people complaining about practical daily cars tend to forget that not everyone is an enthusiast. some people just want to get from A to B with all their luggage and their kids without actually having to think about the car itself
My mom and I test drove the hrv, while she was merging onto the highway was why we didn’t get it, I was afraid for our lives, I told her to speed up, she said she was flooring it, and a large Mac truck was behind us, that was a safety issue, we ended up getting the Mazda cx-30 187 hp
Terry Tarbeck I’m so happy with my 2020 HRV despite a couple of things like the back seat has no ac vent. Mines not the entry level but not the leather either. I forgot what’s it’s called. Not the Sport. It has sun roof, push start, Anti-theft alarm 🚨. I bought it in that grey metallic. I’m a drive about town gal so it’s perfect for me. Any one noticed that a lot of this reviews with cars under $25,000 always mention engine power, don’t have automatic driving, BLA BLA BLA. Buy a $50,000 plus car & get al the whistles & Bells you want. I Have a 2016 Honda HVR & Love it. You didn’t mentioned that when driven properly you can get 32 to 39 miles per gallon. You didn’t mention that if your in sales or self employed you can actually carry mor samples or merchandise to make you money! Sometimes people don’t need a car for fast racing on roads that the highest speed limit is 65 MPH & it drives & handles great even at 80 mph. You want to be lazy & pompous buy a Tesla, spend your money. The average person just wants a car that can drive you from point a ti b comfortable. Dependable & yea a couple of gadgets don’t hurt. That’s why I can’t wait for the 2921 HRV to come out. I’m totally in.
I got that feeling too.I think it's great car, still gives you 1.8 L 4cyl engine, not baby 1L engines now sold.I like the looks, looks mature,sporty,125kw is more than enough power, spacious, comfortable.I don't see anything wrong with it,this reviewer is some of the street drugy, lol, tired of life.
Driving experience is basically the same across the board these days. Even the cheapest cars don’t have much of a difference from higher end ones. It’s all toys and parts these days.
It's all the same unless you're drive aggressive, racing ahead of cars, to slam your brakes at the red light as the car you cut off raced ahead casually pulls up next to u & youre avoidin eye contact bc youre dumb

