@@tammyruggaber3498 They went to make one but didn't finish it. There's a 15 year box set coming out this year with 5 tracks they recorded for the second record on it.
0:36 - Say Please 3:20 - The Right Place 7:27 - Soul Singer in a Session Band (Bright Eyes) 11:30 - Dear God 16:58 - Man Named Truth 21:12 - Baby Boomer 25:04 - Just to Know What You've Been Dreaming (Will Johnson) 29:39 - Whole Lotta Losin' 32:43 - Smokin From Shootin (My Morning Jacket) 37:45 - The Sandman, the Brakeman and Me 41:44 - Map of the World 46:44 - Losin Yo Head
I cannot even believe this band EXISTED they're so good! Just discovered them earlier this evening - to find out that that they came and went - and more than decade ago? Grateful they were able to have this brief and blessed time together.
That sucks. I watched this when it first aired on PBS. Yes, so good. As someone else said…they really should have gotten together again and made another album. Hey, better late than never! Keep diggin’ for these hidden gems.
Just glad i found them at all - another 13 years missed would have REALLY been a bummer! With this much talent it’s a wonder the stars aligned even long enough for this one album of songs. I guess for me it’s also the musical and emotional generosity that makes what comes out not just great, but sublime - not an ego in the joint.
Thank you so much for posting this. The live version of Smokin from shootin they played at this concert is my favorite. Someone took it down nearly 10 years ago, I was so heart broken. Hearing it now for the 1st time again in ten years. 🥲
I really wish they'd make another album
same!
Me too! So great.

Mike Mogis just shredding it... ❤🎉
M. Ward. A living legend.
Will Johnson is one of the best humans ever. Love MOF
Can't believe they made it on this show. Been rocking this album lately
Such a talented group of musicians!
they are monsters, but there's an absolute beast behind that kit
Will Johnson 💙
that was an epic interview at the end.
Map of the World is my favourite song.
Monsters of Folk is such a funny and genious Band Name.
Do you have the full episode of Austin City Limits from 1980? Joe Ely performs with special guest Butch Hancock, and Jerry Jeff Walker performs.
Anyone have rhe mp3 of the show?
I love Jim James so much, but I have to correct him. Will Johnson is “Denton’s own treasure” nevertheless, he’s Texas’s treasure.
Just because it’s not acceptable doesn’t mean it ain’t alright 😉
wow, this is too much!
Smoking gun ❤
Okay but why are they all wearing suits?
34 summers...?? So that would be 17 each .?? Still minors 😑
They were born in January
