      Somr comments and questions i have for you as someone using RUclips without paying for premium to get rid of ads... (I can see how the cost would be irritating but I don't think it's prohibitive.... I have another acct i don't pay for premium on bc I never started making the planned content due to unforeseen life circumstances. But i got to see how obscenely intrusive ads are on here in late 2021 UT may be even worse by now! I would simply not use the platform if premium did not exist. [E.g. i no longer watch videos in my fb feed bc there's like 3 ads for a very short video... and i found the frequency of real ads then also many more "hidden" ads on tiktok too annoying and often watch that content when the creators reupload elsewhere and to be fair, all of those other platforms +views are much more profitable than tiktok where the only money is in getting sponsorships despite plenty of ads on the app...] . But before i had it, the ad situation on here was not as EXTREME as it is now! How users can tolerate it is beyond me!
      SN: Had also planned to start a Fansly profile in 2021 before it gained a lot more popularity, wish i could've im syre nkw its been tsken over by more popular well known crestirs..but it was bc at least at that time it was a much better setup than OF just not well known yet. So I think it's fine of course he's had many Fansly sponsorships and i thought that ad was still appropriate, coming from someone who tries to avoid ads on all steaming services that ad wouldn't be as bothersome to have to see over and over.
      Another creator I watch did explain how they recieved money with the different types of views. Surprisingly, a Premium view counts higher in terms of what the creator recieves than a view from those watching all those ridicilous amount of ads, that's not even considering having to see the sponsored ads within a video, too! (Note that not skipping ads helps them more, too, so when it's a smaller creator I'd consider letting the entire ad play). But when an ad blocker extension (so, a free option) is used to not have to see ads, the creator receives NOTHING for that view.
      I also respect creators more when they add very short sometimes pretty creative sections into their videos where they will place their midroll ads. It shows viewers like yourself respect so that an ad is less intrusive in its placement e.g. won't cut off a sentence, won't cut off important moments - before I got my friend to pay for premium she'd always place her phone down for us to watch something rather than her tv to watch content she enjoyed [I never watch on my phone... I use my tv so her doing that plus the intrusive, repetitive, and plentiful ads per video was painful to me lol also, a phone is not easily viewed by two peoplr if thstd mot your o ky option fir viewjnv its juzg rude. ]
      So for you, how can you stand the ads every few video slots on the feeds, the presumably constant preroll ads, the many midroll ads that seem to be the same ad each time (also why creators make their videos at least 8min!), and I believe there are still banner ads over the content. Presumably if watching on the computer there will be ads to the right where the video suggestions are. Tell me if there are ads I've missed! Lol Do these ads limit how long you spend on the app? Do they somehow just not bother you? Maybe you don't feel your time is being wasted? Does the combination of real ads then in video sponsored ads bother you? Do you find the ads useful and ever actually click on them?
      I will make this general comment, too. My comments always get quite lengthy. :x I slso don't comment often given I'm not viewing on a phone or computer. So a lot has to build up for me to grab my phone. I'm not intending to bother you with the comment!!
      But if you're getting ads presumably as an adult, how do it affect your watching experience?

    • @XeniaGrae
      @XeniaGrae Год назад +5

      @@psgamer-il2pt per another creator, premium views surprisingly give them the most (I'd have guessed less), then regular ad viewers with full ads playing being more beneficial to the creator than ad skips, and finally NO money at all for views from people using ad blockers rather than paying for premium.

On the other hand, if someone like Ryan's toy review had a fansly sponsorship I would be more inclined to give a fuck. Similar to a show like family guy, they make crude jokes but they don't target kids so it's fine, despite the fact that kids will inevitably see it. It's also why Jake Paul promoting shady gambling sites back in the day was such a huge problem. It's who you target and what you target them with. If you don't aim for kids, and they still see it, I don't give a shit.

    I think the two main issues which should (and hopefully will be) addressed RE Fansly are:
    1) Their sign in with twitch option allows underage users (13+) to create accounts and access adult content - this should be resolved technically and is not on streamers to fix
    2) The 'see which of your favourite streamers already use Fansly' line of advertising reinforces the unhlepful perspective that all female streamers are current or future/potential adult content creators. I'm not sure what you can do about that necessarily, but having the ad run during QT's event after her understandable stance during the hot tub meta (I don't want to be in the same bucket as adult content creators and have chat sexualise me as I do normal streams) is really unfortunate.
    Personally, I don't have an issue with Fansly sponsoring cool events; they appear to be pretty good to their platform's creators and users, but they need a more robust age gate to be seen as a legitimate entity and streamers/RUclipsrs need to consider if the brand aligns with their values, as Lud outlines.

    As a European as well (not sure if that’s necessary related)- I don’t see a problem with fansly sponsorship, especially if they’re able to bring so much good to the streaming world.
    Content creators who choose tha path of earning money with nudity was never the issue, rather knowing the side affects this could have on certain viewers to take it too far, with streamers that don’t choose to get sexualised- to be sexualised.
    It seems that the shit this sponsorship gets is because of the selected aggro fans, and what they might want to do *outside* of the site. I believe sadly that the sexualisation will happen regardless, might as well support a website that allows selected streamers do it on their own terms and perhaps stop the need of sexualising the streamers that don’t want to be sexualised.

    Honestly, the point you make about “looking out for the kids” is SO correct. At this point in time the internet is over sanitised to please “family friendly” advertisers and thus hindering your content as a creator, restricting you about what you can, and cannot do, so THE KIDS could enjoy it. But consuming stuff on the internet in any capacity requires direct action from the participants. Sites like OnlyFans, Fansly (I suppose, as I am not directly familiar with it) or even AO3 that has a large archive of NSFW content will need you to sign up and directly interact with warnings of it’s inappropriate content for children. If someone decides to go along with, or blatantly disregard those warnings, it is their conscious decision, and their consent for viewing a page. So I just don’t think people should cry hey ho about stuff like this, as you said, the events where this sponsorships happen aren’t targeted or meant for children anyways, and if somebody decides to interact with the sponsor’s content… Well, it is purely up to them on that point, regardless of their age.
