No Man's Sky is a science-fiction game about exploration and survival in an infinite procedurally generated galaxy.

Developed by Hello Games, the indie studio behind PS3 hit Joe Danger, No Man's Sky is a science-fiction game without limits. If you see a mountain, you can trek there. If you see a planet hanging on the horizon, it's a real place, with its own rich ecology. You can get in your ship, fly into space and it's yours to explore. Not just that, but every star in the sky is the light of a sun, with its own solar system waiting for you to discover and find adventure in. - Игры
Here's everything we've seen so far:
E3 Demo:
Scan for resources, finds Heridium (sellable resource)
Gets in ship and takes off
Wingmen buddies fly in
Fleet warps in, is immediately attacked by enemy forces
player saves fleet from enemy forces, chasing them to nearby planet
Ship-to-ship combat w/ missiles and locking, ships that are shot down persist in the world
Game Awards Demo:
Gets in ship, almost attacked by mechanical walker thing
receives distress signal from nearby planet
Flies to planet, finds crashed ship next to stargate
Enters stargate, ends up on opposite end of universe
PSE Demo:
In space station gains Heridium somehow (maybe to show it's in the player's possession?)
Takes off with new wingmen buddies (or other npcs)
Flies to outpost, docks
Trades half the Heridium for 1357 units
In just these trailers alone, we've established:
Ship-to-ship combat
ground combat (or survival)
resource collection and trade
Dynamic events (fleet interdiction, distress signals, etc)
Points of Interest (marked with those purple dots on the ship HUD)
Faction interaction (like the fleet warping in and the enemy faction attacking them)
I really, really, really don't get why people just think this game is just "walking around looking at dinosaurs" when everything we've seen is so interesting gameplay-wise.
Might be because of the AAA generic marketing, people are used to being handed all the information vocally or by text and can't figure it by themselves by simply being observant.
Wow, you're very dedicated! Just hope the game is as good as the hype train!
Don't mind them. They are fools. FOOLS.
its an exploration game, not a 1st person shooter with 3 inch maps like call of duty
I'm simply amazed that this game obviously has a fps aspect to it and they have yet to show much, if any combat on foot. I am extremely curious to see how you can interact with the alien life, being attacked by hostile aliens or using friendly ones as companions or mounts. And how much of your weapons and ship you can find as loot vs purchasing. if they have loot system and some customization/crafting ill be addicted.
Honestly this is the terrain generation I want, the rugged tips and sharp edges give a more life-like feel, vs the smooth mounds that the current version has.
Me too. I wish we had real desert planets like this. There's something about that style that gives the game a different feel and atmosphere .
Same here buddy, i miss the game’s 90’s minimalistic sci-fi cover style too, the current game is not bad at all, far from that, but this particular style is special to me
@@futavadumnezo There are desert planets(in fact one was in my home system and I built my first base ever on one) and they look way more realistic now than they did before.
@@TabalugaDragon realistic doesn't mean better lul
we need actual sand planets
I physically can't wait for this game.
I'm going to go insane.
Nearly almost a year of covering it and then all this new beautiful gameplay is shown.
Feels good to be writing a script about No Man's Sky again.
I've missed it
I'm literally shaking here of excitement. I MEAN FOR REAL IM SHAKING. Can't wait...
Can't wait for the video Prophets!
ik how you feel literaly this game is just tease after tease xD i need it!
LEIBO99 The script feels like poetry.
This is going to be a good one hopefully I finish it tonight ;pp!!!
this is just the kind of game i love so much limitless potential you get to name everything discover all of it and collect and explore. i could waste my whole life on this kind of game just by trying to see all of it
I could get lost for forever with this game.
zamardii12 but endless fun
zamardii12 ye, imagine this together with VR ( if they succeeded with it well enough to be any good that is) !!
zamardii12 It's getting better.
