That was the hilarious part of that,he just pulls a gun and shoots, they made it in purpose because no psycho killer did that ever before and looks funny.
Typically in horror movies the villain is going through all this effort to chase and kill characters who barely escape and are always just out of reach. For him to suddenly pull out a gun and just shoot them dead was really funny and subverted expectations.
As intimidating and terrifying Art is, he’s definitely one of my favourite slasher’s solely because his character isn’t afraid to be goofy and entertaining while also putting Pennywise to shame
I'm gonna be honest, when I watched it I died laughing when he pulled out the gun. I think it was because it was so unexpected, and subverted what I would expect from a slasher flick. It was like he broke some unwritten rule I wasn't consciously aware of until he did it lol
Remember watching this movie 4 years ago with my cousins. At this time I hadn’t really been exposed to really graphic horror movies. Just jump scares, the usual blood splattering on the windows, off screen screams with the hand holding out for help, the usual cliches. My brother said this movie was heavily criticised for its “fakeness” cuz apparently they were on a low budget when producing it and it showed. So the whole time I was watching it, we criticised and made fun of it for said fakeness, it was very enjoyable for me and my cousins. But now rewatching it’s through this video, I’m so surprised I wasn’t more scared then I was when I was younger, Art is terrifying with is white smile and bloody teeth. The whole movie is freaking me out more then it was when I was a young girl?? But I do love Art, he’s my favourite character 😁
My little sister (9) wanted to watch this movie last year on Samhain and I (15 at the time) didn't want to because I usually get really scared of movies like this anyway we ended up watching it and since I didn't get scared I wanted the lights off turns out that the one who is usually brave got scared lol and she wanted the lights on it was 12am and after the movie we stayed up until 1AM watching cartoons lol We can't wait for Terrifier 2 this year we plan to go watch it together
I don't know if it qualifies, but the splitting the person in half made me think of Bone Tomahawk with Matthew Fox (who I hated in Lost but was awesome in this). The end of that movie gets desperately brutal and the tribe was very original as antagonists for the setting...
What is it with people knocking killers out cold and then lock themselves up in a room while "you know" the killer is literally unconscious. Brilliant.
God, I remember watching this with my ex. Craziest movie we ever watched together. I still haven't seen another movie this gruesome. To think we both clicked on it thinking it was going to be your classic slasher film lmao
Oh man, I’m so glad I spoiled this movie for myself by watching this. Way too much for me to handle, Art looks so good too, I really enjoy creepy characters but maaaan, I caaaaan’t 🤮
Art slowly sawing that girl vertically in half has got to be the most brutal and gory murder scene from any horror movie I’ve ever seen. The prolonged shot shows it all, and the practical effects being so good just compounds the horror of that scene.
I loved this movie. I was never into the jumpscare/paranormal horror but I was always in love with the slasher and gore saw like films. So this movie just checked all my boxes
I’m a huge fan of horror films. Gore films mostly. Out of many of the horror films that I’ve seen, this is the one that scared me the most. What scared me is just how quiet the clown really is. Amazing film for sure though.
I absolutely loved this original horror movie which resembles the 80s horror movies a lot. But I don't think I'll ever ever watch that "sawing" scene again. I get nauseous just thinking about it. What an absolutely horrible way to go! Look very much forward to Terrifier 2 though and hope it can live up to the first one.
@@kath9088 It was both entertaining and horrible at the same time, especially that one torture scene of that girl. But one thing that made it less horrible was the bad and non-believable acting from her. Besides, she would have passed out and died halfway through anyway so it wasn't very realistic. All in all, I liked Terrifer 1 much better but I did enjoy the second one as well. Do hope for a third movie!
7:48 if you watch real life stabbings - it really takes a lot of stabs to kill someone. Even if you aim for the throat which will be hard to do with the victim resisting. I've seen a street cctv recording once - showing big guy who overpowered a girl and kept stabbing her 20-30 times and he still had hard time killing her because she was resisting too much. So a girl like in this movie - stabbing him once is the best she can do - she can't kill him, he will overpower her before she does.
Actually I think you will find that a knife hitting a vital vein in the human body is quite dangerous and not to mention if a major arteries is severed or hit than you literally got seconds and minutes of breathing until you die of blood loss. Any real medical professional will agree. Sure they can take a few stab wounds in non vital areas and live to survive the initial attack that doesn't mean that there cuts won't get infected causing major complications or death it also doesn't mean that they won't bleed to death. Sure adrenaline keeps them going during the duration of the assault it don't last forever tho. And like 80 percent of serious stabbings or knife fights are fatal or cause major damage both psychological and physical so please sir kindly tell me why your out here downplaying knife attacks making out that it can be easily survived. What if people follow that information in real life thinking stab and cut wounds aren't dangerous. Are you trying to kill people?
Art would've never been defeated in either of the movies if he killed fast. And he would be so fun to be around if he wasn't a deranged serial killer. I mean, look at him riding around on a tricycle, flipping his targets off, and later wearing flower sunglasses in terrifier 2.
I really enjoyed this movie, sure the acting is kind off weird sometimes unless its Art but its still a fun gory movie, loved the review aswell. Earned yourself a patron

