My grandpa’s 97 Dakota with the 3.9 v6, went 310,000 miles. I’ve have an 06 Dakota with the 4.7 going on 100,800 miles. They’re great trucks, wish they were still made.

It also has the original plastic bed liner and rear side window and original stock AM/FM STEREO and speakers. It runs great. It now has 154k miles on it. ZERO RUST . I love it so much. I never want to sell it it’s mine forever
mine had the original plastic bedliner too and when I took it out I noticed it scratched the hell out of the bed basically wore off the clear off it. do not order a truck with a bedliner again!
Great presentation on the video. Makes me more excited that I just bought one. Wanted one of these for a long time. Just purchased 07/20 a 2003 Club Cab RT Black with Taupe colored leather interior. 50k actual miles. Original paint and in great condition. No mods as I prefer stock. PW, PL, AC, Power driver's seat, tilt, CD, Overhead console, Cruise control. Can't seem to find production numbers for interior colors and leather. Anyway, thanks again for the great video.
I have the 2000 r/t and have done work to it. Maybe you could make a video of the simple and the aggressive after market parts and the simple ness it takes to make it 400hp
This is a good idea. I have a currently stock 2000 R/T and want to make it faster in the near-ish future and have been having a somewhat hard time finding the info im looking for

Hi Daddy Kurtis, I have a 2000 Quad Cab 4x4 with the 5.9, I've been looking for a while for the build numbers on this combo, do you have any idea of what those numbers might be ? 2000-2003
@@ezostew they come stock with the 5.9L don’t remember exactly wat years they started offering the 5.2L and 5.9L on quad cabs but it was either 01-03 or 02-03

U said 7 seconds isn't that quick by today's standards. You'd have to get a 6.2 Chevy with 400hp to run that or a a 5.7 ram with 395hp. That being said a RT of the late 90s or early 2000s would be right at the top of the food chain when it comes to today's trucks performance.
Yes this is BS, the truth is most cars and trucks today have pretty weak powertrains even by "todays standards" Its not like everyone is driving hellcat challengers and coyote mustangs. The fact is I can run my 20 year old stock dakota r/t at a stoplight and still be faster then 95% of the cars on the road today.....
The power they made at the time wasn't bad at all mine made 215 to the wheels with intake exhaust and tuner. What's really nice though is the magnum that's in it is actually very modifiable. Mine personally had a 408 stroker done to the original engine and makes around 400rwhp and wrtq

I picked up a 2002 dodge Dakota a few months ago 3.9l v6 Turning it into a pre runner . It’s a quad cab . It’s a beast
6.9 seconds 0-60 according to motor week with a lateral grip of 0.83g. I'd say that's pretty fast for a 4000lbs truck
These were nice performance trucks back in the day. 👍
Buying this truck ! 10000%
the 1999 5.9 RT also comes in a yellow not sure on the shade but my dad bought it off the lot in 99 in yellow and it only has 32k miles on it now
I’m in process of putting a 5.9 in my 01 Dakota . Gonna be fun .
I love that this is faster than the 1st gen lightning but no one talks about it !
Although the power isn't all that impressive anymore, the r/t Dakota is a very good handling pickup truck on twisty roads.
true, around town the 350tq isn't bad. but its definitely gutless :):)

You want to wake that truck up put 4:11 or 4:56 gears in it. A lot of those truck had 3:23 or 3:55 gears. Makes them sluggish of the line.
Dakota R/T's actually came with 3.92 gears from the factory. Although 3.92's were optional on other trims, 3.55's were most common.
Only Dodge would have a beefed up motor option trim level and yet CRANK WINDOWS!!! GO HOME DODGE, YOU’RE DRUNK!!
