By far, my favorite Sci-fi show is definitely Firefly. I love it because when you watch it, it is the most relatable and lifelike to what the 'near' future could be like. Shame it only lasted one season.
Tv show? Space above and beyond ... Them angry angels flying something that somewhat resembles the SC Gladius is definitely an awesome childhood memory alright.
I personally loved a little show called Dark Matter. Only had 3 seasons before it was ultimately cancelled. But it really put on display, the end game state of corporate rule and the struggle of regular people in the know universe. The cast was amazing and the writing also incredible. Like Firefly, the show was ended way too soon.
Stargate SG1/Atlantis are my favorite Scifi series. I love all the characters and banter between them. Especially Jack and Daniel. I rewatch the whole series every couple years.
The Fifth Element. Best movie ever... why? Leeloo (Milla Jovovich), Christ Tucker, Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, Ian Holm and a loooong list of outstanding performances. Simple.
Eureka.
Was the first series that I could watch in OV with my limited English knowledge, because Carter always needed an extra explanation in simple speech.
Learned a lot. Laughed a lot.
Sparked my interest in dreaming about more technology and possibilities
Last star fighter, it's the first space movie I ever saw in theaters. Was great for it's time.
There are a lot of fantastic shows and movies, but the one I enjoy the most must be Firefly. The interaction between the cast is just amasing like watching a family going through space instead of a bunch of strangers in a box.
Not sure if it counts as sci fi but Demolition man was one of my favourites :D
just had a charm too it as most films of that era did
Great short video outlining the use of the Firebird!! I’ll have to say my favourite Sci-fi movie/series by far is Star Trek. I’m rewatching every single episode right now!! Old but gold.
Star Trek: The Next Generation, because of the diversity of the crew and missions they did. And of course when Q shows up, there’s always something fun around the corner.
For me, my favourite sci-fi show or movie has gotta be Interstellar. The sound design, concepts and over tone is so surreal, especially when you hear Hans Zimmer's theme for the first time. It's much like how playing star citizen is for the first time.
Star Trek:TNG was very episodic, it is inspiration how you can live on a ship for deep space exploration and the other wonderful SCIFI show I enjoyed a lot is the Expanse. Love the ships they look more authentic. Thank you for providing these givaways. Much appreciated.
Nice to see so many others remembering and appreciating my favorite TV series Stargate SG1/Atlantis!
I remember, on that Christmas day, when I was 10 years old, I received the 1997 Star Wars Special Edition VHS box set.
I was so happy, I watched it straight away.
I remember the amazement at discovering this universe with all these aliens, the droids, the fights in spaceships, the blasters and especially the lightsabers.
On the other hand, my memory is quite fuzzy, I don't remember if I managed to watch all 3 in a row or if I fell asleep in the middle xD
Today, this box set still sits proudly in my video library alongside its sequels/prequels and will forever remain the memory of the day I became a Star Wars fan.
"May the force be with you"
Stargate SG1/Atlantis will always be one of my favourite sci-fi shows, I used to watch it all the time growing up and still rewatch it from time to time.
My favorite Sci Fi must be the Expanse. Love the somewhat realistic space showcase and the interesting politics.
Star Wars isn't just a movie; it's a cultural phenomenon. The epic story and characters shaped my love for sci-fi.
Original 3 Star Wars hands down. Remember watching them as a kid and still holds that nostalgia. First space game that drew me in was 1990’s PC - Starflight. That was an epic game for its time
Firefly is definitely the best scifi series of all time - good acting, down to earth characters and just what I imagine the world will be in the future, if we ever make it
My favorite sci-fi show it is star trek. In particular the next generation series!
The original 6 Star Wars movies were what originally got me into the Sci-Fi scene and it just grew exponentially from there, the thought of exploring the vast unknown of space has always intrigued me!
Recent sub, finding your ship reviews to be a welcome addition to the community, I think I speak for everyone here when I say thank you. Wish everyone luck as well.
Ah missed the part where I needed to talk about my favorite TV show or movie… hm that’s a tough one. I honestly love Futurama as a great Sci-Fi show.
