How To: Change a motorcycle stator

In this video we go through changing a motorcycle stator.
Specific to this video is a 2006 Daytona 675, although it will be very similar for other motorcycles.
Step by step:
-Drain Oil
-Disconnect battery
-remove cover
-Unplug stator
-remove stator windings and wires
-Install new stator
-Chase back the wires and plug in the new connectors
-Fill with oil
-Rev to your hearts desire

Is this a common issue with 07 Daytonas? My batteries keep dying. Even after keeping them inside during winter, every spring i charge a new battery and then they die within weeks

I have no idea how to identify the stator i have. Its a 170cc scooter. The brand us an odd Chinese name. Its an 18 pole but tgats all i can determine from looking at it. Any idea how to identify it?
