    Ian I've heard a lot of good things about that one. Great to see it was true! Great way of sorting out the linkage issue. So glad you're pleased with it! Great filming by Cheryl. Welcome to the balsa gang buddy...they fly different, but awesome!

      Well it definitely felt different to fly with my sausage fingers!! I did 3 loop the loops that turned into snap rolls 🤣😂 Thanks for watching and commenting Adam 😀👍

    Morning Ian …. Fantastic maiden and really well flown … it always feel that bit more nervous on a maiden … Lovely to see a traditional built balsa model and interesting how she flys ….. This is interesting to me .. I had an aborted go at getting in the hobby in the 90’s .. I bought planes but never got started at all but have three beautiful balsa planes made by VMAR including two scale Chipmonks .. but they need converting from IC to electric !!! A project for retirement ……. Lovely film .. Thank you .. Michael

    Wonderful flight,It looked super stable, locked in I love a new build/plane or chopper that your trims stay at 0. good call on the linkage rod. it looks good in the air. 20% plane 80% pilot. good flight looks good.

    Fab maiden and subsequent flights, Ian. Yes, balsa does fly stiffer and more precise than foam, but you'll get used to it in no time.

    Your gonna love that Bighorn. I love mine. I'm digging the lights 😎. I had a problem with a servo also. I had a bum aileron servo. It would randomly stop working. Contacted OMP and Buddy RC and never got a response. I just ordered a new servo for a few bucks and moved on with my life.

    Hey there Ian- Balsa is where it is at. I had a few Planes in Balsa, Edge 540 hit the tip o the wing on the light pole at the park. Had also an SU-31 great little plane by Great planes. That had a mid air collision with another plane at the park. WEll That is a very nice plane.

    Beauty plane Ian! I just assumed that there is nothing lighter than foam. I thought for sure balsa was heavier. Would you consider putting in the heaviest battery that you can to give the plane as much weight as possible?

    • @IansRCExploits
      @IansRCExploits  Месяц назад +1

      Dave I just couldn't get over how much lighter this plane was compared to a 1.2m foam plane, and stiffer for that matter!! I think putting a bigger lipo in would spoil the plane, so I'll just fly it on the recommended lipo, thanks for watching and commenting Dave 😀👍

    Hi again Ian and Cheryl! Gorgeous Plane that Ian, love the lights too, they really set it off, beautiful! I prefer larger high wing trainers like this, they're so much more stable and forgiving. I might even buy one myself!
    Ian I just wanted to say, I have noticed in your more recent videos that you are becoming much less anxious talking to the camera. I know myself how hard talking to camera is, I've tried it a few times myself and was almost shaking with nerves and kept forgetting what I wanted to say! LOL. ( Obviously those vids would NEVER be posted on here! My plans for my own YT channel is on the backburner for now! LOL ) Also talking while flying is really really hard too so well done on making great progress Ian, I'm really pleased for you mate!
    Thanks as always Ian and Cheryl!
    Wes

      Aww thanks Wes, I guess I just take it all in my stride now!! But it has taken me a few years to develop this technique, I found that keeping the channel unmonetised helps me!! It's just for fun, hope you're getting better Wes and thanks, I always love your messages 😀👍

      @@IansRCExploits Aww thanks for asking Ian! I'm slowly but steadily improving, and when I'm well enough I'll be buying myself a new Heli, probably a 450 size second hand. Also I want a new Plane, and I really like the one in this vid, it flies lovely! Thanks again mate, God Bless you n Cheryl.

    • @IansRCExploits

      It felt a lot more precise, and the lightness made it feel very floaty, I was definitely over controlling it, it's a nice ARF and is built very straight, I didn't have to trim it at all. Thanks for watching and commenting Cliff 😀👍

      With a little care balsa planes are surprisingly straightforward to repair.

    A very looking plane to fly. How strong is the structure. Would they be suitable for putting up with the vaibtations if given a Four stroke Glow engine

    • @IansRCExploits
      @IansRCExploits  Месяц назад +1

      Well it seems strong and very well built, but as for coping with a 4 stroke engine!! I have no idea, I'm sure with a bit of adaptation it could, but as this is my first Balsa and ply construction plane I haven't got that experience to know 😀👍