I love my hrv. It has automatic breaking for lane departure & close contact, its roomy but not a gas guzzling SUV. The redesign (4drs u can see) is really nice too. I'll be trading in
Hey Matt - What company would you say has the best media system/screen in this SUV segment? I was looking at getting a Toyota C-HR and was really impressed with theirs, Hondas not so much, the Kona and the Mazda were ok/average.
Very aftermarket looking screen Honda is dying in Australia. They hand a chance with the new accord but the dealer screwed up as usual and didn't bring in the 2l turbo and priced the pathetic 1.5l turbo at around 50k ! Honda needs to fire it's dealer here. Accord is a massive seller in USA and canada
Yeah, I'm stuck between XV, HRV and Mazda 3. Honda has much more space, a much better sun roof, magic seats but suck in other areas like safety tech, infotainment, GPS, engine power etc.
Joaquin I agree. I just bought the HRV 2020 Hybrid. It’s not the entry level or the highest with leather. It’s push start, lane departure, blind spot and sun roof etc...but the fact there is not 1 cup holder in the back seat or 1 ac vent. That really takes away. I wish I would have gone another route. $20,000 isn’t really a cheap car as people say. There are many cars on the road brand new for well under this and the same bells and whistles for about $6000 less. I know these start at $20,000 but when you go entry level which doesn’t have lane detection (I don’t think) and those bells and whistles. My sister begged me to get a Honda due to the reliability and being a tad more costly but it’s worth it. She’s had Honda’s and now the brand new MDX Acura with leather and wood trim. $65,000. It’s not much different then the luxuries I have and or need in mine. But I never dreamed my car $24,000. And I’m called a cheapo? I’m not rich I’m lower end income. I just saved for a long time for the right down payment. I love my HRV except missing backseat features I stated already plus......My drivers side is still pull back. PUSH BACK TOO. NO electric button for drivers seat. That makes no sense. I went up for the bells and whistles I felt I needed. No electric seats Honda, really? I’ve had it just over a month. So I’m stuck.
I have the 2015 VTL model and I love it...I would’ve expected 2021 Hrv to change a lot more. E.g info system, rear passenger cup holder, Apple/android car play should’ve been rolled out way sooner as well as Sat Navigation , electric seat, 2L engine. Etc Go electric ⚡️ pls
im in Malaysia and this HRV RS version has already available in my country since 2019. basically same with previous version but with more accessories. hoping for honda to release turbo version of honda HRV
After hearing a couple of horror stories about the auto emergency braking activating for no reason causing accidents, I'm actively avoiding cars that have it! I mean, why would it be needed anyway, unless the assumption is that the driver is drunk and can't brake for themselves in an emergency! Same with the lane keeping assist; the active type keeps bouncing the car left and right in the lane so the driver is constantly wrestling with the steering wheel (particularly bad on Subarus, which I drove) and the passive type beeps unnecessarily when you mean to change the lanes! The only useful active safety features imo are blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert; the rest I can do without.
Abdullatief Al Enizi omg I know right? I just bought bought the 2nd level up 2020 HRV and no cup holders or ac vents? Plus the drivers seat isn’t electric! I have to do it manually which is ok but I suffer from Advanced Rheumatoid Arthritis. I went up a level for extras I felt I need.
Bluetooth connection to an Android is terrible. Honda service team will claim its as best it can offer. Biggest concern, when driving on a highway, can't hear the phone call, when volume turned up, have whistling sound during the call.
When this model came out it was pretty innovative compared to the competitors. Still beats most in terms of space an practically. Seems like they have been focused on the civic which is now class leading in that segment. Hopefully they put that same energy into the next generation which can’t be that far given this is the second facelift...
This reveiew seems kind of bias considering the "full spec" that he mentions only starts at 24,000, whereas many other crossovers start at 26,000 to start with, and thats minus the heated seats and a few other features this car does come with.
Good for oldies going shopping .like me . Base model is affordable , has a reversing camera and all this lane changing tech blind spot monitoring is not vital , if you are cautious , media tech is a bit disappointing
I returned mine. The battery is so small that the factory alam plus my video cam would drain the battery. Ive had to jump start mine 18 times before i traded it for the 2020 Honda civic.
That's weird i haven't heard of hrv owners w battery issues. I had the 2018,19 & 20 & never experienced any issues at all. I plan on getting the hrv redesign. But I hear many ppl wanting to buy the newer civics tho.
Screw the active safety rubbish, too many noisy things going off. just learn to drive. Also, they do have adaptors for USB that go into that socket you know.
Bob FromBrisbane What would be good in this hybrid type Car\SUV? I’m stuck. I just bought a 2020 level 2 HRV. The base entry level was missing some important additions. That’s why they start at $20,000. I was told Honda’s are very good cars for a little more money. I guess I got scammed.
After 2 months, I realise how user unfriendly the cabin and door storage layout is .. door bins are TINY and ONLY suited to bottles .. Centre console is TINY and akwardly placed too far to the rear.
Point the camera at the tail light, see if there's water in there yet. Point the camera in the spare tire area, see if there's water in there yet. Point the camera at your chest while you are driving on a hot day, see if you are sweating through your shirt because the AC is under powered. Be nice and quiet when the engine hits 2400 RPM's see if you can hear the exhaust heat shield rattle. The day I traded the 2016 HR-V off I was so glade the push button starter actually worked when they test drove it. It did go through the snow pretty good but that is my last honda (except for their motorcycles).
Pre GFC, Honda’s were designed by engineers, and very good one at that, but now they’re designed by bean-counters. They might be saving money in the short term but they’re losing customers by the bucket load. C’mon Honda, get your act together and send the accountants to the back room where they belong.
The HRV (this shape) has to be one of Honda's worst efforts. It is so slow, very noisy when pushed, has poor fuel economy, hasn't got much safety features and did I mention slow. It certainly doesn't feel like Japanese quality, but that maybe due to it being made in Thailand. No wonder that no one is buying it. I don't know how anybody could recommend it.
This car has a design flaw. I bought a 2021 HRV on March1, 2021 and noticed an irritating piercing whistling noise on my way home when I cracked open any front window or moonroof. I brought it back to Huntington Honda twice and they said they test drove 2 other new HRVs and they made the same horrible noise. So I'm basically told this is normal on all HRVs. I wonder if Honda has a design flaw or whether Huntington Honda is sitting on a bad batch?
My mother had the same issue, it was in the shop for a month and they finally figured it out, it was a rubber boot style thing in the firewall where cables and hoses go through.
@@glenbaines2097 Hi Glen, I just posted a 1 minute video of the noise from my car so people know this is a major problem that Honda has known about. How did you get the service department to continue to diagnose this issue. I brought it back to the dealer twice and they said it's a normal characteristic for HRVs, that their other HRVs have this same problem to. Did your mother get Honda Corporate involved or did they blow her off? Here's a message for anyone considering a Honda. I really suggest everyone stay away from Honda, especially from Huntington Honda in Long Island. Honda's aren't what they used to be, especially with their HR-Vs. Watch some links I'm attaching below. In one video filmed in 2018, it's about a 2018 HRV making the same annoying piercing whistling noise. Read the comments and you'll see that many other people over the last few years have had the same problem. You would think this issue would be addressed by now. But it has not. I brought my car back to Huntington Honda, Long Island twice and they keep telling me this whistling noise is standard, that it's technically not a defect since they have test driven and heard it from 2 other 2021 HRVs. The sales manager emailed me saying most of the HRVs make this noise. Another video link is the actual horrible noise from my one month old Honda HRV. Do you think you would be able to enjoy a car that makes this damn noise? Also, at the end of my one minute video shows rust inside and under my car. Rust on a brand new car! I found rust underneath the steering wheel column. Two local mechanics said that is not normal and cannot understand why rust is there, that there should not be any water under there. 2018 HRV Whistle Noise Video ruclips.net/video/VsvZ5fNrnuY/видео.html 2021 Whistle Noise Video ruclips.net/video/zfC9XPl8564/видео.html I should have bought a Subaru or Toyota. Anyone thinking about a HRV needs to watch my second link. It's a 1 minute video. If you think you can live with this whistle sound on a daily basis, god bless you. If you have good hearing, your ears will probably develop tinnitus. And if you think you'll just keep the windows rolled up to stop this noise, when then you're gonna pay thousands of dollars for gas, because air conditioning uses fuel.
@@carsguide I’ll look into that. i plan to keep mine at least 2 more years so it’s definitely worth doing. I’ll scout around and see who in Melbourne does them 🙂
I went to a honda dealership in Narellan, NSW just last friday and they said they can replace my 2019 RS unit with the new 2021 android auto/apple carplay unit. Idk who said that to you. The service person saidto me he will also change the bottom panels for the usb ports and what not.
i agree with u sir. i drive 2019 hrv, now is 2020, and i dont see any big differences from year to year.. facelift? well just a minor addition to the face, we really need something new..
please zombie tell me about it's competitors, make sure they are in his price range.tell me who has bigger engine or something so substantially more that it would sway a buyer from buying Hrv to something else?talk is cheap but when you look around there's not much to buy in price range of 33 basic Hrv -40 grand(which is luxury version).this reviewer seems tired of living, yet owns Hrv,of course you might find it boring, you already own one so face-lift is boring.never talks about reliability of the car, says 125Kw engine is slow, lol,I had Peugeot 308 95kw went fast as bullet.people today only care about cosmetic impressions, about media interface,no one cares about what matter in the car:engine, consumption, drive, handling, reliability, transmission, space, practicality, comfort. All those things come before stupid 7 inch screens and if it's on touch or not, lol.
They should have put The Android auto and Apple carplay live a couple of years ago. They are last to the game sadly. Now it's time for a new car. Electric! They could really be The best! I want it! New Electric hr-v NOW!
In Australia they are, but not worldwide. I don't think they care about the Australian market anymore. Australia's Honda Accord never got the new engine and transmission, even after a facelift it didn't.
No point in buying this, front looks uglier than the 2015 model. Only good thing is the wheels and the LED day time running lights. It also doesn't look different from the 2018 face lift model. Just wait for 2022 model.

