Pilates Workout with a Stability Ball // Senior & Beginner Exercises with Fit Ball

- 30 minute workout using a stability ball is a full body workout good for all ages including beginners and seniors.
This workout video using a large exercise ball is pilates inspired and will focus on long lean muscle strength. You will really feel your thighs, core and butt with these exercises.
The fit ball will really challenge your balance which activates your core as a result. Sometimes, these new moves can feel awkward at first. Go slow, keep at it, and you will improve. No big deal if you drop your ball, just grab it and try again. You will get stronger!
Make sure your exercise ball is the correct size for you and that it is not blown up too firmly. You need it to be a little soft so you can grab it with your legs.

Nice Ms. Lauren ! HA I was surprised you didn't have us balancing a glass of water on top of the ball when we were holding it between our legs. I think I was able to work every square inch of my body with this ball.

These exercises are deceivingly simple, but when you sit on that balance ball and you work through the exercises your body is like: whoa, don't think I ever used those particular muscles before. I have 3 or four books, balance ball, balance ball with weights, pilates with strength bands, dumb bells, and many different combination exercises that use several of the before mentioned techniques. I can honestly say that cross training between these is quite challenging. Sometimes I want to whine when I notice some muscle pain, but it disappears after a while if I don't overdo it.
I have never before done so many different kind of strengthening exercises but there is no doubt they are of benefit.

I did this yesterday...still recovering! 😅! I LOVED it and all of the large stability ball workouts. I only fell off the ball twice! They were gentle falls though. Thank you Lauren for an awesome channel. I try and do a video daily. I don't consider myself a senior quite yet, but will always be a beginner.

This one was challenging but so worthwhile. I need to put this one in my regular rotation to see how long it takes me to feel more comfortable with some of the movements.

This was perfect, I am a young senior in very good shape. I would say it was Intermediate Level. Serious Pilates, however. Very simple movements but POWERFUL. Great teacher. Thank you!

I just got a swiss ball and this is the first video I tried. Three minutes in and I already feel so good. I am kinder in shape but lately i have been feeling sore so I decided to '"soften" things a little bit. This felt amazing

I adore ball exercises and this one was wonderful. I felt it in my legs and in my abs, and those push ups were a real pleasure since even I could do them. Thank you again dearest Lauren for making these accessible yet challenging workouts. I am 35 and I just started to get into shape. Hopefully with your workouts I finally will 💕

Wow! This was totally out of my comfort zone and gives me lots to work towards! I thought my core was stronger than it is! My hips are super loose now! Can't wait to see myself progress. Someday I'll hope to be able to stretch as low as you with my legs straight. For now I'm barely bending forward. :(

Is this workout suitable for a pregnant woman?
May depend on how pregnant you are. In the last trimester, you usually want to avoid laying flat on your back for too long.

Great workout, really good for my 70 year old hips! What size of ball do you use? Mine is smaller than yours , should I get a bigger one to get the most out of the session? Really love the variety of your videos, excellent!
Thanks so much Jane! My ball is a 65cm. The appropriate size ball depends on how tall you are. If you are shorter then 5'5 then a smaller ball is probably fine. You can also try adding more air to make it bigger. When you sit on it, you want the top of your legs to be parallel to the ground. If your knees are much higher, then you may benefit from a larger ball. Hope that helps!

Liked this workout but had difficulty on the one when you hold the ball behind when laying face down.
It IS tricky Linda. I suggest working on your chest and shoulder flexibility. Most of us are tight on the front sides of our body from sitting too much, or on our phones, computer, etc…

They shouldn't be impossible. Flexibility is just one of those things that is difficult at first, but gets better as you work on it.
Is this workout suitable if I have osteoporosis
