Bowling Green head coach gets ejected...

- During the college football game between Buffalo and Bowling Green, Bowling Green head coach Scott Loeffler was ejected from the game in the third quarter. He got in a ref's face and was complaining about a call on the previous drive. This resulted in him being called for his second unsportsmanlike conduct penalty of the game, leading to an automatic ejection. The crazy part about this is that he is Bowling Green's play caller, so losing him was costly. But even crazier, Bowling Green still managed to pick up one of their biggest victories in years, defeating Buffalo 56-44 in a high scoring affair.

Yeah I wanna see duke winning a football game😔
They scored 28 points before this happened and 28 points afterwards. It must not have hurt too badly.
Lol I wonder what the coach was so angry about then
Even crazier, they scored 28 points in the 4th quarter.
@@Joecool20147 Ah, the downside to watching highlight clips. If the channel or the announcers don’t set up what happened beforehand, there can be some interesting comments as people try to understand the call.
I found it amusing that he took the play sheet with him when he left the field. 'If I can't call the plays, no one will!"
@@JohnH0130 i'm guessing he was watching the game from the locker room and on the phone to the coaches box the entire second half
And all 20 fans in attendance were shocked.
😂😂😂
Hey the bank had to be there!
I feel shocked right now Cotton.
With 23k viewers as well.
There were 21.
He’s the play caller… and wait for it, they had their biggest scoring surge of the season AFTER he was ejected!! 😂
and also had 28pts before that, so, whats your point?
If they scored 28 with and 28 without, how is 28 a bigger than 28?
Oh wait
@@xPredatorization, "New" math?
@@unfab they said biggest scoring SURGE. They scored the last 28 in Q4. Nothing about scoring more points without him than with him.

Would have been nice to see what the calls were that he disagreed with.
Gonna need jomboy on this one

I love that Guns N Roses starts playing right after the call 😂
Fun fact:
Bowling Green OH is home to BGU
Bowling Green KY is home to Western KY Univ. Sadly both aren’t in the MAC but it’s rumored
WKU is in Conference USA
Western Kentucky is in C-USA, but they might possibly join the MAC.
Ohio University is in Athens and so is the University of Georgia
And Athens is the capital of Greece
Bowling Green Ohio is home to BGSU
The Bowling Green coach was Boiling Red with anger
He at least violated one of the three "P's" that will get you ejected. Profanity, Personal or Prolonged. Maybe all three.
Probably called them a cock sucker.
“I said it was a cocksucker’s call!”
@@bjchit glad someone got the reference
Since when have coaches been ejected for yelling at refs... they gotten soft for sure.
@@OminousCamaro when in yelling you violate the mentioned 3 P’s
Didn't look like much by that coach. How did Will Muschamp never get ejected ?
Great point! I guess the ref wanted to create a safe space. As Clint Eastood called it, the pussyfication of America.
Or Dabo?

@@TDCLOL Do you have any idea about anything? It's culture not politics.
I came here thinking he got called for targeting
Imagine this happening to Nick Saban, at a home game! LOL
Never. Nick wouldn't be able to yell at his players for getting penalties anymore if this ever happened. Discipline has to flow from the top.
SIU7000
Cool! That would be perfect. Especially if it happened during the Ironbowl and it's BAMA's last possession on Auburn's 49 with less than a minute left...down by a TD
That would NEVER happen, lol
Thank you for posting this. I live near BG, and this is still the first time I have seen what happened.

