    You always do an excellent job not only explaining how to use Excel features and formulas, but also explaining the advantages of one method over another and providing solid real world examples of how and when to use the features and formulas in Excel. Thank you for being so generous with your knowledge and thorough in your teaching technique. You are appreciated. ~ Lennox

    Thank you for all of your helpful videos. Is there a way to prevent Excel 2016 (Office 365) from creating sub fields for date fields when you drag a date field into the row or column section of a pivot table. For example, when dragging a date field the pivot table will automatically create a month, quarter and year sub field. As handy as it may be, I would like to turn it off as the default. Thank you.

    • @excelisfun
      @excelisfun  6 лет назад

      The setting to turn it off in in Data Tab in Excel Options.

      Thank you for the information. For some reason I do not have the Data tab in the Excel options area. When looking at your options in this video, I also noticed I don't have the "Ease of access" tab either. Is there another way to access the data tab without going to File\Options\Data? Maybe my ability to access the data options has been disabled? Any idea? Thank you for your help.

    Dear Professor Girvin. First, thank you very much for the amazing videos.
    I have a situation at work. I have a set of row data with about 32K rows and about 20 columns. It is not a continuous data. The data is scattered in different rows and columns. I tried to sort and filter it but it didn't work. When I tried to do a pivot table, the sum field doesn't' default to sum. Instead it does a count. I learned from you that that happens when there is a text. In this case it is not the case. Please advise on how to handle this project. Thank you very much.

    Hi, I am keep hearing about this new feature of setting default layout of pivlt table, but it doesn't work for me... I am using Excel 2016 (professional version) and it automatically updates itself, but I simply do not have this section in settings. Do you have an idea where the problem is?

    • @excelisfun
      @excelisfun  6 лет назад

      It is Microsoft being Microsoft - by making it so confusing and hard for all of us. They have about 20 different options. I have no idea any more...
