Nice video chief! Cheers up!
Appreciate it!
Hi! I loved your video! Today, I took my Sharp 60" LCD TV back cover off and examined the circuit board without touching it whatsoever, couldn't see anything obvious, then went to the internet, saw your video and now, I am wondering what that rectifier looks like so I at least can see it and examine it for a fault.
Thank you VERY much!
These rectifiers need to be replaced because they may check good but break down under a load. So find them and just replace. Hope this help

Great video and thumbs up. I have this SHARP and when I power it on, I see half the panel light up then go off. I have taken it apart and tested ALL the LED strips and they check out. I have stb voltage as well as 12 vts. I am puzzled with this problem. Might it be the PS causing this, or is the problem coming from the main board, and how would I separate the two boards when I need them connected to fire up the lights? Appreciate the assistance.
what is the model number? By the way, that troubleshooting move you spoke of is for a Samsung tv only. Sharp is a different beast.
Hello, good info ...
the diode is pronounced " shot key"
Thanks for the video and best wishes.
Thank you Frank. I hope you have subscribed, maybe you can help me out in the future about other things I am not sure of.
@@Patch1stripeTVParts ...I think you have a good grasp, but. I just subbed.
👌👍
How’s it going, I have a 60” LCD sharp tv I bought in 2012 and it finally began giving me problems. One day the tv just started turning off by itself. Every time I turn it on after a second or two the tv turns off again. I’ve disconnected the tv power cord and re connected it and the same problem continues.
Your problem is with the power supply board. You can replace the board or you can find the diodes that I speak about on this video and replace them and reflow any suspect cracked solder connection.
I just started having same problem....
My Sharp TV would turn off after about 5 hours but would turn right back on! Now it turns on then off then on then off then on over and over! I unplugged it and plugged it back in but it keeps turning on and off ! What can I do?! (Besides throw it across the room)
reflow the solder connections on the power supply board or replace the power supply board with a "new" one.
I replace the main board to power supply the board with the lights on it replaced it too the red light still blinking I have a 58 in sharp Roku TV you think I need to change my picture tube?
No picture tube. Your tv is a Hisense tv inside. They purchased Sharp about 7 years ago. Have not done repairs on these.
Thanks for the video. I have a sharp TV model LC-58Q620U when plug the power light is red when I turn on the switch the light turns off for few seconds and comes back on but the TV does not come on. Would the power supply board be faulty?
I don't think so.
I have a sharp LB50 7 red flashes then blue, no backlight. i disasembled, found 3 dead leds, repaired then reassembled. backlight turned on for 5 seconds. now wont turn on again. about to disasemble again. ideas?
what is the model number?
I have a Sharp Aquos 80" that I bought not working. It would turn on for a bit then shot off shortly after. Sometimes you could get it to turn on long enough to get into the menu. I started by replacing the power supply but still had the problem, I then replaced the LCD controller, still had the problem, replaced the main I/O board and still have the problem. Tried replacing the power supply again with no luck. Any thoughts on it?

I enjoy your videos, thank you for sharing your perspective.
I have the same problem with a Sharp LC-80LE632U PS Board is a RUNTKA903 WJNI. I am unable to find the problem Rectifier you are referring to. Would you be able to help me with this? The TV works fine when it is on , but the random shutting down is getting annoying.
I think I pointed it out on the power supply.
@@Patch1stripeTVParts The board in the video is different than the board I am working on.
Those black components with the white ring is a diode. Then look closely for the part numbers written on them. They may check good but they are failing
I have a sharp model lc 65q7300u. The picture flashes ON and OFF. On for 1 seconds off for 10 seconds. It acts like bad LED strips , but All the LED's seem to be good. The strips all light and seem to suck 13.1ish volts per strip. Any tips would be great. BTW Love the videos
Reseat all the cables in your tv to see if that helps. If not sound like bad leds
I have a 65" aquos. The tv would turn off while watching at random times. A couple weeks later tv stopped coming back on and a blind light sequence began 3 blinks. Did the lights blink on yours after the tv didn't come back on?
Aquos LED
Sound as if you have backlight issues. Check into it. Hope this help
So how did you find that recorder was shot
Hello, it's a diode and I check it with a multimeter, and it checks out good the prognosis is that the diodes and breaking down under a load. They are cheap enough to just replace them. Problem solved. Hope this helps.
@@Patch1stripeTVParts thanks, sorry I meant rectifier, you tube changed it to recorder. Appreciate your response!
Got a sharp LC-43LBU591U roku looks like hisense parts will turn on work for about 3 minutes then go to blue screen with sound if I unplug plug back in works for about 3 does the same think it's the tcon board?
Main board is my guess.
hello. Greetings from Panama City, where to get an electrical diagram. TV sharp 60LC810un...thanks...
Thank you. you may want to Google the model number for a pdf
I had been having problems with my Sharp Aquos model LC-C52700UN. At first it was random power shut off that would last for a few weeks. Slowly it got worse and now it is difficult to power on and when it does it only stays on for a few minutes and powers off. All LED indicators go off.
I accidently hit enter and sent the reply. Do you happen to know if this component is on this particular model? It's a little confusing, in your video you describe it as a rectifier but then later you call it a schottky diode. A rectifier is usually a 4 pin device with 4 diodes to convert ac to dc. Is it a 4 pin device or just a 2 pin diode with anode/cathode? Thanks for any help, I'd like to try and repair this set. Still a beautiful picture for how old it is.
you got this!
Hi man i Have sharp lc-40lx810e Tv just running 20min 30 or 1hour after that just turn off display restart like 4-5 times and run normal for another 20min or hour sorry for bad english iam from slovakia🙄😀
I think this tv is actually a Hisense tv. I would see if i could find some RUclips videos for Hisense tvs. Hope this helps.
I have a sharp aquos LC-80LE844U
It turns off then comes back on after a second When it comes back the audio changes to LPCM I have reset it and it didn’t help. Any ideas as to what it can be
let me think about that one. I will get back with you shortly.
Hi men, nice videos. I have the same series powersupply board in a SHARP LC-60C847U, the problem is similar, the tv turns normally, then started to tour on sometimes and worked normal, but since last time never doit again. Only blink the Sharp white arrow light , slow and fast. Maybe will be the same issue? Tnks
Is that tv a led or lcd?
@@Patch1stripeTVParts in the owners manual says “aquos led smart tv, edgelit led backlight” . Tnks 🤜🏻
This was a great video and very informative. Thank you.
I do have a question on that rectifier replacement component if I may ask. My model Sharp is LC-60P607OU and it also says HISNESE Electronic Co on the serial number plate. The TV randomly shuts down and is very difficult to resume normal operation. The TV seems to shut down when displaying very bright screens or images. Other than that, there's no pattern to the shut downs. My question is whether replacing that rectifier would resolve this issue? Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks again for posting these great videos.
Hello, if I were you I would look for videos about repairing Hisense TVs not Sharp. Best guest - main board. I had one in my shop and it turned out to be a main board issue. I replaced it.
⁷
My Sharp would turn off, after 10 min, sometimes 1 hour. I could always turn back on again. If TV turns on long enough, it May just need Factory Reset, under Menu.. Settings.
What is the model number of your TV?
Hi, thanks for the video. My problem is similar, shutting on and off for short periods of time.
All diodes in my device show 600-700 ohm's on the diodes. Where do I look further, I have little experience with TV repairs.
I have found that all diodes provide a OL and ~700 Oh in either direction. I have found one that give ~700 ohm in both directions. Am I correct that this is a bad one?
Could you provide the type of diode that you have to replace a bad one with?
Yes I can the part number is printed on the diode. Hit me back.
diodes are usually measured with digital meter on diode scale. a good diode will conduct one direction then you swap your meter leads on the diode and you should not get any readings at all.
@@Patch1stripeTVParts...that is absolutely correct....
Although, some shottky diodes do measure substantially different than a normal diode.
I need some help

