We acquired a CanAm Maverick Side-By-Side and have been double towing for the last 6 months. We love our SxS so much we want to carry it wherever we go - so we need a place to carry it while we travel. We've been shopping for a toy hauler and finally had the opportunity to tour the new DRV MX450 with a 13' garage.

Best toy hauler I've seen.
We really like the layout William. It's a compromise on living space, but once the garage is empty we can use that as additional living space....so overall we're pretty excited.
That is an awesome coach and it seems roomy for a couple with their toys .... very nice thanks for letting all of us see it

In case you didn't already know about pocket doors. I bought a 12 pound magnetic combo for my pocket doors off Amazon. No more strap[s and they stay closed no matter what kind of road your on or how you take corners.
Oh that sounds interesting....we'll have to check them out. We've been using a shower curtain rod to hold it in position while traveling so far. Have a great weekend guys!

Suite Travels I’m excited to see it (yes, I’ve decided you’re getting one🤣😂). I’m researching my HDT right now. There’s a lot that goes into it. A lot more than I thought but it so much fun!!! Next comes my DRV. Probably front living, mid kitchen, rear bedroom and bath & a half. Very exciting!!
Just enough room for couple and room too entertain in the garage and patio, room for the Razer and maybe two Lectric Bike's and fishing pole's, you can back it up right too the lake and fish right off the patio, and you don't have too pull a second trailer, what else do you need, LOL , I think you found it, I also liked the Grand Design 399TH with the side patio, that Keep your day dream had 2 season's ago
That's just about how we feel too Jim! The side patio is really nice, but we're not sure how much we'd use it. This coach has enough space for us, but we need to change a few things in the floor plan for us to full time in it. Time will tell. Thanks for hanging out with us. Enjoy your weekend!

Hey, guys! We have a 2019 JX390 and I think you would enjoy the kitchen/living room floor plan better. There is more cabinet space and a walk in pantry. You can reverse the door swing of the garage so it doesn't swing into the garage. This makes the garage more accessible and every inch of the garage is usable. Either way, I hope you find your dream home! Maybe we'll see you on the road someday. ❤
Thanks Kaye! We looked at the JX390 but the garage is too small for our needs. We need a minimum of 13' which really limits our floor plan choices. Alicia is working on some changes to this floor plan, so we'll see what she can do. We'd love to get together on the road and hang out with you. Thanks for coming along - enjoy your weekend!

I love it. The only thing I didn’t care for my own preference is the fridge on the other side of the counter top when your trying to cook. But that’s just me. I love the space and the opportunity for you to have grand children sleep in the rear there. So excited to see cause from what I have watched you can get those coach customized. Nice unit, but the living space is a deal breaker for me. Refrigerator on opposite side of island, theater seating looking over the island on one side and theater seating leaning back with footrest open blocks love seat. Too small of an area for such a big rv. The garage is awesome though. Thanks for the tour. 👍🏻
Thanks for the comment BigD.....those are some of the changes we'd make in this coach as well. We've made a request to modify to our needs for full time. Who knows....maybe they'll come out with a new floor plan and call it the Suite Travels edition 😂. Thanks for hanging out with us....have a great weekend.

If you decide on this unit you may want to consider a track system in the garage versus those tiedowns much more universal more tiedown points

It's nice, but doesn't compare to what you already have. Small kitchen, less storage overall, no dining table.
Get the JX450, put the Smart car in the garage, get a smaller side-by-side that will fit on the HDT.
You would be sacrificing a lot just to accommodate the side-by-side that you have.
Oh we know Frank....but it's all a trade off. We like our SxS so much we really don't want to go smaller, and if we ever have to change from the Smart car, we want to be able to carry the SxS in the toy hauler and modify the truck to carry a larger car. We've done so much research our heads are starting to hurt 😂. We've asked Alicia to make some changes to the floor plan, so we'll see what she has to say. Remember when measuring the garage that the 3 season doors need to be closed and locked during travel.

Well needless to say we've become toyhauler fans John 😂. Not sure what they tow with....we were just blessed that they allowed us to visit.

