    I have now changed my transmission filter twice in less than the amount of time that GM says you should do it once... This is needed far more often than GM claims. Have you changed yours yet? 🤔

      @HorsePowerObsessed do you think GM overestimated the mileage intervals of the transmission filter? I have been looking around to find out issues showing up with the c8 around 20k - 35k mileage after hearing from you and Brink of Speed about transmission issues, and then getting an unpleasant experience of my own.

And that's if I'm lucky enough to get to that and the only reason I'll be able to do that is because my whole family pretty much died and I'm about to get it inheritance the song by the vet and I hope I crash it I hope I die in it too... I'm not convinced about the DCT filter flush, especially like you showed with your filter, if it's already dirty and you do the flush procedure, I wonder if it doesn't go into bypass mode and just dump all that sludge into your valve bodies. And the need for the initial DCT filter change may be far earlier than just 7.5k miles. Great video, thank you.!

He told me it was done that way at the dealer because they have the the tool hooked up to the car aready and they can. But is not a needed step in the filter change. Great video, Justin! I have 2400 miles on my 2023 C8 Stingray and still can do the free oil change and transmission filter change before it expires. Sounds like you definitely recommend doing that even early instead of waiting until the mandatory 7500 mile transmission filter change. Didn’t know if changing the trans filter earlier than 7500 miles would hurt anything. I’ll still do it again at 7500 miles per GM requirements but you’re probably right that “over maintaining” isn’t a bad thing especially if you want it to last. Any other words of wisdom or advise? Thanks again for a great channel! 😁👍

    I have 1900 on my C8 Z06 and I got a P0700 code yesterday and my car wouldn’t shift out of 1st gear. That code is related to the “transmission”. Going to be changing my Filter ASAP
    In the meantime I cleared the code just like a corvette tech instructed me to do and drove it hard. Everything seems to be fine for now. He said 9 times out of 10 you just need to clear the code and drive it hard and it fixes the issue,
    still very concerning.

    it's a cartridge oil filter and they're called keyhole slots

    Whybdo u need a better oil change tank ? That works fine .

    • @HorsePowerObsessed
      @HorsePowerObsessed  Месяц назад +1

      It absolutely works fine! It will be kind of a pain to empty though. The better ones can be emptied with an air compressor for cleaner and easier oil recycling, and things of that nature.

    Amsoil signature series and filter far surpasses mobile 1 or gm a/c delco . Also amsoil for better tranmission fluid and gear oil ...

  • @bobshowup2501
    @bobshowup2501 Месяц назад

    What in the transmission is wearing down and causing so much debris in the fluid that causes these transmission to need a fluid change so much and causing so many failures? most other cars don't get a fluid change in the transmission for 50,000 miles or sometimes ever and they run fine. GM needs to go back to a manual.
