Why the negative comments? A different line up, a different sound, at least they were out there playing, making music and 'doing it'. The original line up quit in the 60's at the top of their fame, sometimes the best time to go, they left the world with so much joy.
maxwellfan55 uh
Judith leaving left me wanting more I felt that the book was not read to its conclusion.
However this girl should have carried on also she does have a lovely voice.
@@leeengelsman6356 Look at it like this. We got the original Seekers at their best, at the best time, when they were young and fresh, performing powerfully at their best.
Nothing lasts forever. In music it's often fleeting, maybe one or two great albums, a few great hits. The Seekers blessed us with one momentous, knockout hit after another during the 60's. Sometimes it just becomes a parody when kept lingering. The conclusion was already reached.
@@maxwellfan55 Agreed points taken.
The higher you get the harder you fall that was the sixties and it's long gone.
So sad that this line up seems to be scorned by so many. Great group, great songs.
No one can replace Judith. But Louisa is wonderful--the best of Judith's temporary stand-ins.
Artemis Gordon Louisa IS attractive, and she has a wonderful voice; but I would guess that when those people heard "The Seekers", they wanted to see Judith! BTW, where's Athol in this clip?
He had to go home - his dinner was ready!
Louisa is a class act alright, but sadly not Judith Durham. Durham is simply the world's best female singer.
Louis gave the Seekers their unique mid 70s sound
The voice of an angel.
I like this, her voice is wonderful!
Yes. Beautiful voice with an aire of virginal purity
I'd never heard of Louisa until I saw a documentary marking 50 years since they were voted Australians Of The Year. Her voice is heavenly!
A very heartwarming song. A ten-year secondary school get-together that I went to on 26/11/2016 brought me here.
THE SEEKERS💖👸🕺👬🌟🤩
Great!🎼🎵🎹🎸🎻🎤📀👍👏
From Hong Kong🙋♀️🌏💝🌺🥰
What a lovely song
I think she’s awesome.. her voice blends well.. what else could u ask for.. Judith his history at this point.
Yes, she is very very good, beautiful voice
Judith Is one point better.
it is a different sound with out Judith.... but it is still a wonderful sound .....
Louisa is a very good singer.
This sounds like an ABBA song to me for some reason.
I agree. And Louisa reminds me a lot of Agnetha, talented and beautiful.
Beautiful performance, and Louisa has a wonderful voice. But I still can't help missing Judith and Athol, although his standup bass is there in case he would show up, I guess.
She is awesome, they needed to get some writers and put some material together and they could have continued on.
Athol is conspicuously missing, Louisa is fabulous, stop comparing her to Judith
Lovely. Thanks so much for posting. Brian Nz
The magic of the seekers was the blend of Judith's voice along with the guys.
Always people comparing this lovely lady to Judith Durham. Why ? This group s the " Seekers " in name only.
I listen to this group and enjoy them just as much as when Judith was the lead singer. of a similar group of this name IE The seekers.. Just an aside. This groups rendition of " Every road leads back to you " was being played on a record player in the vicinity of my father, who was in a final coma. . To our surprise a short time later he awoke, left his bed, and asked for a beer, a lovely party followed, and he had a great last party. He passed three days later, but I always knew that that song dragged him back one last time. Thank you Seekers, Thank you louisa, you were such a lovely addition to the team. my love to you all.

Thank you Brian, for that moving story.
The comment at 4:45 taking a dig at Judith ("do you buy new dresses for her or do you have to take in the old ones that, you know, what's-her-name wore?") is uncalled for.
Can't edit my comment I guess. I meant to add, it seemed like Keith, Bruce and Louisa were embarrassed.
I SO agree!
remember the line up 1970s style. great then like the 1960s lineup
Everyone’s talking about Judith and Louises voices, but I just cannot help the fact that she looks identical to my mum, the only difference is that she can sing. My mind is just 🤯 like woah. Although they replaced Judith, Louise is very talented. Her vocal voice is actually very similar to Judith’s. If I didn’t know who it was. I would’ve assumed it was the same person. Love the video, thank you.
A great song and a great singer, she could have gone far I'm sure
It is not right to compare the girls...Louisa and Judith....both gifted but Judith's star rose higher. You may be able to replace a person, but it is very difficult to replace a voice...especially Judith Durham's. It would have been like trying to replace the incomparable Jussi Bjørling...no one like him except Caruso. And he was dead! Thanks for posting this Rich and all your hard work.
60s VS 70s (A Huge difference)
WHY DID THEY EVER LET HER DEPART - SHE'S THE STRONGEST SINGER.
They didn't. Judith decided she needed to go her own way for a while before reuniting 26 years later. Her singing voice has always been wonderful.
