    Morning Sean the reason MCN don’t like the Voge is because it’s in direct competition to the Honda and the voge doesn’t pay the bills like Honda and the other Japanese and BMW ktm etc do, I learnt this from the horses mouth a bike journo at our hotel when we were at the Nurburgring, the mags he wrote for will happily slate a lesser manufacturer who were not paying their bills through advertising. I learned this in 1979 when I was working for BMW, I shared a room with a journo on a trip organised by BMW for testing new bikes.

      Thanks Pete. I would add that I think they also use the entry level brands as an opportunity to build credibility. If you read a really bad review of a lesser known bike the uninitiated person would think this magazine isn't all praise and kind words they must be an honest rag. I think in MCN they see a Chinese bike I assume they don't have contacts in china or with the UK importer so there are no negative consequences to a harsh review. In reality brands like Suzuki have had perfect reviews time and time again, perhaps those bikes are great bikes who knows, but the new Himmy 450 review in MCN they did not mention that it has not got cruise control a weird omission given the bike is marketed as having more power to go further on the highway and it has ride by wire meaning it's reasonably easy to set up cruise. Another point is the the mags and papers all use the same writers and stories. The messaging is the same across multiple publications...

    Cheers for doing a breakdown on the Voge brand, great to see some more exposure to the brand! Top vid. Regarding your remarks on the 125, that price difference gives young or new riders the money to buy proper gear as well as insurance to help get them on the road! I have my eye on 125s as my eldest reaches 17 he wants on a bike!

      Thanks Booby, appreciate the support. These videos on lesser known brands always get less views but I really am a fan of Voge! Great bikes and well priced. Excellent comment about young riders buying the correct kit. The £2,000 saved buys a lot of safety kit but also bike security and insurance premiums...

    I am waiting for the 350AC, the specs are good. The 500 and 525 are too heavy for the performance. I have a 650 with 40hp and wet 177kg. Torque 49,2 at 4500 rpm, that is what I am looking for. Not a bric on the road, therefore the 350 is way more interesting. The Xride came with knobby tyres but they went of before purchase for no extra cost, now I have Dunlop Mutant tyres. Much better on the road, not for of road.

      I just looked up the 350ac it's 31KW and 165hp, that is light! If I was in the UK I would probably ask Voge to test one. Love a light bike ☺️

    The dsx 525 is choked by the euro5 standards..Here on my region we switch the headers with the pre- catalysts to headers without pre- catalysts , we change the air filter with a performance air filter and we are re- programming the ecu..for a 500€ you experience the true capabilities of the bike..And its a WOW thing to do..Trust me..

    We don’t have these in the US, but if the Moto Morinis catch on, and Benellis soft relaunch shows success, we may well in the future.

    • @MindfulMotorcyclist
      @MindfulMotorcyclist  5 месяцев назад

      It's a strange old market the USA, sometimes you get the creme of the crop (I remember being envious back in the 2000s when you guys had the manual gearbox V10 BMW M5, Europe only had the quite basic SMG gearbox), other times you miss out on particularly the smaller capacity bikes that perhaps don't suit the wide open roads there all that well. Moto Morini s haven't caught on all that well in the UK at least, perhaps with the exception of the X cape 650 adv bike which they are now releasing in a 1200 guise. Benelli and Morini do better on the continent and in Italy in particular of course. Personally I think in the UK people have a programmed in dislike of made in china motorcycles, it's a combination of people looking back to the age of British manufacturing which was now over 50 years ago and the bombardment of anti China messaging in the news. They don't have that problem in mainland Europe.

    great reply to me thanks ,,, yes the bike suits those roads ,,, the engine is believed to be developed from the rotax built / bmw / aprilia f 650 ,,, so is decades old and well proven , - so you need not worry too much about the daft overkill service run in nonsense ,, but if you are like me and an increasing amount of riders - then cruising about is a lot more enjoyable than heading full chat into the next lamppost ,, enjoy ;;

    Personally, i would go the CF moto route with their association with KTM for easy servicing etc...they have a good choice...the MT 450 is out soon and told will be between 5 and 6k UK. Think it will be a great seller...KTM's are being manufactured in China... I'm sticking with Yamaha for now though!

      I am hugely excited to see the CFmoto 450. It for me is probably be favourable to both the Himalayan 450 and the Triumph scrambler 400x. I doubt it will sell as well as those bikes because of the name but I think it will be awesome! If it comes in superlight as well I will be tempted. For me Voge and CF are the best Chinese brands, followed by Zontes a close second. Thanks, Sean

    Got to say I've never seen a Voge when out and about, although i most likely wouldn't recognise one if i had. I take your point that they are cheap but what about residuals a Honda etc holds its price well but a Voge, that's something to think about.

    • @MindfulMotorcyclist

      Hi Ian, I did put up a video telling the story of how much I lost on the Voge I owned, it was a lot 🤣 Many people wrote in the comments that they had also lost a lot of money on established brands come trade in time but the difference is that with an unrecognised brand it's hard to sell at any price. Some dealers won't accept it and much less interest from the buying public. I wonder how much I would get for my BSA from a dealer, I expect around £4k 🤔

    Hi Sean- I have never heard of this brand before. They have a pretty descent line-up of bikes. I tried on the internet to see if they were here in the USA. I found no information so I am assuming that they have not reached our shores. If they were here & I was in need of a bike(which I am not), I would give them a shot. Have a great day!! Illinois, USA P.S. Are you in Spain?

    Not familiar with the Voge range at all, just from your video’s . I know that there is a cruiser from Moto Morini, dealer hour n half from me. And CF Moto as well.
    Think for me stick to My Rebel and Bumble the Meteor, got an independent service centre an hour away the owner is an RE fan and owner.
    Just feel up my neck of the woods, getting it. A service centre, and trade in prices . It’s better to play safe.
    But, these new bikes that are coming out, definitely look excellent quality. I did see the Keeway 302 cruise. It looked well made, and felt very decent,when I sat on it.
    😊 best wishes, to you both..😊

      We went out today to Ibiza town to the honda dealer and Suzie sat on a rebel 500. She preferred it to the Kawasaki Vulcan actually. Her feet both on the floor of the rebel which she really liked. I liked the colours as this one was a special edition it was a kind of bronze with brown seat. Very smart indeed. Do you have that one or the 1100 Mark?

    • @weemark67
      @weemark67 5 месяцев назад

      @@MindfulMotorcyclist I got the 500se. Titanium with tan seat. You see it in my garage videos. Lovely engine. Great for shorter folk. But be of no use to a 6 footer plus.
      Keep this for a bit, then the 1100 be the most logical step.
      Best regards

    There is some conjecture that the BMW line up from the 850 onward are Loncin designed and built engines, much like the earlier Rotax engines were not BMW. I own a DSX and for all intent and purpose it is a copy and paste of the BMW f850gsa. A real change is coming to global bike markets.

    l was in a Voge dealers a little while ago and was really surprised at the quality look of the bikes, all were 125's and 350's. A young lad l know has got a Lexmoto LXR125 and has had nothing but trouble with it, the rear sprocket hub collapsed and it's had numerus electric problems. l have worked on it and the quality is very poor. The Voge looks a step up

      Hi Mark, I've since learned that the not all Chinese bikes are equal. I would say CF are the leader in terms of brand name recognition at least, Voge are very nice when you see them up close. Zontes are a close second to these two big brands and then you've got a whole array of brands of varying quality, I personally don't like these bikes that are ordered from a factory in China, shipped over here badged with a union jack and so on. My view is when a bike is designed and made in China then exported to the rest of the world not pretending to be anything but that then you typically get a decent machine. Thanks 👍
