The point about that lawyer being Mormon is 100 percent true. My family is incredibly Mormon, although my close family don't practice at all, and it's basically three families that all married into the other at the same level, like my Dad's sister is married to my Mom's Sister's Husband's Brother, its hilarious, and my most Mormon aunt has one son who is a Geologist and entirely studies fossils and rocks in Utah, and the other is a translator who translates religious documents into Russian and slavic languages. To this day, about once a year missionaries will come to my parent's house on bike and ask my dad the specific street in salt lake he grew up on, and they all know it and have friends living there. Sheriffs are crooked as shit, but hell, at least they're elected. My sheriff seems to be "alright", I mean, I live in rural Louisiana (and not the black part), so he's probably just as crazy of any of these guys they're talking about. But in my experience the state troopers are the real abusive unchecked shitheads.