I just can't wait for TERRIFIER 2... That's gonna be bad ass I believe also Damien ( the director ) says it will be 2 hours long & the hacksaw scene on the 1st one will have nothing on the one coming out the Gore will be insane HAVE A SPOOKY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE IN A FEW DAYS 🎃!!
I felt the same when I saw this movie, but seeing as how I had a hard time sleeping after watching it, I don't know how'd I'd personally feel if Art merch started going around everywhere. It'd creep me out a bit.
What I never understood about horror movie is slashed tires sure if they are slashed it will damage your ca rims but you can still DRIVE if however it’s one stab no slash you can drive decently fast without damaging the tire or rim and by decently fast I mean 20 mph 🤣🤣
Fun little piece of trivia. Art enjoys every kill with a sadistic joy, except one. The director wanted Art to use a myriad of weapons to kill, but as a last resort, and something you really dont see alot of in horror films, is the killer using a gun. In the scene where he uses the gun to take the protagonist down, he has a frown on his face, and seems vary indifferent to the act. Then, when things just seem to get worse, his gun is empty. He rolls his eyes, walks away, comes back, then just unloads bullets into her, finally killing her. Watch every kill, and how much fun he has, then watch his reactions in that one. He does not want to use a gun, but its a fail safe, and he clearly hates having to use it, taking all the fun out of the kill. I liked this little part that sort of gives the viewer a...Well, view, into Art as a person. He wants to savor his kills, its part of the "game" to him. Same with maiming his victims, he had times where he could kill others, yet chose to torture them, rather then kill them. I think the thing that really made this movie special in my opinion, was it took chances. The scene where Art stands like a statue, and legit confuses the protagonist, is actually brilliant in my opinion. Think about it, who would think a killer would just freeze in place and act like a statue? Then the sudden jerk to life can be a true jumpscare, even if you know he is real. Thats a unique jumpscare that i dont believe i have seen, and it just works. Or Art just riding his bike around, you honestly dont know if its meant to be funny, or creepy, when its in fact, both. Highly recommend this movie to anyone who hasent seen it, its a nice change from the normal horror movie. This movie has gained a cult following for a reason. Is it over the top? Yep, is it cliche? Sure, but it is a fresh flavor to the normal "jumpscare" happy horror movies you see 99% of the time. This one is not jam packed full of jumpscares, which is cool imo, its creepy without needing a shit ton of them, and sudden loud sounds and music to startle you. Art should be a household name with figures like Freddy and Chucky, i feel he is on there level.

Typically in horror movies the villain is going through all this effort to chase and kill characters who barely escape and are always just out of reach. For him to suddenly pull out a gun and just shoot them dead was really funny and subverted expectations.
@@osirisavra1301 art really did the “call an ambulance! Call an ambulance! But not for me!”
He even had the same body hunched over posture😂
As intimidating and terrifying Art is, he’s definitely one of my favourite slasher’s solely because his character isn’t afraid to be goofy and entertaining while also putting Pennywise to shame
I'm gonna be honest, when I watched it I died laughing when he pulled out the gun. I think it was because it was so unexpected, and subverted what I would expect from a slasher flick. It was like he broke some unwritten rule I wasn't consciously aware of until he did it lol
That's so true lol. Like why are slasher films forbidden from using guns? I noticed that. Haha.
Agreed😂
Your dry humour Inbetween is so satisfying 😄
I can't wait for TERRIFIER 2 will be awesome imo!!
My little sister (9) wanted to watch this movie last year on Samhain and I (15 at the time) didn't want to because I usually get really scared of movies like this anyway we ended up watching it and since I didn't get scared I wanted the lights off turns out that the one who is usually brave got scared lol and she wanted the lights on it was 12am and after the movie we stayed up until 1AM watching cartoons lol
We can't wait for Terrifier 2 this year we plan to go watch it together
congrats to this movie for being the first thing that made me understand why people are afraid of clowns!
This first movie was so damn good. Art had such a terrifying presence - no pun intended - without being supernatural and too over the top
The funniest part of the movie was when Art was just vibing on his trike. Literally laughed out loud when he just went off screen
When she stabbed Art once in the back, I was screaming at the tv.
oh yeah the brutality in this movie is really brutal forreal
I always thought that the opening shot took place after the main movie and that the survivor was our main character not that there was a cycle.