@Andrew Roman if she didn’t floor it she would of been on the shoulder waiting for the traffic to clear, again something that is dangerous
How's the space for back seats
I can't stand these Hondas with the CVTs, they are simply too slow. Spend a little more and buy something more powerful.
Amazing car. It's all about the drive. People are too occupied with the infosystem these days. I like this car driven it. Good drive and reliable.

Why is the cargo space always in litres, we normally don't use it as a water tank.
Why isn't this model sold in the USA and Canada? (We also don't get the Honda Fit or the Toyota Yaris for 2021, both discontinued.)
Partly because of import taxes and regulations. Too expensive and not enough profit margin for manufacturers.
About the MagicSeats, are we allowed to fold up the seats blocking the entire rear mirror's view while we are driving? Is that allowed in Australia?
It doesn't block the view!

Do you like your car?
We sure do.
@@erikloupias7511 yes, we love it!!!
This car has a design flaw. I bought a 2021 HRV on March1, 2021 and
noticed an irritating piercing whistling noise on my way home when I
cracked open any front window or moonroof. I brought it back to
Huntington Honda twice and they said they test drove 2 other new HRVs
and they made the same horrible noise. So I'm basically told this is
normal on all HRVs. I wonder if Honda has a design flaw or whether
Huntington Honda is sitting on a bad batch?

