This poor kids parents had to get a call from the embassy to find out their child had been murdered. Let that sink in. He was surrounded by enemies and some of them he brought with him. I live in Greece and Ive followed this case closely as many have, I have no idea how big of a deal it is in the US but its been huge here. Ive seen a lot of lies in the comment sections so I want to give you the - NUANCED - full picture as presented mainly by the man who is suspected of dealing the killing blow and the girl who was at the epicenter of this incident as their stories have been practically the same during police hearings: The girl is of Serbian origin and she came to the Barcode Club in Zakynthos with Henderson who also had a couple of friends with him there. They were dancing and after taking a selfie where she was grinding on him, one of the guys who would later become a suspect approached them and asked her why she was dancing with an American when they were so many Serbs around. At this point, Henderson got upset and splashed his drink at the would-be suspect who hit Henderson in the head. It is at this point that Henderson smashed a bottle in his head and took off when he saw a large group of the would-be suspects friends approach him. The group then chased him down and beat him to death. If anyone thinks that one deserves to be beaten to death over this incident then so be it, but do not believe nor spread lies about Henderson harassing girls and provoking people for no reason at this club.

It's sad that this happened. These Serbian guys did an awful thing. Greece is a country with very low criminality, incredibly hospitable and warm, and if crime happens, it usually is by foreigners. And in this case it's true as well. I don't know if Bakari is a good or bad person, because in a video about anyone's death there would usually be no talk about any negative personality aspects and it might very well be that Bakari said something offensive back. But whatever happened, nobody should have ever done that to Bakari, and especially not in large groups. I live in Greece and Ive followed this case closely as many have, I have no idea how big of a deal it is in the US but its been huge here. Ive seen a lot of lies in the comment sections so I want to give you the - NUANCED - full picture as presented mainly by the man who is suspected of dealing the killing blow and the girl who was at the epicenter of this incident as their stories have been practically the same during police hearings:
The girl is of Serbian origin and she came to the Barcode Club in Zakynthos with Henderson who also had a couple of friends with him there. They were dancing and after taking a selfie where she was grinding on him, one of the guys who would later become a suspect approached them and asked her why she was dancing with an American when they were so many Serbs around. At this point, Henderson got upset and splashed his drink at the would-be suspect who hit Henderson in the head. It is at this point that Henderson smashed a bottle in his head and took off when he saw a large group of the would-be suspects friends approach him.
The group then chased him down and beat him to death.
If anyone thinks that one deserves to be beaten to death over this incident then so be it, but do not believe nor spread lies about Henderson harassing girls and provoking people for no reason at this club.

Laganas (on Zakynthos) is a party destination for hard-drinking, hard-partying young tourists. It isn't exactly a surprise that the attackers weren't Greeks. Besides the 'selfie' incident, the Serbs were angry that the 2 Americans had put their beer bottles on the Serb's table. When you've got a group of young drunks, it doesn't take much to set them off.

It's sad that this happened. These Serbian guys did an awful thing. Greece is a country with very low criminality, incredibly hospitable and warm, and if crime happens, it usually is by foreigners. And in this case it's true as well.
I don't know if Bakari is a good or bad person, because in a video about anyone's death there would usually be no talk about any negative personality aspects and it might very well be that Bakari said something offensive back. But whatever happened, nobody should have ever done that to Bakari, and especially not in large groups.