@@jagwam The game is great now and is going to be released on VR any hour now!
lost in nothingness
The music, the sound effects, the graphics...just breathtaking. Can't wait to pop this in my PS4, shut the lights off, put on my surround sound headset and just get absolutely lost in this amazing game. Let's go August 9th!!!
and now your sad
Exact opposite actually. I'm in love with this game. Its fuckin amazing despite what some reviewers say. The negative reviews are always the loudest. Go try it dude
the pc version is complete trash. With 2 980 ti you cant barelyget 60fps. 29% recommend this game on steam which is a fucking joke
Disable the second graphics card. from what i heard it's not optimized for sli. I'm running it fine on a 960, usually 60fps ant max settings.

SalmonPunk it’s actually doing really well they have multiplayer missions the nexus vehicles VR bases electricity character models.

Currently the game is good but different than this, my dream is that game there, just waiting...
It's honestly better than this. There's nothing I see here that we don't have
@@dangerousish7837 I don't know about the new update, but before that the game is not even close the promissed, "unique planets", no it isn't, the main thing is that, the planets are not even close the trailers, the animal model too, look at the E3 2014 trailer, ive been playing NMS since 2016 and I never seen a planet like that, look at details.
Dangerous ish actually good animals, good pro gen good music better story more interaction good resources fast warps factions good scanning better ui sand worms dinosaurs different monoliths good graphics I could keep going
@@illuminate7332yeah but I do not saying that the actual game is bad but As I say, I don't know about the new update, but before that the part UNIQUE PLANETS does not exist, and the animals and plants are not so good as the trailers, Just look at them, when the animal hit the tree, the animal animation in the water, the inteligence when in a group and warever, the things in E3 2014.
@Units Received but not all of them.
2:10 - 3:00 that part almost made my heart stop
a fricken masterpiece. This is why the ending of NMS is genius.
Funny how even with the massive (and awesome) improvements this game got, it still looks completely different to these trailers 😂
True but it doesnt necessarily mean the trailers are better than the current game we have now

Man, this is freaking insane! I'm seeing this game as game of the century, you can bet on that.
The team who made it is pure genius.
hello games have a big chance of winning fans back even more they should focus on putting new things into the game with updates it's never too late.
Hi! I know it's been three years but please tell me how you predicted the future?
How ambitious. Procedural generated planets are one thing, they have much fewer variables. But species? Aliens defined by their randomly generated environments? Impossible. Make a ecosystem for each planet ONE player explores? There'd be millions upon millions of different species. Each different and unique? That's a game of its own, and if this game accomplishes that, well it's a break through not just for gaming.
+Noah Ford totally agree. this is new way of building games
I agree, it's amazing, the way they do all this though is not by coding it in, but making it use mathamatic algorithms to generate different animals, plants, and envioements for each planet from the exsisting assets given to the program, therefore creating something sorta like mine craft for example since they use the same system, however the one for no mans sky is much bigger and much more complex, allowing it to create entire universes filled with infinite planets
+chedder140 I sometimes wonder how a team of 10 can pull this off. It's incredible how amazing this game looks so far. Also, considering they are hiding A LOT OF STUFF from the public, I just can't wait to get my hands on this game already.
+KingGEARGAMING agreed, I absolutely cannot wait till the game comes out in June
+Heigen I like to think this is what Spores Space stage should have been, but man this game is incredible I cannot wait to play it!!!
SO. MANY. *FUCKING*. PLANETS!!!
So many galaxies o_O
LegoTechPlane SO MANY WAAAIIITIIINGGGG
Ahh yeah of course I mixed up solar system and galaxy again -_- Its mind blowingly huge. Even if its procedurally generated, its still freaking huge.
When this game comes out I'm going to attempt to run across a whole planet lol :)
this game has over 600.000.000.000.000 star systems now every star system has around 2 to 33 planets (discovered so far in our universe) now a galaxy cointains around 20 billion star systems you know the math
This trailer is so awesome. Graphic is beautiful and music is perfect
For those asking about the porpuse of the game. I think this game is very philosophical. Even from the very premise of the game. what's the goal? what's the point? and yep that's the question same question we real humans have been asking for centuries. why are we here?, what's lifes porpuse? what's the goal?. We are natural explorers trying to find the answers we don't know yet maybe we will never know.