Have been a great Fan of the entire StarTreck Series. When i still was a child my mother watched them together with me so i got hooked Up pretty early and couldnt Stop Watching since then.
Lost in Space!! It’s a classic and must watch! Follow the Robinson family find its way thru galaxy after a hyperdrive jump!!!
The Mandalorian show from Star Wars, can't get enough of bounty hunting
my favorite sci-fi film is the Star Wars films... they hooked me since I was a child. And whenever I play Star Citizen, that enthusiasm that I felt as a child returns... the feeling that this game gives us is very good.
Battlestar gallactica TV series and the modern Star Trek movies. All were directed for a broader audience and had deep character backstories and relationships. Modern SCI-FI like these have incredible action and drama scenes.
Favorite Sci-Fi show/movie has got to be Space Balls, I never quite got the appeal of Star Wars growing up, but this comical take on it gets me rolling in laughter every time I watch it. If that doesn't count, I have grown to like the Mandalorian, the Star Wars lore with my enjoyment of post-apoc games and movies helped me sink into it more than the original films.
I first pledged to SC in 2015 the same year that the Expanse came out and my love for them both only continues to grow!
My favorite Sci Fi series is star wars as this is what I watched when I a younger with my dad. I remember, all I wanted to be for many years was a jedi. Finally got to realize my dream when I visited America in 2023 and went to galaxy edge. Star wars for me, will always hold a special place in my heart.
Seeing a lot of golden oldies. My favorite movie so far is the 2021 DUNE movie. The character story and build up is in my opinion top notch!
I really liked Eureka it was a cool show and had some unique sci-fi concepts to make things interesting
Farscape hands down. Unlike most sci fi tv series it was about characters first. Every episode you were watching them changing with what they faced.
YEEESSSSSSSSS
@@alexanderdooley5833 Thank god someone still remembers this show. Their stars said they would like to continue to the series. I hope sci fi channel pick this up.
@@onura2710 as much as I want reboots and continues.... no one is making great tv shows atm. id prefer they stay in my heart untouched.
@@alexanderdooley5833 Thats my fear to. Make a show with same name but something horrible. I have a huge Star wars fanboy friend. After watching new trilogy he gave up on sw. at nearly 40 his house was like a sw temple. Now he boxed it all. Nothing kill a frenchise worse than a bad squel.
Stargate SG1/Atlantis. I grew up watching that show every other summer from the very first movie. Part of the reason why i bought the pisces as my first pledge is because it looks like a puddlejumper.
I love The Expanse. Both the books and the show. Because it's really realistic.
My fave has to be batteries not included. One of the most over-looked movies of all time.
Favorite sci fi movie is Sunshine. It's compelling and unique. It transforms from a serious sci fi about re-igniting a dying star to a nerve wrecking horror experience. Great movie to watch more than once.
Firefly is my favorite. When it came out, it perfectly filled out all that I look for in any show (good continuous story line, humor, characters to love and identify with, action, etc) and bonus of being Sci Fi mixed with a "wild west" feel to it.
By far favorite SciFi is still Fifth Element...so many big names that went on to do other stuff involved and funny stories from production and the cast.
I love the off-beat 1970s film Silent Running, but Alien 1 and 2 will always be my favourites especially as there are aspects and ships in SC that fit in with that general vibe.
My favorites are the star treks because they remind me the most of star citizen aspects
My favorites SCIFI series are Stargate and recently The Expanse !!! 😁 the storyline of these series allows you to travel without moving from your sofa !
My favorite Sci-Fi show is the original Star Trek series. Theres something so simple yet extravagant about it. They did so much with so little in terms of effects. Its funny and goofy but it feels like a lot of the sci-fi that came after references it or has similar themes. Runner up is futurama since i grew up on it!
Just found your channel! My favorite sci fi show is Futurama. I love the jokes and all the adventures they go on. Bender and fry are a good duo.
Stargate is my favorite Scifi series. Used to see my perants watch it all the time and eve now I think its grate, like the fact that you can just jump in any episode and still enjoy it with out knowing the entire series.
