I think him going to St. Louis is all but a done deal. Just gotta work out the player details. Imo no other team in the league can offer Washington as good an offer as what the Cardinals are already offering. As a Cardinals fan, just the fact that we're even favorites to land him...I'm so nervous right now lol as far as pitching goes, i really wanna bite the bullet and see if Miami will take O'Neill and another player or two for Pablo Lopez. No chance the Reds trade Castillo to us

The Cards would be insane to give away the best guys in their farm system PLUS an O’Neil and a Carlson! They already have a fine outfield. They desperately need pitching or they won’t even make the playoffs. They need at least 2 good starters and a good reliever. It can be argued they need 3 good starters since the are losing Waino after this season. They may be losing Mikolas after next season. He’s had 3 years out of the previous 4 that he’s spent most of the seasons on the DL. Next year he will be 35. He may just choose to retire when his contract ends. Where will the Cards be for pitchers then? We will be in 4th or 5th place with no talent available to trade for pitchers. But we will have a guy hitting 235 in our outfield or as a DH for 2 years. VERY BAD MOVE!!

Soto to Dodgers makes too much sense. They can have both Soto and Trea for this playoff run and then not have to sign Trea to a mega deal and can wait for Ohtani free agency. So much flexibility for two top prospects. Here is the long list of Dodgers prearb/prospects: Lux, Gonsolin, May, Cartaya, Miller, Pepiot, Busch, Vargas, White... Dodgers can part with half of these and still be fine.

Soto is the best batter in history? He’s batting 235 the last time I checked. When Ted Williams was 23 he was batting 406. Is Soto a super slugger? No. His best year for HR’s to date is 34. The Cards had 3 guys hit that many last year and by the way, they were all gold glove winners. That’s something Soto has never done. None of them get 440 MM either.

It’s not all about BA…Soto leads mlb history thru his age…above Williams…above everybody…also 5th in OPS+…he’s having a “ down” year and the numbers still put him in the top amongst the greatest ever…it’s all subjective as to who is greater hitter ever..yeah I’d say pure hitter Ted Williams but it’s not insult saying Soto could be when all said n done
