I used to use an Epson ET-2550 ruclips.net/user/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 , an early model of the ink tank style. It worked well, but had one nuisance that drove me up the wall; if you didn't put it in high quality print mode you'd get a streak across the page. I'm happy to say I have yet to see this with this printer. The print quality has been fantastic so far, the set up was super easy. All in all I'm very happy with this printer.

Thanks for responding to my message. The icc profiles, in this case those from Epson, are to match the image on the screen as closely as possible to the papers used in printing.

Saw you loading paper from the top . Do you only use the trays below for photo paper or can they be used for regular printing paper. Also -- can I connect wirelessly with my Mac laptop?
You can load regular letter sized pepper in front and back. You can wirelessly connect with MacBook
Great video! Looking for a new printer for my merch (mostly stickers) and was very disappointed in the EcoTank 4850. So, i purchased this. How are the black levels? On the 4850, printing on glossy vinyl (basically similar to photo paper glossy) the blacks came out a super dark blue and it was totally off. I still have my Canon Pro 100 and it's great, but these days I use more ink to clean the print head than to actually print, because it dries out quickly. And, the ink is about $180 for a full set. Cheers :)
I don't print on vinyl, so I can't answer that question. It looks really black on paper though.
Do you know if this Printer has a CD tray and print on CD’s? And between this one and 8550, which one you recommend?
Yes. There is a CD tray, and it prints on CDs. This or 8550 depend on how big a paper you want to print.

I saw your print with regular copy paper and it looks amazing!! Do you know why mine is not as vibrant?
I tried printing on heat transfer paper and my red looks maroon and hot pink looks coral.

The pink image on my thumbnail is printed on Cannon photo paper. I don’t know anything about printing on heat transfer paper.

No, this printer can only print up to letter size paper. 8.5 in wide.

It is still in perfect condition. I don’t use it very frequent though. I only print like 6-8 pages of paper each week.

@@dandee28 I am pretty sure no printer will print the same colors as what you see on screen. It is usually a little darker in print.

Can I print on a photo 8 1/2" x 11" glossy magnet sheet for refrigerator magnets?
I don’t know. If it is made for printing maybe. There are setting for both glossy and matte in the printer. And I know thick cards can fit in the back of the printer when you open up the back.
I was looking for a "starter video" on setting this printer up, instructions aren't that good. Like, I saw you put paper at the rear! Then I saw your bottom try #2 with copy paper but in a sideways position? I am about to install the inks, but I was trying to familiarize myself with the instructions before diving in. So, does it take copy paper at the rear and front bottom cassette 2? Instructions don't talk about paper at rear. I put paper in cassette 2 but in the traditional way, the long way in, instead of in wide position. Care to elaborate? Thx.
You can put paper in the printer both ways.
For regular paper, I have been putting them in cassette 2 like you. That way the paper can stay flip and it looks cleaner that way.
You can put in thicker cards or longer size paper in the rear. For cards you will have to open the back of the printer following the instructions on the back.

@@ErickSu1 The only difficulty I had with this printer at first time trying it, was printing on Cd. I was following instructions, but they really weren't clear. It was mere accident I figured out. Was alot easier with my XP620.

Yes you can print on CD and DVD for this printer. I have not tried it out but there is a tray for it.

I think you can change the setting to cassette 1. Or simply remove the paper in cassette 2. Let me know if that works.

This can only print standard letter size paper and smaller.

I have checked specifications and unless I'm mistaken, this printer the et 8500 can also print up to 2 metres in length. This can only print to the width of an A4 whereas it's big brother, the 8550 can print the long side of an A4 (hence it's ability to print A3) by up to 2 metres long

Ya. You need the software. 6x4 images are very easy to do.

I don't own a pc to test it. However, it does show that it works with windows computers on the Epson website.
My Mac can be connected to the printer through usb wire.
My daughter got this one she says it superb for her photography.

Just make sure you select the right paper type. Make sure you use the right side of the paper. Wait for the image to try before you pick it up. I hope that helps.
How has it been working so far?
It is great. The print quality for regular paper is actually better than what I showed everyone in the video when you set it to the highest quality. I didn’t know what I was doing back then (It was an unboxing video).

Not very long, but also not very fast. Depends on the print quality setting.

You can print on A4 if you opens the back of the printer and load the paper from the back.

I kind of feel like it might be an overkill for me. I am not a photographer and I hardly print anything.
I don’t know the cost per page, but I am long long way away from using up the ink came with the printer. I am not even on the halfway mark yet, with any of the colors.