My favorite show was Battlestar Galactica season 1. It was so well written and it really paid homage to the original without ruining it as so many remakes do, while expanding it and taking it on a different ride.
Don't usually watch a lot of sc-fi shows but if there was one; definitely Love, Death + Robots, for its variety of unique animation and crazy uniquely different episodes. Never gets boring
My favorite Scifi show is Babylon 5. It was my first exposure to Newtonian space combat and the Starfury is one of my favorite starfighter in fiction. I also love how the series managed to tie its episode into an overarching plot and end the series on a satisfying and emotional note.
my favorite sci-fi these last few years has been Foundation, the world building and everything has been great!
I grew up in the 80s and 90s and always watched Star Trek, always loved those shows
The Expanse, the first season was great, getting to see different perspectives from each faction (belters, mars and earth) through different characters made the world feel lived in and real.
I've been geeking out on Foundation ... The cinematography is beautiful, and it's just fun to see how they're translating Asimov's expansive timeline into something cohesive for the screen.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch. The Clone Wars was one of my favorite shows during my childhood.
I was so glad when they announced the final season after so many years, and even continued the story of The Bad Batch afterward.
Sadly The Bad Batch also recently ended.
Return of the Jedi, it was the first movie I remember watching as a kid and the one that got me hooked on SCI-FI and more specifically star wars. To this day Star Wars is still my fav franchise because of my love for ROTJ.
For my favorite Sci-fi series was Star Trek, since I liked the morality tales that were built into the original series even though I only saw them as reruns when i was growing up.
Farscape is one of those underappreciated sci fi shows. The last season in particular was getting a little mercenary vibe I was looking forward to seeing more of.
Star Trek - The Next Generation is my all time favorite, but honestly pretty much love all the different series. I even love the newer cartoon series (like Below Deck and Prodigy).
The Expanse is my favourite. There's a level of authenticity about it that makes it stand out from more fantastical sci-fi, even when the story dives deep into fantasy of its own.
Elysium are my favorite , a great world showing how a community is divided and how much some people are worth to others. The production shows us what the next stage of technological advancement on Earth may look like.
Firefly seems like a no brainer as favorite Sci-Fi series, but the array of Star Wars and Star Trek shows (As well as the Stargate franchise) are hard to ignore since there's such a broad range there.
The Interstellar is one of my favorite SCI-FI movies. It is about humanity trying to save the species from extinction. It is about space exploration, finding a new planet for people to live in, and it is currently like the Star Citizen game we currently love so much.
The Fifth Element is a wild ride from start to finish. It's a perfect blend of humor, action, and sci-fi.
It recent years my favourite has got to be The Expanse. Specifically of how they show the effects of space travel with the high g manoeuvres.
Firefly. Because Summer Glau, my teenage crush. And the show is also hilarious thanks to Nathan Fillion.
My favourite show is Expanse. Great story, good acting.
Thank you for doing the giveaway! I know it's standard, but probably the Expanse is my favorite sci-fi show. Such good writing and special effects.
Hi! Just saw you in game! Favorite sci fi series has got to be Stargate SG-1. My uncle told me about it right before I went to college back in 08, and I ended up binging all 10 seasons instead of going to class my second semester. Got so hooked, ended up watching Atlantis, but didn't like Universe as much, but SG-1 will always be my favorite. Dr Who is up there as well, but I like space ship fights vs alien races.
Arrival's approach to language and communication with aliens is brilliant. It's a sci-fi movie with a powerful message.
My favorite sci-fi movie: Donnie Darko. The soundtrack, awesome. Mind-bending sci-fi.
My favorite sci-fi movie is Galaxy Quest, I love its send-up of Trek and the genre more broadly.
Star Wars is my favorite since childhood. It’s was the penultimate good vs evil, and believing in things beyond your imagination. Timeless concepts even when we become more nuanced as adults. I’ll always love the original trilogy.
