I received a message from Doreen asking me about all the tape on the beach in Magaluf so we had to go down and investigate.
Apparently there was something in the paper about it, but I must have missed it while we were away.

I have not missed Magaluf this year at all after all of these years. Just back from Benidorm on Saturday and the whole resort was chocablok day and night, I have not seen a resort so full up infact it was a bit too busy we struggled to get a seat however what a great atmosphere.
Thanks for keeping us posted, how about interviewing business owners, bars etc and asking them how this season has gone.

The state of the beach front on Magaluf, what a mess. I thought they wanted to extend the season not shorten it. Thanks Steve and Anita.
I will say it having been twice this year....the prom in magalif was terrible. It felt scruffy and uncared for in comparison to palmanova. It's lost its sparkle. the beach is still nice but the prom....naff this year. Not as much investment to date as palmanova.

Footpaths look really grimy . I’m surprised.
It will be worth it once all the work is complete. Another improvement for the area can only be a good thing.

@@SteveandAnitainMallorca as you say, they’ll want to complete before start of next season. I guess they’d rather annoy the late holiday makers more than the 2025 ones!! ☺️
If it will take several months then you want to start now and not later or you will crash into next years high season... Sounds intelligent. There is definitely a footfall change as the "18-30s" hotels transform back into family hotels but I can't remember the bars between Britannia & the strip in the 80s to today because 1) you only ever took 2 rolls of 36 film then and not 1000s like now and 2) there are a couple of huge chunks where Sol demolished their hotels and built new ones under their parent brands... I would love to see pix of the bars, hotels and road changes between then and now.. but it isn't the first time "Maga" demographic footfall routes will changed over the years.

Indications are Magaluf is set to become Magabrexit for young Brits! Businesses will pull out, and the strip will dramatically decline, notwithstanding mandatory credit card details and other personal details, why did they need to turn Wokealuf into another Palma Nova?