I would enjoy touring this unit. I hope they have one at the 2021 Tampa RV Super show. The
garage is really cool. Not that is matters to an HDT but did you happen to see the weight rating on this? Dry weight and cargo capacity?Weight rating of the ramp? Who makes the frame? Who makes the axles and what type of suspension? Brakes? Probably disc but who makes the electric/hydraulic unit? What color are you going to get? Sorry for all the questions but you know inquiring minds...
Hey Chip....I can't imagine them not taking one to Tampa. It's their latest floor plan, but maybe Tampa isn't the place for a toy hauler?? We've made some floor plan change requests and hopefully Alicia will be able to get them done. The specs from the website say it's 19,660 dry with a GVWR of 24k. We did check on the ramp and it was rated at 2500 lbs. We're fairly certain the frame is Lippert and we would order one with MorRyde IS. The brakes are disc but not sure who makes them. The stock colors are blue or brown tones....but we may have to try and get a custom paint 😉. Thanks again for hanging out with us! Have a blessed weekend.

Couple showed this model on the their channel and was taken a back at the living area in the toyhauler. Looked it up on Grand Design website to see the full floor plan. Like how the penisula for the kitchen was placed in front of the entrance. Not the same quality as DRV, however it is a nice floor plan. Just FYI, if your interested. Momentum 394M with a 12' 6" Garage.

Hi Susan. It's the only one that has been produced so far. The new floor plan was announced last winter and this was the first one that rolled off the production line. Since the COVID restrictions hit they haven't been able to produce another one. Alicia from Rolling Retreats was kind enough to find the owner's of this coach and ask if we could tour it - and the owners were kind enough to let us see it in person 😍. I’m really curious why you would give up living space that you obviously use everyday in order to accommodate a toy that you only use occasionally? Don’t get me wrong, I love your toy, but my son had a smaller side by side that was a lot of fun also and would fit in a smaller space. Is getting something smaller to ride and play out of the question? Just curious. Changing Lanes has an awesome layout on their rig too but they only haul a motorcycle.
We discussed this topic over and over again Marsha. Our SxS is rather unique in that it has a special suspension that allows us to ride VERY comfortably and also has some major upgrades to it that we really enjoy. Bottom line is that we can't duplicate what we want in a SxS with a smaller machine. As we've said all along, it's a trade-off. The benefit of going with a toy hauler is that we'll have more living space when we are settled since we'll turn the garage into another living area - along with an outside deck 😉. Trust us....we've been having this discussion since December! Thanks for the comment and hope you have a blessed weekend.
Suite Travels that makes sense, those side by sides can definitely beat you up on the rough trails. The garage areas are versatile and the patio area’s are wonderful! I had assumed you guys had thought it all through I was just concerned about the kitchen/living area. It can be hard to downsize especially after you have already downsized 😄 Hopefully you will be able to get the modifications that you desire and get this baby built for you guys! God Be With You ❤️
you buying this used?
The coach in this video was the ONLY MX450 that has been built and the owners were gracious enough to allow us to tour it so we could get a feel for the floor plan. They've had their coach since February and if we can agree on some floor plan changes we'd have DRV build one for us with our changes. Since this was the only MX450 we thought we'd share the floor plan with everyone. Hope you enjoyed it Lance....have a great weekend!
the living rm/kitchen seems very cramped you will be stepping over your guests.
We've got some floor plan changes that we're hoping DRV will approve to help with that Bryan....plus we'll have the garage as living space once we are parked which will really open up the coach.
Its a shame they don't have the floor plan of the JX450 with a 13" garage, That would be my pick. No disrespect to your choice, but that kitchen is terrible compared to the JX450.

Absolutely nothing! I have seen, in person, their current fifth wheel, and it is beautiful. They have taken amazing care of it! Whomever purchases it is going to be getting a true gem!
Hey Randy....we aren't getting a second rig 😯. We acquired a CanAm SxS last winter and have been double towing it across the country. We've decided we want to keep the SxS but don't want to double tow, so we're shopping for a toy hauler.