I think my purpose in life is to become a famous videogame music composer but that's not true considering the inmensity of the universe, how complex and fragile life is. I have no real purpose here I'm just a tiny life form spending the 80 70 years I will luckily live just doing things.
With this universe it's easy to think why did God make us? If we were never meant to go out of this solar system, why is there a universe out there? What awaits humans outside the galexy? Will humans destroy earth and and go out of this planet and colanize other ones? What happens then? The madness in this game, could there be actual planets like this out there? How are u understanding all of this? Why would someone read this? Y are u reading this? Y am I typing this? Still reading? This comment is boring
Mazeen Mohammed Christians say God made the universe to show his glory to mankind. They never said you couldn't explore it if you had the technology.
+js100serch yeah we need to think that the game is more complex
also, trying to think about purpose.
not for fun and exciting something more heavy
+js100serch yeah and also: never forget your gun and also never forget to check your ammo counter at the top right.
+weabooathiestrash T-T God isnt real buddy,
This trailer was fantastic. If the game only launched in a similar place it was now instead of being a mess. It is hard to imagine No Man's Sky being anything but a financial and critical success. The game still shows the extensive stress of its' incredible ambition but they knew they were creating something special. No Man's Sky today is remembered for its' launch but also for its' textbook definition of a great redemption arc. Not only did they set out to deliver on much of what they promised with hits and misses but Hello Games is still at it.
Well the game is a finncial sucess and was even back when it launched
Thank you, HelloGames, for developing this amazing game!
Me: Alright this is cool, but i think there wont be too many planets to explore.
*2:10**-**2:57** happens*
I JUST EXPLODED!
I read an article or two talking about how many planets there were, and I STILL was surprised. I guess videos really do mean more than a few paragraphs.

Pffft. I'm personally enjoying the game. Though, can't play it right now because of sub-optimal frames on lush planets. :C
growing up my mum always told me i shouldnt smoke because her father died of cancer, ohh how i wish i hadnt listened to her advice because i got cancer from this game anyway and i could have been enjoying a few nice cigarettes anyway
Fucking LOL
Super hyped for this game, but I mean we still haven't seen any immersive gameplay.. Like interactions between npc's (besides pilots that fly beside you), gathering resources, or space dogfights. Love the idea of an endless open world that we can explore, but am hoping that you guys can display the other crucial parts of a game that make a game great.
Please tell me the PC version is coming out next year. I know that PS4 gets it earlier, but waiting for this game is just agonizing.
im going to buy a ps4 for this. im not waiting any longer than i have too
Matt Pace I totally understand that. I'm planning to buy one for Bloodborne and Uncharted 4.
Matt Pace i bet it's going to be glitchy at launch like every game out recently. i would wait 2 months or so just to make sure everything is smooth when i get it.
Brick Tamland
he said that they didn't want to release the game until it was complete.
TheSteamGamer1080 yeah every game out recently had a beta stage but the game was released broken. theres no telling what will happen until release day. beta or not it still launches with problems.
Really nice footage. but what bothers me most is the fact that the planets and distances look waay to small in scale.
+Claudio Sipka you should just keep playing fallout then
+Claudio Sipka On top of that, the planets are massive.
+Claudio Sipka I noticed that when flying through a planets atmosphere, it looks small, but when you land and walk around, it's gigantic!
+Claudio Sipka Sean Murray has stated on several occasions that he was talked into having planets being closer together than in "real life" for a couple of reasons: 1) Since his design for this game is to re-create Sci-Fi book covers and movies and such, there are always large, crescent planets and moons above the horizon; 2) Gameplay - there's a fine line when it comes to deciding on how far apart things are and considering keeping boredom at bay, it's decided that keeping "travel distances" to a reasonably short distance. Sean has said ALL decisions for this game revolve around re-creating Sci-fi and adding to fun of the gameplay.
