are coins bananas ect. I never really get to experience any of the other unique items like the crazy 8 or the lightning. I understand it’s a balancing choice, but regardless. I also hope they make the characters stats more clear. If it wasn’t for the internet, I would have no idea that the character you choose has any effect on your speed and whatnot. These are just a few issues that I hope are fixed in the new Mario kart.

Knockout rounds could be a thing but a separate game mode, especially online.. People have no patience to wait for other racers to finish especially if they are already out in the race. They will quit the current race and start another one..
It's like in Tetris 99. If you lost, you can spectate or just quit and start again.
I would absolutely love an adventure mode. Lego 2K Drive is one of my favorite kart racers outside of Mario Kart

Maybe the tracks are more open because they won't be like a circuit, maybe they are like "get to the finish line as fast as you can by finding the fastest route" like a sonic game

Mario Kart Tour does have tons of character/costume ideas they could use.
The maps could be more open, just to make it feel more complete like with behind the Yoshi house. Some things being off, empty might just be because they do use a special empty version for the trailer, the Mario boost could also be that not everyone has one yet, to prevent Mario losing first place, or a first place effect
maybe they go the smash bros ultimate route and just add every character that ever has been in mario kart plus some new ones. i havent played tour but i imagine they have a lot

Interesting theories. Your final one would offer an interesting solution to the excessive chaos that would have to be expected with 24 racers, once items come into play. I find it curious that such an important part of the game wasn't shown at all in the preview, and it made me think that we can maybe expect big changes in the way items will work. As of right now, unless you are first, maybe second, or 12th, the race will feel like an all-out war, with items coming from all directions. If you double the racers, that might actually get too overwhelming.
Your theory could help a bit here. So in the first race, they would fully lean into the chaos, and then reduce it with each race. Possible. Though I still believe that items will take a bit of a backseat in this game.
Maybe having 10 coins will give you a bigger boost

I love these theories but I think it would be a lot better if we would get a Track Builder game mode. Knockout seems so unneeded since we already have Battle Mode and Modders

Welcome to game theory. My theory is that there is gonna be a damage mode where everything you get bumped or drive into or get hit by something you lose health. There is also fuel and the pitstop is to heal yourself. You can add a team mode into that idea and whichever team have the most points by the end of the cup wins. The reason there's a panel and mario gets boosted is that there might be abilities for certain characters. Like super smash bros. Like if bowser could spawn goombas or steal a player from the other team while mario could get a leaf or boost (from boost panel) to active some sort of mode like super speed or fly. The reason there are ramps is maybe there is a shortcut or a ability for someone to get or maybe glider panel.
I think it would be very cool if there was an open world to explore in your kart. A story mode would also be so cool.
I think there’s going to be a track based on the Rainbow Road from the Mario Movie. Because if Donkey Kong’s design in this game is based on the Mario Movie, there has to be a track from that

I think 50 characters is a good amount considering that there are 24 racers on the track. It’d be nice to see some variety and this is a great opportunity to bring over rpg and spinoff characters into the big Mario spin offs such as Mario Kart! Lowkey doubt this will happen but one can dream.

One of the gimmicks is that every new stage has its own (small) gimmick, would be typical
I think the gimmick is that there are 24 racers now and thus the tracks are bigger.
This also ties into my theory that the mystery glowing item is a "power item box" which gives much stronger versions of items, I think this because with 24 racers and bigger tracks a regular banana peel, shell of bob-omb would be much less effective and easier to avoid so we'll get much stronger items to compensate but these "power items" aren't as common so we have these special glowing item boxes scattered around the track

Its going to be hilarious when none of these come true and the gimmick is just the 24 racers and big tracks for those 24 racers. I can see the stronger item box or ability box which is probably what that item is in the trailer but aside from these things I see no gimmick. I dont understand why people are having a hard time understanding that doubling the amount of racers is gimmick enough. It will completely change races to be so much more chaotic and harder to win.
@@anthonyserrt151I think the track shown is NOT the main race. It is just hard to create tracks for 24 racers that you end up with New Super Mario Bros. levels. It can be knock out or battle royale kind of thing, or a story mode mission that happens in a special track / the hub itself.

I don’t think they would do the different character classes because certain characters would have a huge advantage or disadvantage on older tracks as they won’t be tailored for that gimmick.
Like some old tracks may have lots of jumps but not a lot of boost pads and vice versa.
about wonder flower / wonder seed, maybe it WAS night, a wonder flower made it day, so now the wonder seed brings it back to normal (night)