This was pretty weak to deserve an ejection. I kept waiting for him to make contact with the official or something like that. This level of arguing happens literally every game.
Yeah, I've seen way worse not get elected many times.
Because we've seen worse, this behavior is okay?
@@dredey1971 The question is, is it wrong for a coach to argue a call? Where do you draw the line? Does the coach get ejected just because the ref doesn't like him?
@@rickbarnes7745 that's YOUR question. It's not wrong to "argue" a call, but the line is where it becomes disruptive and/or disrespectful.
We are men, it's weak if he ejects him because he doesn't like him.
But as men, where is your line....of disrespect.... from another man? That's my question.
@@dredey1971 I was just saying there are standards and precedents. If coaches are always given leashes of a certain length, then one time they're not, it's jarring. You get unequal punishments for equal crimes. That's all my comment was about.
Run out to the center of the field and drop to ground and go all dead weight on them, lol.
Take a dump on the 50 yard line. Now that would be funny
This was local cable tv broadcast, right? Like...in between Waynes World and that guy's show about magic.
Not like it says CBS Sports in the top right or anything
Actually just happened at the DII level for Arkansas Tech this past Saturday as well, that was a fun one to watch
Billy Tubbs says “Hold my beer” 😂
What a crowd…
Head coach gets ejected during the game? Wish this would happen to Virginia Tech’s head coach, it would help us.
Idk why they haven’t fired him yet
And Jim Harbaugh
That's a first for me as well. I've seen it in basketball and baseball plenty of times. I can't recall a moment where the head coach of a football team, college or professional, was ejected from the game. Even more surprising is why it doesn't happen more often?
The official could have walked away as well. You’re choosing to stay next to someone that’s in the heat of the moment competing.
He starts to walk away at 1:24 but the coach follows him
@@williammcalpine2718 the ref walked along the sideline, where the coach is, the ref didn’t walk away toward the center of the field.
So his behavior is okay and the official was wrong...for not walking away (pick a direction) from a head coach?
@@dredey1971 The referee's duties are in the middle of the field, so he certainly could have walked away. I am old enough to remember Woody Hayes destroying a down marker, so I didn't see anything that merited ejection.
@@roberthudson1959 I see where you are coming from. I'll raise you....you don't know the actual referee duties.
It's 2021, a lot has changed since the days of Woody Hayes. For example, did you know they have cameras in the pylons these days? Also, an 18 year old football player can do just like an 18 year old GI and make money off his own name. Officials don't even wear all white pants anymore. Go figure!!!
This should happen a lot more. You watch an ND and Brian Kelly never shuts up talking to the ref. In no other sport are coaches allow the abuse the ref/umpire the way they are in football.
It’s a universal balancing to offset baseball umpires.
Exactly. Just look at Matt Campbell at Iowa State in the championship last year who wasn't penalized
AMEN! Some coaches think they are bigger than the game-- they're NOT!! ENFORCE Sportsmanship rules.
@@michaelfahey8333 some of the shit that they call is complete and utter nonsense though.. coaches have every right to argue against them. Don't be ignorant.
As a Notre Dame fan who watches every game, I can confirm this true
Not a chance he could sneak back into the stands with that "crowd" !
I went to High School with that coach. I find his behavior odd, as he was never a confrontational person. Give em hell Scooter!
Without Loeffler they scored just as many points in a quarter and half as they scored in 2 and a half when he was still in the game. But the defense went all to he!! after his ejection. The defensive coordinator must have vacated his position to be OC, LOL.
That’s wild!!
Hey @PSC Highlights, this wasn't the CBS game of the week. Can we get the highlights of what the coach was upset about?! Would like to see if the refs deserved the on-field criticism or not.
Does that stadium not have any fans or is the public address system just that loud?
How?
Turns out he's expendable. Think of the money BG could save!
Most of them are.
First time I've seen head coach ejected in football
Quite a crowd!
Just like the NBA, I sense Money's worth for Bowling Green's Head Coach after he was ejected & at the same time not cooperating.
I hear the song that starts at 1:25 all the time at stadiums but realized I have no idea what its called.
"Kernkraft 400", released in 1999.
This is a new one
I'm amazed it never happened to Bo Pelini at Nebraska
Right?! Bo cursed and yelled worse than any coach I known... and I enjoyed watching it. Ever since Bo we sucked but at least we are making our 3 and potentially 9 team look competitive with the top 25 teams. All loses within one score from being 8-1.
What part of "disqualified" and "ejected" does he not understand?
From the video, it looks like he was told the same time the crowd was. In football, EVERY officiated call has a flag (or hat or beanbag) associated with it. Regardless of when it actually takes place during the game. Even the announcers were confused when he was informed. He did eventually move away from the general coaching area, though slowly.
@@1SpartanD4L You are right. The official who called the foul should have very visibly thrown a flag.
Why isn't anyone at the game?
First time I see coach get ejected
After the call guns&roses was that to troll the ejected coach
The head ref probably used to be a minor league baseball umpire. Where arguing with and throwing out a manager wasn’t that big of a deal.
Is that a first HC ejection?
Of course.. my college is in the sports news for all the wrong reasons always
...This reconfirms my assertion that all football stadiums need to retire the song, "Sweet Child Of Mine" from their play lists.
Thank you.
2021 American football : where grown ass men's feelings were hurt.
I know right. And he was basically crying like a baby. Some coaches should not be leaders of young men.
wow this is great
I still don’t get why bowling green doesn’t have green uniforms.
Or a bowling pin logo
Just make your way to the booth coach, call plays from there. Bust out the Bobby V disguise…
Never seen an NFL COACH EJECTED, LET ALONE A COLLEGE COACH.
Meanwhile in baseball their managers are laughing.
I didn’t know Jason Alexander was ref
Glad the high school let them play on their field.
Wow this is division 1? There is like 30@ people in stands
You know you’re an insignificant head coach when you’ve been ejected from the game and no one notices.
Or his asst coaches are just better than he is.
We noticed - there wouldn't even be a video if "no one noticed"
And that should've been at least a third UC. That's the kind of stuff which can get games forfeited.
Alabama here.

