Not a correction, just a bit of nerdiness: there are devices (one is the "crown king") that help people cut molding. The hard part is figuring out which angle to cut a 45 degree molding to make a 90 degree turn. My husband -- also a huge McKinnon fan -- is very enthusiastic about his.
I would pay goooood money for Kate McKinnon and Nick Offerman to make the queerest, most backwoods, peak American carpentery show that has and ever will exist. I want to hear them talk about butt joints and pocket screws and maybe Megan Mullally pops in now and then to help shape some wood, polish some knobs, or admire the tooling...

I’m in my 60s now and I don’t know how old you are, but it does get easier. I struggled with that when I was younger, for many, many years.
