This was great for explaining and using VLookup. I’ve tried and failed a number of times at understanding it. I love that you reinforce many of the things we learn throughout the lesson and in subsequent lessons. However, in the homework section, which I’d nailed in every lesson until I got to the very last one in this class when you mention about what to return if the cell is blank. I simply couldn’t remember how to use isblank and ifna as you kind of glossed over it in the previous lesson and didn’t show how to use it with vlookup, so this was a really tough one. In the end, I had to keep pressing F2 on the answers page. Now that I have done it a few times, I have a sheet at work that I can test it on multiple times for practice. I’m sure it’ll became second nature. I’ve learned so much from these lessons and hugely appreciate that they’re free. Knowledge is power.

Also, I'm thinking back on how much time I've lost because I didn't go down to the last cell and hit F2 to check the formula. You really hammer that point home in these videos.

Handy tip: don’t save the workbooks as you go along. That way you can re-open them and do all the exercises again and again for a refresher and to lock in what you’ve learned. Only save when you first open the workbook after downloading so you don’t get the Edit warning each time you open it.

Absolutely!!! Do this forever 100% of the time for every file that you ever download from internet. I taught this mandatory computer skill in the early videos in this class.

@@excelisfun I have had to go back to number 16 as the cell reference thing has been bamboozling me and not having saved it is really helping as I did have to try and figure out what I need to remove andI have to work hard at doing the exercises again. It still bamboozles, to be fair, but I’m making minor progress.

Thank you for this great Video.
I am not sure how reduce my time working on 2 differents workbooks.
some infos I need are in severals cells in the same worksheet from workbook A. And the lookup value is the chq number.
I would like vlookup to gather for instance the amount, payment date, bank ref, customer ref from Workbook A and find all these values and populate them on Worbook B in specific cells that need to be completed with the same info.
I hope this makes sense. Can V-lookup do this? Thanks a million.

Your videos have made me view excel in a whole new light. Thank you so much! Small question, anychance you could do a video on importing csv files? I find when I import bank statement csv's and try to use any of the data excel doesnt know what to do. I have to actually hit enter, to enter the cell then enter again to get excel to see the numbers. I have tried copy and paste values into a new sheet, I have tried format > Currency but nothing seems to work

Do you have any videos about rotating data WITHIN a table using a macro? I have a class project and while I used one of your videos to help my properly shift information from on table to my current table, I am now perplexed as to how I can shift ALL of that information over once cell. In this case, I realized that the copy and paste function wont work, because I need to be able to run the macro three different times, each time the data within the cells should rotate one cell to the right, and the last cell should take the place of the first cell.
