i've heard this happens first time you start up a jet turbine because they're filled with some kind of oil in the factory to prevent the engine from degrading until it's installed in a plane.
Dissatisfied Gamer you would have heard %100 correct. It’s a preservation oil or inhibitor that prevents the engine from being damaged by moisture during transportation and storage. ..
It’s called 10/10 oil. It preserves a new engine/rebuild until its started. When started it burns off the oil, when fuel is introduced to the combustion chamber.
@@Groveish it is off hand referred to as clean diesel any diesel vehicle will happily run off it and it will run some what better. its bean over a year since i last looked in to the prices but i remember that jet fuel was cheaper then diesel at one point but you cant just rock up to an airport and ask them to full up you car.

Well that's strange, wasn't aircraft engines supposed to be running on compressed air? That's what I've heard from a very true source around on RUclips.
Ted Smith yes. Wind changes and we couldn’t be stuffed re moving it. And yes. You’d be correct. Only need to do idle run for new engine test these days.
Not off hand. But it is very tolerant. The FADEC is very smart in this engine and will protect during the start in a massive tailwind. I’ve had 40 + knots and it wasn’t a problem.
99 percent of folks don't know, or care to know. This is a first start on an engine. Have any idea how little preservative oil it takes to make that volume of smoke? Very little.
NICOCRAFT yes. It’s the first start of a new engine fitted. It’s blowing out and burning all the inhibitors that protect the engine. It runs clean once it’s burnt away and doesn’t do it again.
@@dragoner3211 because it's true. New engines out the factory or after extensive maintenance have a film of oil inside. When the engine is switched on for the first time, the oil is burnt hence the smoke.

Correct. The first startup just cycles all of the preservation fluid out. Completely normal.
It`s the latest model of engine, runs on coal. Very efficient.
Jajajajajajajajajaja
LOL
Lol
How do you know?
@david, lucky guess...
737-8 Tdi
Littel turbo diesel lol
Turbo diesel injection kkkkk commom rail
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
When did Wolkswagen started to make aviation engines?
TDI means, turbo diesel( Turbocharged Diesel Injection)....
These jokes are getting old.

It's the latest Boeing Diesel engine from an old Volvo 740 D24
So Boeing makes engines...hmmm

nice video and sound of the Engine
The plane seems to be higher than snoop dogg
Shuhao Lu LoL it's his plane
Lmao
Everyone in the back's reaction: 'fuck the plane is on fire!'
LOL you are right
Testing in a run-up area, no passengers. The preservation oil used in shipping is burned off the first time the engine is run.
Ahhhhh.....Nothing like breaking in a new engine...
You want to properly bed it in before doing any sick launches.
Engine by VOLKSWAGEN
Hahaha

Hans Hartfiel r/woosh
and America has some of the best engineers! And very many stupid people...
Starman in the Tesla Roadster floating trough space is that why the planes made by Boeing keep falling out of the sky?
Hans Hartfiel Those weren’t the engines fault?
Cool video 👍👍. Subscribed

That's pretty stupid. Congrats
That is what my Victa 2 stroke lawn mower does when i turn it on the side to work on it and it smokes like that for a bit on start up.
good job, test plane
Just like my car when i start it.
Just a 'first start' burning off all that protective oil, I presume?
jagrattle yes. Very normal and often spectacular.
Man, look closely at that airplane. It's not new by any stretch of the imagination.
They can fit a new engine to an aircraft just like you'd fit one to your car
LOL. That engine doesn't look or sound like a new engine either.
yes but you can swap an engine... which is probably the case here..
It's the new, ultra green jet engine. It runs on fresh hemp leaves.
Its like the rickshaws that we have here in Pakistan 😉
Good sign that the engine still has oil.
I think it's a part of repairing...
Cause I can see the engine couling is opened on the other side of the engine.
Yes, this is a test run in a maintenance area.
Why was it not positioned into wind for the run?
Nice
it passed the emission test

How long will it take people to learn that Kerosin is Diesel ?

start your engines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Remind me Kamov Ka-26 cold start :D
Starting with the wind up the tailpipe? I assume it was a strictly idle run for leak checks. No blast fence.
Ted Smith yes. Wind changes and we couldn’t be stuffed re moving it. And yes. You’d be correct. Only need to do idle run for new engine test these days.
Oh no! A small breeze up the tail pipe... it will hot start for sure! /sarcasm. Do you know Boeings limitation for winds on start-up?

He's running this plane on red diesel😉

Who put unleaded in it?
Pete Curran LoL it's more cheap
Normal jet engine startup here.
Anyway better than TDI engines
Did they fill it up with Fosters?

the factory cover the engine components in preservation oil so they don't get damaged or oxidised during shipping that oil burns off on first start up

not an incomplete combustion its preservation fuel on a new engine being burned off
МСК поменять нужно.
Looks too short to be a 737 especially with two E-exits being on 800 series or newer. Looks more like an A320 which also came with CFM56 engines.
You can see above the wing where it says Boeing 737-800.
even if you don't see the word, the significant difference of A320 and 737 is the base of tailfin.
GoPro Beginner very true!
Look at the vertical stabiliser, it's clearly a 737
definitely not an a320
Wet start
Burning out inhibitor.
