Fansly seems to be more open towards vtubers than OF, I wouldn't doubt it if more vtubers started creating content for Fansly more and more.

She used to have a traditional stream before becoming a vtuber. I've seen a grand total of one screenshot of it, haven't been able to ever find any archives/clips of it though.
The most important thing here is Saru's approach towards work. This is work.
Like it might be a lot of fun for her, but its ultimately work.

You can try looking up her past, but she's done a pretty good job of keeping it on the down low. Most of the old stuff that still has her actual face is posts from others that she couldn't delete.

Literally a year later, Saruei was up for lewdtuber of the year on VTA 2023, despite not being a full lewdtuber, she still has official 18+ art.
I was interested in what the Fansly thing was but only stayed because I saw she was cuddling up with a Foxy plush and that truly warmed my heart. Foxy is the best.

Amen. I actually switched careers from a creative to a STEM profession because people expect to be able to pay you with "exposure". I can't pay rent with exposure, just die from it.
She is not at all wrong on the point that all work deserves salary, but I still decided to stop supporting Saruei for several reasons.
First, depending on the months the content promised on Patreon was not provided. Second, I'm not rich enough or dumb enough to subscribe multiple times to support one person's work.

Think of it more like, "it's easy to take a photo, but it's another thing to take a good photo."

It takes a lot of work because she's committing to the character, so all the "selfies" are of her persona, not her the person, so she's going to have to illustrate all of them. And considering her penchant for perfectionism, I imagine they're going to be very detailed illustrations, especially the NSFW ones.
Also, if she's doing NSFW art, it makes more sense to use Fansly over Patreon or Onlyfans since both those other platforms have been really shit to adult content creators in the past
It's all the work surrounding the selfies that takes time and effort too, keeping a community going can be a full time job.

Typically lazy French. I've meet a few people from france and these people where easily some of the laziest, disrespectful and rude people I've ever meet. Saruei was a red flag from the start.

First we had vtubers, then lewd (and overzealous fake personality ones) vtubers became the trend, then some sell outs started to do cheap 3D "nude" pics of their models, though at least the implication is they'll be drawn selfies with some effort behind it.