I don't know if it qualifies, but the splitting the person in half made me think of Bone Tomahawk with Matthew Fox (who I hated in Lost but was awesome in this). The end of that movie gets desperately brutal and the tribe was very original as antagonists for the setting...
Bone tomahawk is one of my favs, I love the western theme, the tone, and the balls to the wall ending.
Reminded me of the same thing. That shit was brutal.
Bone Tomahawk was a better movie.
Such an epic movie. That scene with the axe is truly horrifying.
I’m so glad you made this video, I would not have been able to stomach this movie
What is it with people knocking killers out cold and then lock themselves up in a room while "you know" the killer is literally unconscious. Brilliant.
Right couldve just bashed his head in with the hammer over and over

God, I remember watching this with my ex. Craziest movie we ever watched together. I still haven't seen another movie this gruesome. To think we both clicked on it thinking it was going to be your classic slasher film lmao
This is hand down. One of the creepiest. Gory and brutal movies made in a long ass time.
Art the clown is by far the most disturbing clown in a movie
One of those movies you’ll always remember the first time you saw it. I had fun watching it. So underrated. Art the clown is crazy
I’m not sure why, but this is the only horror movie I have seen that has actually made me feel sick and uneasy after watching it.
Same. I spit on your grave didn't have death scenes this bad.
art is literally the physical form of "actions speak louder than words"
The budget for this movie is so small I can’t believe how well they worked with it
Omg “revealing that the clown must’ve been kicked out for (blasting ass) in there” 😭 3:40
I was searching the comments for this. For some reason, it struck me so funny, I was wiping tears away. "Blasting ass" Too funny.
Oh man, I’m so glad I spoiled this movie for myself by watching this.
Way too much for me to handle, Art looks so good too, I really enjoy creepy characters but maaaan, I caaaaan’t 🤮
I’m convinced Art is just Marilyn Manson taking a day off

Art slowly sawing that girl vertically in half has got to be the most brutal and gory murder scene from any horror movie I’ve ever seen. The prolonged shot shows it all, and the practical effects being so good just compounds the horror of that scene.
“I guess she didn't dodge that Dodge.” 🤦😂🤦😂🤦😂
THAT KILLED ME TOO XD
My guy straight up just pulled out a gun

one of the more memorable slasher movies of the decade, sadly I don't see many producers who dare to make it extra gory and brutal as in this one

I’m a huge fan of horror films. Gore films mostly. Out of many of the horror films that I’ve seen, this is the one that scared me the most. What scared me is just how quiet the clown really is. Amazing film for sure though.
It is because mime is a lost art form also why the black and white make-up.
YES art the clown was played by a guy who was a professional mime i think!!! Props to him he really made this character shine
What did you end up thinking of Terrifier 2?
@@kath9088 It was both entertaining and horrible at the same time, especially that one torture scene of that girl.
But one thing that made it less horrible was the bad and non-believable acting from her. Besides, she would have passed out and died halfway through anyway so it wasn't very realistic.
All in all, I liked Terrifer 1 much better but I did enjoy the second one as well. Do hope for a third movie!
This movie was the first to shock me in a long time and I loved it
Hell fucking yeah! So close to 100k, been here since around 10k you deserve every success

Adrenaline and a will to live can make humans very resilient.
The interview at the start actually happened after the massacre. It is supposed to be a twist ending.
“While watching her friend get turned into two friends” was funnier than it had any right to be.😂
Man I remember this movie, holy shit
Damn, there's an awful lot of 'should have died, but didn't, given another chance to escape, and dies'. It's almost comical.
Clowns have never been something I find personally scary but Art is genuinely unnerving.
I love art cause when things go wrong he'll just straight up pull out the piece and start blasting
Art would've never been defeated in either of the movies if he killed fast. And he would be so fun to be around if he wasn't a deranged serial killer. I mean, look at him riding around on a tricycle, flipping his targets off, and later wearing flower sunglasses in terrifier 2.
I remember watching this on Netflix on a night I was bored. It was was one of those movies I wish I had never seen ._.
I really enjoyed this movie, sure the acting is kind off weird sometimes unless its Art but its still a fun gory movie, loved the review aswell. Earned yourself a patron

What’s the name of the short film?
Art reminds me of my Aunt. I have mo idea why or how but his mannerisms remind me of her
