- Today I’m sowing 12 varieties of Foxgloves (Digitalis) so that I can plant them out in the autumn for loads of colour and drama in my early summer garden in 2025.
I will only ever recommend products that I use regularly and believe to be good value.

Great selection of foxgloves, they are the bees knees.
Thanks Nicholas 😁
Foxgloves are so cottage garden and romantic. Love the pink gin ones. Should look lovely in your garden💐
Thank you Carol 😊
I love watching the bees going in and out of my Foxgloves. I bought a plant last year called Chinese Foxglove (not related) and it has very pretty flowers.
Oh, wow! Chinese Foxglove looks so pretty - definitely one to add to my list, thank you so much for the suggestion 😊
I love your channel and I love foxgloves. I grew up on a farm where wild foxgloves grew in the hedges. Not realising they were poisonous I used to have fun picking the little flowers, blowing into them whilst holding the other end shut, then 'popping' them with my hand! I survived but wouldn't attempt it now!
Thank you so much Marilyn. I have so many memories of my Mum shouting at us "Don't touch the foxgloves! They could kill you!!!" That certainly got our attention 🤣
Your garden looks amazing! I too love fox gloves, I started a lot from seed this year . I love your selections can’t wait to see them grow.💐🇨🇦
Thanks so much! 😊
My Sutton's Apricot foxgloves are just going over. Really strong stems and a gorgeous apricot pink. Wish I had gotten more seed of that variety this Spring, but I did sow and plant out Apricot Beauty. I love that the bunnies leave them alone, too!
Hi Mary, yes, I think Sutton's Apricot really is my favourite - just the perfect colours for our garden. 😊
Hello Annette. I love your selection. I sowed one type this year called cafe creme, also known as ‘Woolly Foxglove’ and they are hardy biennials. Sadly only 6 germinated. I like that you scattered some as well. So much colour and shape to come in your garden. Thank you for the video. X
Hi Jimmy, I think I tried to grow Cafe Creme last year but was unsuccessful... Yes, I scattered saved seed all over the place - I wonder what colours I'll get?! 😁
Inspirational choices as always.😻
Thanks Jackie 😊
I grow Pam's Choice a lot, and love it, especially when the calyx splits, although they were significantly taller than 1.2m this year - very statuesque. I believe there is a specific variety called Pam's Split on the market if you like the split look. I sowed mine for next year on 6th June but they haven't germinated, probably because of the cold we've been experiencing. Watching your video has prompted me to sow the rest of my seeds and try again. As you say, it's still only the beginning of July. Yours will look gorgeous all over your garden.
Oooh. I've never seen the split ones before - they look kind of shaggy. Very interesting. 😊
Lovely can’t wait to see the foxgloves grow. ❤
Thanks Chrissy - I hope I get lots of germination! 😁
I planted the foxgloves Camelot series late last fall, they wintered over fine here( US zone 8b) and 95% flowered this next spring. ❤
Ooh, that's brilliant news. I'm in equivalent to zone 8b too, I think. I'm so excited to see them all grow. 😁
I am in zone 5, and mine came back after one Winter. Hoping as biennials, they will continue filling that bed
love foxgloves. thank you for sharing all those varieties. I am growing alba and apricot this year. I always get lots of self seeders in my garden- with a lovely tange of colour too, from dotted white to pinks to purple/pink. They alwys cheer the garden in late spring- love them. I thought I might buy some seeds of candy mountain. Have you ever grown those? Happy gardening 🙂 x
Hi Be, Yes, I think I've bought Candy Mountain as a plant in the past - such wonderful colours and I love the Apricot ones too. Foxgloves seem to fill a much needed spot in the garden don't they. 😁
@@cottoverdi Hi Annette, yes indeed! 🙂
I love foxgloves, they are all over in my garden, kind regards Joke.
Yes, I love them too Joke. They just add so much to a planting scheme, especially when they pop up unexpectedly 😁
Beautiful foxgloves.
I'm in Crete now, 28C at 8pm with a lovely breeze.
Thanks. Sounds like it's cooled down a bit then? It's much colder here over the last week. We just need some proper rain now!
Woohoo fox gloves every where! Love it 😊
Yes - I just sprinkled them all over the garden. The more, the merrier 🤣🤣
i also love foxgloves never grown from seed so you have inspired me so just ordered some hopefully we will have great success
Brilliant - they are super easy from seed - you will be amazed! 😁
I just paused your video, ran out in the summer rain and sprinkled my foxglove seeds all throughout my garden. I will save some to winter sow for next year. My foxgloves never repeat flower so I just let them go to seed. Some of the stalks I cut back to rebloom just dried up and died. I must be buying the wrong ones.
I hope you have lots of luck with your sprinkled seed Kate.😊
What are the deep blue flowers in the background? They look like they are surrounded by lilies.
Hi Lisa, I'm not sure which image you're referring to? The Suttons Apricot has Anchusa azurea Loddon Royalist in the background - they are the deepest blue flowers in my garden at the moment. 😁
Do you collect seeds from foxgloves that are over? Mine are looking quite finished, so I was thinking to try and spread the seeds from them around a bit.
Hi Libby, yes, I do. I collected from Sutton's Apricot last year and those are the seeds that I was scattering all over the garden. I can't wait to see what colours I get! 😁