My favorite sci-fi show would have to undoubtedly be "The Expanse" because of its rich, intricate storytelling and the way it mixed science fiction with human drama. The show's complex characters, story and realistic depiction of space travel, in my opinion creates a gripping narrative that kept me engaged every single episode. Amazon if you’re seeing this, we need a season 7!
If it counts, I’d say the Fifth Element is my favorite sci-fi . It’s one I can always turn on in the background and I quote it daily.
Other favorites are:
Sci-fi horror: the thing.
Space sci-fi: Aliens.
Dune is my favorite series. Not only was it a great film with phenomenal acting, writing, and cinematography, but it’s also gotten me back into reading! I’m well into the first book and plan to complete the series.
My favorite sci-fi TV show is The Expanse, which is why I like Drake ships so much; they have that Expanse look.
Chronicles of Riddick was one of my favourites, with Pitch black an such.
Battlestar Galactica was my favorite. I watched the show through a carboard cockpit I made. I still like the launch tube concept that they launched the Viper's from.
I've always loved Tron and the design of the vehicles and locations in that franchise it's just pure beauty on the eyes, Oh and the music is incredible.
Starship Troopers. It's always been my favorite...if that movie ever shows up anywhere I'm looking, I'ma stop and watch lol
Favourite sci-fi movie : Star Wars 3 Revenge of the sith because the duel on mustafar with the ost is just perfect
Goated
I love the Expanse, i read the first 10 books and watched the whole series. Expanse just has that felling of very real and possible future.
One of my favorites is the anime Space Battleship Yamato, the blending of ww2 and futuristic space settings was always a fun and quirky combo to me.
Favorite sci-fi show is Farscape. A wild ride from beginning to end. Think it is mostly seeing John Crichton trying to survive and introducing our or rather his crazed brand of human spirit on the other side of the universe.
Battlestar Galactica is my favorite scifi show, not only it has space stuff but also with some mysticism and faith ingredients which makes it perfect.
The OG star wars trilogy on VHS defined my childhood and sparked my love of sci-fi in the early 90s.
The Expanse of course! If you've seen it, you know why, but I find the mixture of futurism and realism a really addictive mix.
I have to go with Red Dwarf being my favourite one. There are so many others great movies and series, but when it comes to humour, atmosphere and nostalgia, there can be only one.
Appreciate you doing the giveaway! The Expanse is one of my favorites! I love how the ships in the universe have a sense of realism to them
Firefly or battlestar galactica are my true classics. I love that SC gives me the feeling of being IN a world similar to those. 👌🏻
I absolutely love the cinematography and visuals of Avatar, plus the helis. def my favorite scifi movie
Probably "Monsters of Man" right now. Pretty gruesome movie about ai-controlled military robots being tested in a jungle where one becomes sentient. Doesn't hold back on the gore and the capability of robots vs unarmed people, and the CGI looks amazing! Hoping that a sequel comes out soon!!
Revenge of the Sith! I absolutely love how happy and positive the movie starts out and everyone is happy, and by the end, the whole universe has completely flipped and there is little to no hope. I loved how dark they went with it!
My favorite Scifi movie is probably Interstellar. It's a movie I can watch repeatedly and appreciate a different perspective each time. It also feels very real while also taking liberties. Runner ups have to be any Star Wars animated shows or Firefly.
My favorite is probably "The Thing" with Kurt Russell. Incredible synth score, great practical effects, and terrifying atmosphere.
I've ingested so much sci-fi media over the years it's really hard to choose one in particular; Battlestar Galactica was a longtime favorite. Expanse I think does hard sci-fi with the highest fidelity. I got super into Dune when I was a teenager. Star Wars is, of course, a pillar of the genre and I think sent me down the path early in life when my parents exposed me to it as a kid.
Apollo 13 with Tom Hanks ! A very good spatial movie with scientific touch 😊
Star Gate Atlantis, always had this homely feeling to it. Like you just want to be part of the group and team. Helped that i watched it with my Brother and we were a bit like John and McKay as well. Always a good time and a good memory towards it.
For me it was Star Wars A New Hope when I was 6 years old. Plain and simply brilliant.
