    As a lifelong Angels fan, Ken was spot on. He said what we've been saying for years. This is a team without a vision. Zero direction and it doesn't matter who the manager or GM is as long as Moreno owns the team. I'm sick of treading water, hovering around .500. Enough already. Go all in or all out. Choose!!

      @@SuperReviews4you really sucks for you guys as fans man, and I mean that whole heartedly. He’d rather milk that Ohtani income for an extra two months than get 4 top prospects back for the biggest name in the sport. Teams would have paid up too, could have turned the entire playoff picture upside down with Ohtani going to a competitor.

      He has a full no trade clause, so he would want a trade first off. And it doesn’t sound like he’s keen on being traded.

    • @dorothygale1104
      @dorothygale1104 2 месяца назад +2

      @@FusRoDah-Dovakin A trade of a player with a no trade clause doesn’t necessarily start with the player requesting a trade. There are ways the team can induce the player to consent to a trade which start with making the player aware of tactics the team could do, like potentially sitting the player, etc. Regardless of whether such a trade starts with the player asking to be traded or the team proposing a trade, it usually starts privately by the two parties. If Trout wants to be traded, it is highly unlikely that he is going to make a public demand for a trade. Since such a trade requires both parties to act in good faith, it is not in the best interests of either party to take a public adversarial position and, therefore, any potential trade of Trout wouldn’t become public information until both parties agree on the possibility of a trade and the parameters of a trade both sides agree to, like which teams Trout would agree to be traded to, etc.

    • @FusRoDah-Dovakin
      @FusRoDah-Dovakin 2 месяца назад

      @@dorothygale1104 you’re delusional to think that Angels will sit Trout to force a trade lmao one of the games biggest stars and someone the owner has a good relationship with. You could prolly do that with an under performing, less popular player, but never with a superstar like Trout.

    • @dorothygale1104
      @dorothygale1104 2 месяца назад

      @@FusRoDah-Dovakin I said there are ways (plural) a team could induce a player to waive a no-trade clause and then said “like sitting”, which in the context of my comment means that is one example. I didn’t day say the Angels “will” or “would” sit Trout or that is the only way to get a player to waive a no-trade clause. The point isn’t whether or not the Angels would sit Trout to induce him to agree to be traded, but rather, there are various ways any team could induce a player with a no-trade clause to be traded, as it is not at all rare that such players get traded. A no-trade clause doesn’t mean a player can’t be traded; it means that the player is in a control position in the process as opposed to the team having control. If a team wants a player to agree to waive the no-trade clause, the player certainly can say “No”, but that usually leads to a contentious situation, including tactics that one would think unlikely.

The Mets are doing exactly that with Verlander and Scherzer’ contracts, although they won’t be paying/subsidizing under those teo contracts for nearly as ling as the amount of time Rendon’s contract has remaining to run.

    The MVP will either be Trout or Soto. This will be the year for the Angels to trade Trout to the Phillies and come away with a big three player haul in Andrew Painter, Mick Abel and Crawford. If Trout is at the top of the leader board I have no doubt Philly pulls the trigger. Reduces the payroll to the point they can release Rendon if they have to. Eat the last two years of his salary. Trade all the individual pieces away-- Taylor Ward, Drury, Regnifo, Estevez, Moore, Stephenson,... all will bring back good prospects. Then let the kids play and they have a solid nucleus with O'Hoppe at catcher, Neto at short and Moniak in center, Adell in right, Schanuel at first. Good young pitchers in Detmers, Silseth and Soriano. They have a lot of big arms in A-ball coming, but they are 2-3 years away. They have the eighth pick in the draft that will either net them a big arm like Brody Brecht-- or a third baseman like the power hitting Tommy White. They have a stud outfielder who is two seasons away from being their CF. Sell this year and prepare to be a competitive team in two seasons and every year moving forward.
