    I left my zz plant at work during Covid. Eight MONTHS with no water or care and it was fine. A bit wrinkly but it plumped right back up after a few drinks. Now that is an easy plant.

    I recently subscribed to your channel and started watching your videos. I really enjoy your calm and relaxed approach to plants and plant care. I've been growing plants for over 6 decades. I have 2 huge ponytail palms that I bought as tiny plants in 1977 and in 1986. My staghorn fern was 20 years old and a BEAST! Just last week, I divided it into 28 individual plants and gifted them to neighbors and folks in my community. So many of my plants have grown too big to handle at my age and my greenhouse is getting too cramped for all of them. I also divided my giant white bird of paradise, 2 pots of sansavieria zeylanicas, and one pot of sansavieria sayuris and gave all of them to very appreciative neighbors. I love my plants but I forget that they GROW! 😊

      @@Mycityplants 1 of my sansevieria require intensive care while 2nd requires advice and 3rd requires thankfulness
      1st one is golden hahnii type cute small one in 12cm terracotta pot thriving for 3 months and following all advices and taking all precautions and avoiding all problem causes, suddenly it looked standing boosted with extra energy, soon turned to wilt on pot edges, and upon my hand touched to check discovered it is suddenly loose yes loose it just separated from all root hairs and became solely with small white ball holding 5 of 8 leaves while 3 leaves departed the ball and turned soft.
      2nd one is traditional snake plant type, one of stalks insist on having one leaf dry out from tip to bottom slowly till becoming a papyrus paper, then the second so on, and if i trim the dry tip it dries again , this is all in one stalk but other 3 stalks are fully ok
      3rd one is green tiger, thanks to it very healthy and happy

    One of the ones that you called a Philodendron is really a Scindapsus. Probably a Scindapsus argyraeus. But they require similar care. Also you can argument low light with grow lights.

    Thank you for your video. I'm trying to build up a LED garden with no natual light and yet cost effective. I'm from Kolkata, India and my target is to attract all middle class families who love plants but unable to do so due to lack of bright/ medium natural light, or space or time to care and money. Thus my project is to build a low cost LED garden where people can have a piece of green inside their home anywhere and cost effective. Your videos are really informative but would be more helpful if you speak more on bright, medium and low lights, rather the LUX requirements for every plant. That will be really helpful. I've seen plants doing great in 150 - 175 LUX and that can actually solve a lot of issues with the plant. Ultimately it relates to photosynthesis process. Looking forward for such videos. Regards.

      Hi Abhirup,
      Here is the information about the light requirements for indoor plants where you can see light measurements in LUX to get the right exposure for low light, medium light or bright light plants: bit.ly/3IseS6b

    • @Mycityplants
      @Mycityplants  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi! Thank you for watching!
      Yes, temperature is a very important factor.
      In cool temperature soil dries out slower.
      In warm temperature soil dries out faster.
      Temperature also affects humidity levels.
      Plants should not be placed near heat or cold air exposure.
      Green Cheers!

      @Mycityplants  2 года назад

      Hi! Thank you for watching 🌱
      Sand interferes with the soil drying process.
      I would not recommend to cover the soil with sand.
      If you wish to dress up the soil, use these PolyPebbles Polished Plastic Stones Planter Top Dressing www.silksareforever.com/vases-and-planters/planter-accessories/polypebbles-polished-plastic-stones-planter-top-dressing.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3NWNveKA-QIVBYzICh1JQAJtEAQYASABEgKUhPD_BwE

      For Snake plant - water/refill reservoir ONLY when the soil is bone dry all the way through.

      @Mycityplants  2 года назад

      Hi Shobha,
      Most of the time the overwatering is the reason why these plants decline.
      In my experience, Philodendrons like the soil to be dry (almost all the way through) before getting a drink.

      It all comes down to writing down all key points to remember what you want to speak about and in which order.
      Some information flows out naturally when I speak about things I do or talk about for many years, some parts (about a product specification, ingredients, etc.) I memorize.