What is the model number of your tv?
@@Patch1stripeTVParts my is a Sharp 60 inch LC60LE600U . I hope thats the number you need .
Hello sir i have same problem about that diode supply to backlight i replace other kind but only power up for a moment and blinks the indicator light again..can please help me..
Reflow the solder connections on the power supply board. Reflow the transformer connections and any other components connected to aluminum heat sinks. Also really look for discolored areas at the bottom of that power board for other solder connections that may need to be reflowed. Hope this helps. Look for and replace that schottky diode if the above does not resolve your issue.
@@Patch1stripeTVParts ok thanks sir.
When your tv comes on does it has audio and video?
Yes
My lc-80le844u turns on for a few seconds like normal, then turns off.
Any clue what's causing it?
maybe cracked circuits on the power supply board or replacing the rectifiers I talked about in the video. If this is advanced for you, replaced the power supply board.
I replaced power supply and main board and my tv still goes off and on. Like a boot loop.
what is the model number of your tv. What is the original problem you had before replacing the main and power supply?
@@Patch1stripeTVParts tv is a Sharp LC-65Q7300U. Problem I had before replacing main board & power supply is that the tv powers off and on by itself repeatedly. When I plug it up. I press power button. Tv comes on and goes right back off. Then comes back on by itself & goes right back off. Nonstop.
Mine does this and I just replaced power board and nothing changed.. did you ever find your issue?
Test the inventory transformers
how about how to test a shotkey rectifier
Testing can be tricky. You will need a voltage ohm meter to test them. But you can locate them on the power supply board and just replace them. Sometimes they may check good and cause the random on/off symptom.
@@Patch1stripeTVParts i have that meter and i found one to have failed looking forward to replacing it thank you the numbers on it are 2cz20100 when changing it can i replace it with matching the 4 last digits? (20100) and ignore the first 3? thank you
My TV is going off and on. It's over 10 years old. I'll just buy a new one bc trying to replace the rectifier sounds a little too complex for me. Judging from the comments below. It's not worth my time to figure out the exact problem bc I have enough money to buy a new one. They're pretty cheap now. I paid $1000 for this when I bought it now they sell bigger ones for less.
The parts cost about $1 each. They like any diode. The number on the component will let you know the type of diode
Thank you. @@Patch1stripeTVParts
Btw Sharp now is Hisense TV brand inside which is a low grade TV. That’s why they are so cheap. The information ( marketing) that is gathered from your WiFi that is sold is worth more than the TV to the brand that sold you their equipment.
Amazing. @@Patch1stripeTVParts What brand would you recommend that's a higher quality?

If you have a fire stick take the batteries out of the remote first, trust me
Fill me in on this conversation. More information please.
Just watched several videos including yours which was great by the way!because my tv is doing the same thing, the last video was about someone’s tv that had a firstick plugged in and she mentioned that the fire stick remote was turning the tv on and off like mine was she took the batteries out and put back in and the problem disappeared as did mine. Thanks for the video! Always helps
Worked for me. Thanks

I think it’s a good idea that You should not wear jewelry when you work on electrical equipment.
