Love this reel! I bought it after yrs of the 14 I use for salmon to this day. Using this reel tmrw for lingcod w braided 50 lb & a 50 lb fluoro topshot on a Phenix 25-60 rated rod - perfect for up to big lings in water under 300 ft. Took the plunge on ocea jigger F custom 1500, 2000 & 3000 hg for spj & some nice evergreen rods & a new JAM rod force 5 by SFC. Totally addicted! Love the toriums they take a beating & continue to wk perfectly.
@@kwanifishing1637 I recently upgraded my 2000 to an F custom & added a 1500 f custom. They are really nice so I added a 3000 f custom too. All got varivas 10 x 10 line. Cant wait to use them.
I keep Cal's drag grease or waterproof marine grease on hand. If I remove something like a handle, I put a thin coat of grease on the hidden surfaces and threaded parts. It helps keep salt out. Great video!
Have a look at the Torium 2000HG. It's like the Torium 16 but with a longer handle...auto engage...and locking spool instead of clicker. Put on a Gomexus handle and you have an excellent SPJ reel.
bet you it’s overgreased. when you get a smoking hundred yard run from a tuna with overgreased drags you actually lose a significant percentage of your drag power. wipe off the old grease and reapply a super thin coat of cals drag grease
No it’s not. The newer model(2000HG) is only 13k here in the PH. You could get the older models for 10-12k. Your shop is overcharging you bro. Check out other shops like fishing villa or goodcatch fishing
@@bido8176 you can set a star drag with a scale but it's pointless once you turn the star during the fight it will change the drag pressure and with a lever drag it's pre set at strike and full every time

Shimano makes some awesome reels! I’m thinking of trying the ocea jigger 4000 for deep jigging. Thanks the comment!

Keep making videos, stay consistent and you will gain subs in no time.
Thanks for your support and advice!
Great one....Thanks for sharing
Thanks I appreciate your comment!
How you doing, for your tools i would suggest getting magnetic tips for your screw drivers.
Thank you!
i want to ask regarding the paint job of your torium? some says its flaking is that true?
Nice video
Thank you!
At depths of between 300’ and 600’ what would be the weights of your jigs?
I would probably go with a 250g-450g jigs
Great Video
Thank you! Appreciate your support!
Mabey I got a dud but I hate my torium 30hg I hooked a bluefin last month I had to keep adjusting my drag because it would keep loosening.
Sounds like your reel needs some service. I’ve never had my drag fail on my toriums.
Weird the deck hand said that's common with toriums
I’ve always fished Shimano products with no problems. Everyone has their own opinion based on experience. Thanks for your comment.

Bagi 1 bang
I’m sorry can translate please to English.
Star drags are for casting plugs lever drags are for jigging just learn how to set your drags with a scale
Definitely, just easier fishing in everyway also since I fish deep its nice to have 2 gear which star drags doesnt have
Yes two speed reels are awesome!
Shimano Ocea Jigger is one of the best jigging reels on the market and its star drag. Setting drag on a scale can apply to star or lever drag.
