Halle CLEARED the girlies. THE entire production of this song alone, wow. And the two sisters going solo to build their own images was one of the best decisions they could’ve made. Sure Chloe might’ve had some obstacles but she still gave VOCALS (and Treat Me). Once they start a new ChloexHalle era, they gone EAT.
Chloe still has A LOT of work to do to find her stride. I think hiring a sex therapist or sexuality doula may help her display feeling less inauthentic. I want her to win but she seems so defensive when the gp give her feedback which lead to her very low album sales

I can’t lie my soul has been starving for some meaningful music from black women, with no bad language, no nudity in the videos, no twerking etc. Halle has delivered this and more, it’s so stripped back and doesn’t revolve around a man or her body parts. Yes Halle! As soon as she dropped that teaser with the black girl hair line, I just felt it in my spirit that this was gonna be uplifting and reassuring for black girls. And I just KNEW it was because of the horrific discourse she got about her and her hair from POS that couldn’t handle her being The Little Mermaid. The memes about her locs, her eyes, calling her ugly, and everything but the child of god, it takes a toll. And she was only 18 when she was cast, that poor baby. Everything that Halle has been doing since TLM has been extremely healing for the little girl in me and this song is the icing on a very expensive, and intricate cake. I cry every time I play it, just like I cried every time I saw the first TLM trailer when it dropped. Halle has a healing energy to her and I can see that she’s taking that responsibility very seriously. Also WHO was the background vocals in the chorus because they AAAAATE I get chills from this song. I can feel myself heal a piece of the little black child in me each time I play it. I've been following the Bailey sisters since their locs were shoulder length. My 1st born, who's ten (11 in Oct.), the 1st song she sang in front of anyone who wasn't me, her dad, or my mom- was "Cool People". When they 1st signed with Beyonce, I was apprehensive, because we know what that industry does to people. Their parents kept them on track and raised them, along with their brother, so well. You can feel the environment of love, commitment, trust, and loyalty they grew up in, through them. They are magnificent. That you recognize them as great role models, I think that says you're on the right track. Of course, I'm biased. I try to teach my children not to be emotionally invested in people they don't know, however, if they are going to stan anyone- Halle and Chloe would be in my top 5 list.

I'm not a black girl. But I have beautiful black nieces. I've been a teacher 20+ years in the "bad" neighborhood I grew up in, and I've loved many children through the years. I've heard convos they didnt think i could hear. Sometimes kids are cruel and the insecurities can start SO young. The negativity some of our children wake and face everyday, that they're just not enough, it's crushing. I know half of that battle being a woman, and seeing the subliminal messaging EVERYWHERE in society, I can only empathize with my black sisters. This song was SO necessary. I've been following the Bailey sisters since their locs were shoulder length. My 1st born, who's ten (11 in Oct.), the 1st song she sang in front of anyone who wasn't me, her dad, or my mom- was "Cool People". When they 1st signed with Beyonce, I was apprehensive, because we know what that industry does to people. Their parents kept them on track and raised them, along with their brother, so well. You can feel the environment of love, commitment, trust, and loyalty they grew up in, through them. They are magnificent.
That you recognize them as great role models, I think that says you're on the right track. Of course, I'm biased. I try to teach my children not to be emotionally invested in people they don't know, however, if they are going to stan anyone- Halle and Chloe would be in my top 5 list.

I'm not a black girl. But I have beautiful black nieces. I've been a teacher 20+ years in the "bad" neighborhood I grew up in, and I've loved many children through the years. I've heard convos they didnt think i could hear. Sometimes kids are cruel and the insecurities can start SO young. The negativity some of our children wake and face everyday, that they're just not enough, it's crushing. I know half of that battle being a woman, and seeing the subliminal messaging EVERYWHERE in society, I can only empathize with my black sisters. This song was SO necessary.
