Ordered my new corvette 4/2/2022. So far 1Lt, because I'm cheap. This will be my 9th corvette. I'm 69 years old and don't want a car payment. Your videos have been inspiring. I'm curious how much I will be paying as far as the increases are concerned. Saw the 5 dislikes about the new corvette. BLIND spots are a concern . I'm still cheap enough to get the 1LT. I am getting the high spoiler. My dealership usually sells 2 corvettes a month. I want the senior edition corvette! Quiet as much as possible and smoother ride. No Z51. I have a 2004 Z06 with 15000 miles now. My body is changing, LOL. No louder exhaust. Did I say I was 69 years old? Always loved the corvette all my life. My needs have changed. Keep up the good work!

Mike, I tried a rural dealership here in SC and they told me they were not getting any. When I asked why, they told me because they don’t have a Corvette tech because they were not going to spend the money to have one when they see so few of them. So that’s the other edge of the sword. Thanks for the video and content.

I disagree with your MSRP reference for used C8. The used C8 market is flooded just look at your recent video of corvette world. The entire inventory show room is packed with C8’s and everyone wants to get there hands on the ZO6. In the next 1-2 years the corvette prices for used vettes will drop. It all depends how patient you are. Supply and demand. And there is more supply than demand now. Plus factor in inflation and an inevitable recession. That’s my two cents

Great tips... They are all common sense. The Z51 pkg. is mentioned as an option you possibly DON'T need; & in that case is an unnecessary expense. I disagree: the base engine C8 has been dyno tested by many C8 owners after purchase. They were all putting out 525 hp+. If you do anything more than tapping the Go Pedal, the Z51 pkg. becomes a safety item. An optional brake upgrade is desirable, but VERY expensive. Me? I'd love "Option RC8" for any new one!

Can you explain the process/answer some questions if you want to pick up the C8 at the factory/Museum in Bowling Green? 1. Do you have to go through a dealer for this process ... if so why especially if you have secured your own financing or paying outright 2. Is the freight fee still assessed 3. Are you required to get insurance at the museum, etc. Or any other insight you can share. Thanks

Holiday Chevrolet is now a gouger. I wouldn’t buy from them. My C8 from Britain Chevrolet in Greenville, Texas is awaiting shipping at MSRP. NEED has nothing to do with buying a Corvette, get all you can AFFORD to upgrade resale value. If you’re a first time Corvette buyer, you’ll never regret getting all the options you can afford. Never buy based on so called “need”, there is no such thing on a Corvette. These so called rules apply to any high value, low production vehicle.

Mike, as always, really great information. Your tips are spot on and exactly as I did for my pre-owned "1" owner 2015 C7. My minor miss was with the dash de-laminating leather. "1" year newer and it would be a non-issue. I caught the door panel doing the same and had the dealer replace it as part of the purchase. I have some good feedback regarding the dash. Still very pleased with my purchase. C8 owners will be too! If they follow your guidance. Best to you.

If you think the C8 stingray is hard to get the Z06 will be even harder and I would be really surprised if you can buy one at MSRP. One thing to think about on options is a higher option car has much better resale value. For me it was well worth getting the HTC and Z51 that was a 1LT than spending a bunch of money on upgraded interior packages that are very expensive. I buy Corvette’s for the price for performance value. Not for luxury.

Great information Mike!!Picked up my first Vette December of 21 and love it. I think I kept most of the rules lol except at Ciocca there was no opportunity to test drive but I had owned Firebirds and knew what to expect. I actually was a lot more afraid that the view out of the convertible was going to be extremely claustrophobic with the top up but I don’t feel like that at all; the mirror/camera is excellent.

They are advertised for MSRP. But when you got,to get it if it is still available it is 10 to 25k over MSRP! WTF? I want another Vette, but I am also a Porsche fan. I tried to get on with Rick, sent him a letter and didn’t get anywhere.
You can see my post as to my allocation. Went to small local dealership in Central PA. Lucky for me it only took 6.5 months once I decided to try to get a C8. But, I was the person who was at the right place at the right time for once!!!
I’ve been on Chemo since August 2019 for Pancreatic Cancer, so time is precious. But I seem to be doing well!
I’m waiting delivery, after hearing it was built 2/8/2022. But, since I’m in Winter weather here in PA, I don’t plan to drive the C8 until the stones are off the roads.
I also got on the MacMulkin ZO6 list, but I’m way down > #1600. So I hope to live as long as it takes me to get a ZO6, that will be about a Dog Year or so.

Great job Mike, giving sensible advice to C8 shoppers. I strongly agree with suggesting that buyers think about what options their choosing, particularly in the case of the $6000+ Z51 package. If you have no intention of taking that car to the track, than save the money for better purposes. Many people buy that option because they think that they should, but will never use it to it's potential.

I disagree. Adding options for a few thousand is not going to break the bank when you're at this price point. If it is breaking the bank then you've over extended yourself in this purchase. As well, ppl have to consider the resale value (if you plan on selling). Not having certain options can make it hard to sell. Customers expect certain options.

I got Z51 in my 2009 C6. I think it was about $1,700 back then. NPP wasn’t included though.
Does seem a little on the expensive side as well as the bump up for HTC.
My build was just completed on 2/8/2022. $90,115
Waiting for delivery and to go to the dealership and plop down the money I’ve saved up for 33 years at the same job.
Going to keep the C6 and do my own testing between the two lol!!!
I opted for the Z51 for the upgrades. Held off on Carbon Fiber. It doesn’t do much for me. Another thing to cry over when it gets messed up!

    • @JJAAZZMan
      @JJAAZZMan 2 года назад

@@Raven77844 $6000 is a bit more than a few thousand but hey it's your piggy bank to spend any way that you like. It's not necessarily about " breaking the bank" but I believe that Mike's point was why spend money on something that you don't need if you don't plan to use it. Not sure if it matters much pertaining to resale value as there will always be some people that will want certain options, while others might care less. I buy a car for MY wants/needs , not for the next potential owners wants or needs. But, to each his own.

Great rules. Note, however, that you can in fact find new C8s immediately available at some dealers (I saw several here in the Orlando area), but of course, they are very heavily marked up and you have to go with the specs they have (you will not have a lot of choices, there are not many of them). Keep up the good work.

By highly modified, are you including the addition of PPF, ceramic coating, Splitter, spoiler, and rockers? Or are you referring to exhaust and other mechanical mods?

So obviously you got the Z51 package. Do you not love it? Seems like your trying to talk people out of this package. It obviously looks better and people say it drives better. Do your brakes squeak?

I never understand if the msrp 60K why they are try to sell 90K. Chevrolet is kidding us? for example if you buy bmw or porsche it's almost same price with MSRP. even Corvette not perfect car in this segment. i can buy porsche rather than C8 if im gonna pay 90-100K. i'm not stupid. german, Japanese or italian okay. but chevrolate not deserved 90-100K. sorry guys. it's the reality! byeeee
