As a lifelong Bulls fan as a Chicagoan, I fondly remember this New York Series (Detroit and New York were literally our OWN Championships. Beating them easily mean winning the whole thing.) LOVED watching those games--- they were all just SOOOO good. SOOOO competitive and SOOOO rewarding after the series victories. With those defensive titan teams out of the way, every Chicagoan (and most likely those from Detroit and New York as well--- they knew no one could stop the Bulls, let alone His Airness) breathed a sigh of relief and realized they were not to be denied a Championship. But despite the tragic mistake Mark Jackson, the man LEARNED from it, accepted accountability for it and became like every other player in the NBA..... Jordan will destroy you if one goes down this road. And as time has rolled on even more, Mark Jackson has clearly been convinced that MJ is simply the GOAT and gives him praise like all others who fell to his wrath from doing something foolish (which is a LOOOOOONG line of a list). I actually find Mark Jackson and those like him such a breath of fresh air as they age and realize not just their stupidity in poking the GOAT...... but to realize they LIVED and EXPERIENCED playing the GOAT and eventually realizing what every other NBA player who played in the MJ era realize (with VERY good reason)....... "Folks.... this man is categorically..... the GOAT." Just like how kids eventuall get old, mature and then realize..... OOPS!! The "yeah, Dad, you were right. That was dumb for me to do." Bottom line, I have a lot of respect for Mark Jackson as he gained so much wisdom as he has aged.
