Took delivery of mine last month and I love it. Everything you said in your review was spot on. Refined, quiet, economical has more than enough power for every day use and when did you last get a flat tyre anyway. Personally me in my last car 2 flats in 100K.
What is really insane is that it's four seats and that it's underpowered as a naturally aspirated 1.5l in the base model. There's plenty of room under the bonnet to give it a turbocharger but instead it's a slug that, mechanically, is the same as the 2023 and 2024 models.
Yes! Who cares that it’s only a four seater? Agree with what you said and people wanting to squeeze five people into a small car/suv should consider a larger car. This gen HR-V is surprisingly good.
I have just brought one, the most important aspect for me (I have medical issues with my legs) was getting in and out and being comfortable when Im driving. I would of preferred a Toyota but I tried a Rav 4 and Yaris Cross and I had difficulty getting in and out, with getting older it will only get harder. Any other cars that might been as suitable were out of my budget
Seating capacity was a deal breaker on the previous version, which is why I bought the CX-30. I'm glad the new HR-V doesn't give me buyers remorse. I love this car so much, but 4 seats is crazy.
@ziva0881 I can't imagine so. The cx-30 has 3 seats, but very little space in the back. I would not consider it if you were to frequently transport adults in the back. I would not be surprised if the HR-V has more space, but it doesn't have a centre safety belt, so the space is useless.
@@trentbosnic I completely disagree. Firstly, this wasn't Honda's decision. They were forced to not have a middle seat due to ADR. Secondly, children can use the middle seat very conformably, and adults can use it uncomfortably when you're in a pinch. Saying that you cannot use the middle seat anyway is pure unadulterated cope.
@ Each to their own I guess! If I needed a third child in the back I would rather get a regular sized SUV designed to transport them, particularly thinking about longer haul trips with luggage, no car this size is going to work for 3 kids. Personally, I would pay more to just have 2 bigger seats in the back and give more comfort for 2 kids… cars this size are clearly not intended for large families, nor should they be.
I got a Honda HRV Sport 3door back in late 1999 and had it for 5y and I still remember how good and fun it was … I wish I could find one now so my son could learn to drive on one
Awesome review - just a heads up that it has a really unique teabag mission with no gears or planetary gears. Essentially the drive is fully electric from pull away, all the way to top speed, which is why you get such good torque and such a smooth drive. The engine only melanins mechanically drives the wheels at highway cruising.
Interesting. I live in the USA and my 2025 HRV Sport looks different inside and out. The front grille looks better in your version and I also like the back seat storage area capacity. Need to see if mine has this feature.
Lol i tapped on RUclips and was confused why i saw a carsauce vid and had no notification, then the notification came thru and realised the video had been uploaded 1 second ago😂
Great review as usual. However no planetary gear set in these Honda Hybrids, just to out nerd you. Just one fixed gear with a clutch that engages at certain speeds 😊
@@CarSauceIn addition to refinement and fuel efficiency, how big is the gap between them in other aspects? For example: acceleration, sound insulation, chassis vibration filtering, suspension support, passability on bad roads, automatic driving, original factory warranty years and mileage? These are the aspects that we, as car owners, care about.
It's missing the little bits that piss people off i.e. everything in the storage cubbys of the door pockets, centre console and boot will rattle like hell without a felt lining...
Heyy! When you refer to the older HRV, are you referring to the RU3 or the 2021 Honda HRV(UK)? This model is called the RV5. Please let me know. I have a 2023 Honda HRV (RV5) and wanted to know if the features mentioned on this video (PCU etc) are available on mine, or only the face-lifted RV5?
the facelifted version got alot more sound deadning material in all 4 doors, acoustic windscreen & double laminated (i might me wrong and be sth else) from windows. The prefacelift one indeed was horrendous on highways.
No spare? 4 star ANCAP? Sombre and dark interior Hard dashtop plastics Modest power output S-l-o-w... No A/C vents in the rear No USB in the rear NO THIRD SEAT IN THE REAR! This gonna lose Honda significant sales. If your product doesn't meet market expectations it's going to fail.
You know this is a paid promotion when the guys says on practicality it gets 10/10, where the car is just 4 seater and no air vents as well for the rear passengers :/ come on guys
Quite a bit different than the American version...nearly all of which are improvements! Not sure why Honda gives you Australians so many little extras?
Does UK Honda’s have wet cambelt engines? A absolutely disastrous design. Honda owner of 2 x CrV’s EX Automatic Transmission 2011 and ultra reliable with chain camshaft drive method. Mechanic with 60 years experience.
Nahh Honda is still garbage. That HR-V is not worth the money. The cabin noise is still there. Floor the accelerator and the engine noise humming into the cabin. Lackluster powertrain. Boring interior (thought its been an upgrade but still loses out to many competitor)

Don't people get punctures anymore? Where are all the spare wheels?
Most punctures are nails and are slow which allows for tyre shops to fix, tyre blow outs are increasingly rare in car tyres nkwdays
Potholes
Standing at the side of the m6 most people normally
Yes I hate that about honda. Why the heck do they make models with ought spares!
@@robertbruce2182WRONG! DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! HAD TO GET AT LEAST 3 BRAND NEW TIRES THIS YEAR! POTHOLES!
This is definitely better than the north american variant
My Honda city hybrid in India has same power output which is a smaller car. It is very fuel efficient in sedan

NA engines are good you know,
Small displacement turbo engines , don't last as long, just ask Scotty Kilmer 😉

I wish we got this version of the HR-V in Canada
Seating capacity was a deal breaker on the previous version, which is why I bought the CX-30. I'm glad the new HR-V doesn't give me buyers remorse. I love this car so much, but 4 seats is crazy.
If I understand you correctly, the CX-30 has more space in the back?

Don't get a compact SUV if you want 3 seats in the back, they offer a miserable experience for the middle passenger. Honda has done it right.

I’m deeply saddened we don’t get this version in Canada 😭. Truly would’ve been my next car choice. Love Honda and that model looks sexy.

omoda 5 gt or HR-V?
No doubt an HR-V is more refined and better on fuel 😁
what exactly are you compariing against? price? performance? driving experience? etc??

There have been complaints regarding excessive road noise penetrating the interior spaces. Could you confirm if this is accurate?

B is for Braking (extra regen) on my Note Nismo S
Yes😄
honda hrv sport 2025 is 5 seat and heated seats, blind spot, and more in USA
The older version liked better externally
Really like the HR-V! Hope to own one in Singapore someday 🥲

4 star ANCAP?
Sombre and dark interior

The "B" stands for "Recuperation", but since "R" was already taken they just picked a letter at random.
