Star Citizen has plenty of gameplay, even though it is still waiting on the majority of its gameplay. This week’s server wide event has been massively popular, despite the alpha level of bugs. Big fun doing massive capital ship battles.

Beauty of a ship. Still would rather have an Idris just to live a bit more of that carrier squadron dream, but this is a beast

Starfield has gameplay though. Crap game, but it has gameplay :)

Yeah we’re waiting for that. The events give some gameplay at least, but it also makes me crash in the hospital

Arguing about which one is better is just plain silly. They both suck in their own ways, and we the consumer are basically the ones losing out.

@@Pouncer_Fox speak for yourself. I am not loosing out. Star Citizen has provided me years of enjoyment and will continue to provide years of future enjoyment. Honestly, I have nothing against Starfield. I personally find it boring after the first few major quests. If it is someone else’s thing, that is cool for them. I am not arguing about which is better. That is subjective. The things I have mentioned or commented on are objective aspects of the whole thing. “Star Citizen doesn’t have lots of players” or “Star Citizen isn’t playable/have content”. The title of the video was a fun little commentary on the fact I can’t stand the loading screens in Starfield and they are a big part of why I stopped playing it.

Remind me, which game is finished and shipped to customers?

And the unfinished game is still 100% better than the finished one. Imagine what it will be like when it is released. (And the single player version, which is a more direct competitor, is scheduled for release in 2026.)

@@jaelzana As if SC isn't played by hundred of thousands people at the moment.

@@MrFWStoner the average daily player count is over 125,000. On steam charts the average daily player counts are under 10,000 for starfield. Starfield had a high of over 300,000 players. Star Citizen has an estimated 23 million plus accounts. Many of whom play periodically or are waiting for 1.0. So you were saying?

@@jaelzana I think you didn’t understand my point or I wasn’t clear enough. I play SC every day, I’m a wave 1 tester. What I meant was that SC has been shipped to people years ago.

@@MrFWStoner ah okay, totally misread your comment. My apologies. I see what you are saying. Though I feel it is important we acknowledge Star Citizen hasn’t been shipped to players. We are playing an unfinished alpha. It is very important we remember that. We do a major disservice to new players if we let them think the game itself has been shipped. This is an alpha test and that distinction is vital. Otherwise people are going to think the gameplay and bugs on the PU are the final game when they are not. I hear people say, “This game is trash, can’t even use an elevator.” Well. Not a game yet really. Still an alpha in development, so rather than bitch about a bug in public chat, players should search the issue council and contribute to the bug reports. It makes players unprepared for server wipes like what we are getting with Alpha 4.0 and gives them a valid reason to be upset about said wipes if we say, “This game is shipped.” Shipped will be 1.0. Where we will have finalized game systems, a higher standard of game performance, and no possibility of a server wipes ever again.