What a nice song
Judith Durham had a totally unique voice which could not be copied. Her voice was the sound of the " Seekers " when she left to pursue a solo career that should have been the end of that group in my opinion. They carried on with other great singers, making nice music, but of course not with this great singers talent. However they discovered this lovely singer Louisa Wisseling, who brought another sound to these talented people. At this point they should have re named themselves, and I seem to recall the name " the new seekers " but not sure. I have grown weary of all the people comparing her and others to Judith Durham, which is impossible, as her voice was as said, totally unique. Further down the comments section I have posted how my father came out of a coma for one last singing party after hearing the seekers on a 45rpm record singing " Every road leads back to you " reverse of " fly little sparrow." with louisa singing.. I will never work out how that combination did not stay together, the same magic singing but a different sound. I have just found another song of the seekers with Louisa singing a cover of the " Bee Gees " country lanes. absolutely wonderful for the whole group. This was 1976 yet never heard a thing. Obviously you cant play music forever, however I am now aged 77 and apart from other instruments. have played the guitar since I was 13 yrs old. If I had the money available it would be musical highlight of my life to invite this lady and her family to NZ so I could back her singing in a family party with my lovely singing daughters. WE can all dream I guess. Thank you Seekers, And thank you Louisa for your lovely singing.. Brian. NZ
I agree. They invited invidious comparisons because “Seekers” was a huge comererciaL label. Then also they needed new and different work, more suited to their new sound.
Louisa Wisseling has a nice voice - granted there is only one Judith but she chose to leave on her own volition.
Where's Athol?
Pretty good.
What happened? No worries I have read the comments. I think I will visit Mrs Durham and ask for a big hug when I visit Melbourne. Respect.
If Judith's appearances were on shows like this, it's small wonder sh had to be treated for "nervous exhaustion".
Maybe you know the answer to this Rich... Did the Seekers with Louisa, ever sing the songs they recorded with Judith, or did they just use a completely different set of songs in their concerts?
They used to sing the hits at their concerts, but their recordings were all new material 👍
Hi Rich, Whatever happened to Louisa Wisseling if you don't mind me asking? She was, well, incredible in her own right. She just seems to have dropped off the radar. Thanks for any info you have!
I agree with Artemis that Louisa is wonderful. Does anyone know what happened to her after The Seekers? I can't seem to find anything on Google or Wikipedia.
She went back to teaching and later married, still in the Melbourne area.
Wasn't she great- as are the Seekers. Glad Ms. Louisa is happily married in Melbourne! Uplifting!
She is my grandmother, she stopped with the seekers because she had a family and it was too much of a commitment, so she went back to teaching. she still sings beautifully today :)
Erm, where is Judith?
Judith is irreplaceble. I miss Judith so badly.
A bit unfair when they had such good songs originally. One hit and they would have taken off again.
Does anyone know where the lyrics to this song are in print? Thanks...
Desde Chile
Falta Athol y Judith
Where' Athol ??
Judith Durham was Athol Guys baby he brought Judith into the group he would never be part of the Seekers with out her.
Louisa as good as she was if not Judith. On my albums you can always tell when Judith isn't there.
Huh? I only see 2 Seekers.
all very nice , but the magic is gone
Louise did a brilliant job,a great replacement, shame about the tottal knockers, who were loosers
Great singer but not the Seekers without Judith
She's not a bad replacement for Judith, but her voice doesn't carry the others like Judith's did and there are some weak points. Maybe the guys wanted more vocal input: with Judith, her mic was surely set a little higher and the guy's lower voices were like a river that the wonderful beachball of Judith's voice floated on. I don't get the same feel with Louisa. I think the sudden long hair and the soprano replacement came across as a little gimmicky and is why they didn't do well in the 70's, even though folk-rock/country-rock songs were doing well on the charts via James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, the Eagles, etc.
The mc is a little too much
Judith Durham is number 1, but Louis Wisseling is a very good number 2.
Nope.....can't touch Judith.....hence why she is no where now.....
+B Barnett She has a nice voice and has a good stage presence but I have to agree that there's no replacement for Judith Durham, and where is Guy?
I know eh?.....one missing here....on holiday?..lol!
+B Barnett she was worried and she had anxiety that's why she quit.
Good, but not Judith
Her teeth creep me out.......Its also kinda weird without Judie
u da creep! a lot of gals would love to have a set like she has
She's a really good singer , no doubt about that whatsoever .... but not quite as good as Judith.
I kept staring at the bass. I suppose there was a message there... Louisa is lovely, but I do miss Athol and Judith in this clip. As for the host... well, not to my liking. Awkward, and the jabs were uncalled for.
Could they not find a brunette, me be a Abba sketch,Durham one of a kind.
The lady can sing but she's no Judith
What a unfunny comedian.
She sucks, shame on them.
Crazy, I'm sorry, I'm usually civil, but you are an ass.
Where’s Athol ?