I should have bought a Subaru or Toyota.
Agree with the clever use of space, but other than that everything else flunks.
So still no high speed AEB, nice job Honda. You will sell... not many.
That’s not wat the market says lol
Miobilio ,,,, BRV,,,,, next HRV
Gonna meet same consequences in India because of overpricing.
Looks exactly the same as the 2018 model.
Agreed. The newer models have more safety features tho like automatic braking unlike the 2019
I have a 2019, my friend has a 2018. Mines looks a lot sleeker than his. I think there was a facelift from 2018 to 2019
If only they could put Apple CarPlay into my 2018 HR-V. It absolutely shits me that Honda can't do this, even though I'm willing to pay.
Have you considered putting in an aftermarket unit? That's what I'd do.
Cheers
Matt
@@carsguide I’ll look into that. i plan to keep mine at least 2 more years so it’s definitely worth doing. I’ll scout around and see who in Melbourne does them 🙂
I went to a honda dealership in Narellan, NSW just last friday and they said they can replace my 2019 RS unit with the new 2021 android auto/apple carplay unit. Idk who said that to you. The service person saidto me he will also change the bottom panels for the usb ports and what not.
the 2012 civic has the same steering wheel, lol
It needs a 2.0
Honda should launch this in India instead of that crappy Wrv.
I love the accent. 🥰
Si la Honda hrv trajiese medidor de velocidad numerico que de aguja oh trajiese los dos incluidos compraria una sin pensarlo
We need a Better HRV with more motor power, and better security features to be competitive with the cars marker..... Hey please Honda is 2021....
i agree with u sir. i drive 2019 hrv, now is 2020, and i dont see any big differences from year to year..
facelift? well just a minor addition to the face,
we really need something new..
please zombie tell me about it's competitors, make sure they are in his price range.tell me who has bigger engine or something so substantially more that it would sway a buyer from buying Hrv to something else?talk is cheap but when you look around there's not much to buy in price range of 33 basic Hrv -40 grand(which is luxury version).this reviewer seems tired of living, yet owns Hrv,of course you might find it boring, you already own one so face-lift is boring.never talks about reliability of the car, says 125Kw engine is slow, lol,I had Peugeot 308 95kw went fast as bullet.people today only care about cosmetic impressions, about media interface,no one cares about what matter in the car:engine, consumption, drive, handling, reliability, transmission, space, practicality, comfort. All those things come before stupid 7 inch screens and if it's on touch or not, lol.
The "RS" on the Honda HR-V stands for 'Really Slow'. It should be "Honda HR-V MRTYT" (More Room Than You Think).
Honda its 2021, get rid of those analog gauges.
... Hey handsome : nice car/weather out there ....
I like everything about this car,,except the dashboard big linear ac grill in your face ....
i love race cars :)

Itu kalo di hongkong bukan HRV namanya tapi HONDA VEZEL
Good car review
Nice video. I just wished Honda was more impressing me. I find it a boring car brand. Toyota is my new favorite these days.
Toyota is crap, their Koba can''t come close to this.Civic is better than Corola,Crv is far better than Rav4 etc...
Seriously?
Toyota is not boring?
Saying that reveals a lot about you.
Nothing new with those rear seats. It is just a modified copy of the CRV.
Even my old 2003 Jazz/Fit had those seats...
They should have put The Android auto and Apple carplay live a couple of years ago. They are last to the game sadly. Now it's time for a new car. Electric! They could really be The best! I want it! New Electric hr-v NOW!

No interior boot opening and no boot opener on key fob .........primitive
Too many promos about subscribing.
I wouldn't buy a Honda since they are going the way of Holden.
In Australia they are, but not worldwide. I don't think they care about the Australian market anymore. Australia's Honda Accord never got the new engine and transmission, even after a facelift it didn't.
No Honda sensoring ? Then do not buy it !
WARNING demister dose not work..
Not #Some1 😵
Old design.

No point in buying this, front looks uglier than the 2015 model. Only good thing is the wheels and the LED day time running lights. It also doesn't look different from the 2018 face lift model. Just wait for 2022 model.
Old model
Current model, actually.
if u have so many complains about the cars why are u even reviewing it? some family people dont care about v1.8 etc whatso ever
@YUAN NADI (員納迪) ur right
Honda is honda..
todas las marcas de los carros están sobre valorados con garantías tan bajas como si los precios fueran tan bajos. Las garantías mínimas de 500,000 km o más porque lo han demostrado todos que son desechables Díganle sus verdades a los fabricantes
Interior could have been better!!
Boring design
It’s a crossover tho wats it suppose to look like a Lamborghini?
It's very disappointment. Since 2014, they didn’t change much. Same old design. Pathetic
So disappointed Honda, hrv.👎👎👎😫😂💀
i used to own MDX . n
Old and doggy and cost a lot
Back seats are terrible, no air vents, no cup holders, no plug sockets. Just terrible.