they needed more attendance #s and started placing coaches in the bleachers.
Who are those people in the stands? They must be there for support.
Can someone confirm has this ever happened before in the past?
I feel like it probably has but I can't remember any instances off the top of my head.
Not for arguing with the refs, but a long time ago, Ohio State coach Woody Hayes was ejected for punching a Clemson player
i the century+ of f-bal, a few coaches hav been ejected [its vry rare]. this was reportedly the 1st time a coach has gotten ejected by rackin up 2 unsportsmanlike calls in a game -- that rule change happend a yr.+ ago ...
Shout-out my man Blaine Spires 🐐 he somewhere out there causing chaos!!
Why the hell do these schools even have teams? Did you see how scare with fans that stadium was? So pathetic.
What a wonderful example to set to your team, arguing and moaning all the way back to the locker room, for so long that you have to burn a timeout to prevent a delay of game penalty.
With technology this isn't even a big deal. Watch the game from a TV and use a headset to call plays simple as. We had this happen for us in high-school with our head FB coach. We had a guy get hit way out of bounds in a big rivalry game when we up pretty big and the refs didn't throw a flag. Me and a few of the other offensive linemen retaliated by driving the guy into the fence. We got a unsportsmanlike penalty and our coach threw the flag in the stands lol.
That’s amazing
I think there’s a rule that disallows technology like that. Conversely, he could probably get up to the press box
@@deleted2429
You mean like the exact technology they use on the sideline. What are they going to do unplug the radio transmitter. I think if he's ejected he has to go to the locker room like how players used to have to do with targeting fouls.
*nods*
I'm not sure but I think, by NCAA rule, a disqualified coach must cease all contact with his team.
It's the Bowling Green Massacre!

Bowling Green beat Minnesota earlier this year. Minnesota is leading the big ten west right now. Let that sink in.

He is the offensive play-caller. They had to go to the Associate Head Coach.

The two greatest mysteries in college sports has to be why doesn't Bowling GREEN not have green as one of their colors & why are they called the Falcons? Can Falcons bowl?
Bout time the refs have sum balls
Piss poor officiating, and I'm not talking about whatever happened on the field that got him so upset, as I saw nothing of the game.
It's bad enough to see these big time coaches show out in front of the camera when they know they are getting a little air time to try to look "intense", even worse when small time no name coaches do it.