+Claudio Sipka I think most of the planets the team have showed off have been small scale due to possible pop-in issues. In the final game most of the planets will be far larger.
This video still gives me chills when you go through the galaxy map and ive been playing since launch 🚀
Very ambitious. I think that even if it turned out to be a commercial failure, it'll inspire the industry and be a worthwhile venture based on that alone.
Adrian oh god...

ReVo It's too late. The game is basically dead at this point.
Fhagersson
Not really, they've sold a lot of copies since the updates. there are over 30,000 unique players every week. more than some AAA games after a year. and more will follow with updates.
Please, make another version of NMS with those aesthetics, THIS is perfect NMS. Without bases, without online, without annoying quests.
that last planet, so beautiful, its almost hypnotizing, first i was very skeptical about this game, but the more i see the more exited i become!
There's 18 quintillion planets, how can you not be exited😁😆😄
+Dylan Worth Now there's 31 sextillion 31,500,000,000,000,000,000,000 although it wouldn't matter because we would never explore the whole game anyways.
+Connor Read you for real. im just wondering how im going to run this game.
They fucking made it look like it had multiplayer
Not really. It was obvious those were NPC and Sean always said it's not a multiplayer game. It's just possible but unlikely that you will meet another player.
Redstar2613 He said it was multiplayer. He just changed it
No, two streamers just tried it. They confirmed they were on the same planet, same station, and same exact spot. You can't see each other or interact with each other. It was even a different time of day and weather.
***** Bullshit. They showed a fully done game but it was all scripted
For one, it is proven these trailers are indeed lies, and one simple fact that proves it so is that there are desert/sand planets in the trailers and "gameplay" videos, and yet, they are nowhere to be seen in the final game. That alone is proof enough that this stuff isn't just "the best RNG planet that they found," because they literally showed a planet type that's not in the game.
And they did act like it was going to be an exploration game, meant for people who just want to take a load off and enjoy some sights and sounds, and adding some survival elements to prevent it from getting to stale. However, with how fast your power runs out, and how little materials you can hold, you don't even really get the time to explore for long periods of time without scrambling for more resources.
If there was one trailer with a real red flag other then “too good to be true” it would be this one, because this one was a gameplay trailer and to this day I’m still unsure about parts of it, and I think this should have been looked at with more scrutiny in the past, just think about this.
He flies straight to a trading post without anything resembling a map marker or an indicator it was there.
When he gets there a transaction happens automatically without any player input at all, heridium leaves, and he gets units. How did this happen?!? The most logical explanation would be that this was a delivery, but at the time Hello Games didn’t just not have a mission board, but it was said in an interview that a system like that probably wouldn’t be in the game. Besides it couldn’t be a mission without a marker for the delivery point clearly shown. The game just played itself in this trailer, and it was clearly authored.
I love this game in the state it is now, but this trailer has bothered me for years.
I am so deeply amazed with how incredible this game looks! The creature design looks like it was a lot of fun to make, not to mention the awe-inspireing landscape development and seamless take off and landing visuals must have taken a great deal time and research. Its just so incredible that the small staff at HelloGames was able to put together such a uniquely complex exploitative simulation game. Definitely looking forward to playing this one!
TWO VIDEOS! WHAT IS THIS MADNESS!
Great job HelloGames :D I can't wait to play this game... but I still have some questions about the game:
1. Will you be able to land ANYWHERE on ANY planet?
2. When will this game be released?
3. Will the game have some kind of subscription/fee? (It looks like it is an MMO and the servers are probably going to cost alot)
4. Will you be able to build some kind of base for you and your friends?
5. On a scale from 1 to Shaquille O’Neal how big is the whole map? :D
I CAN'T WAIT! :D
I can answer some for you:
1) Yes you can land anywhere on any planet you discover. The planets are massive and procedurally generated so even the developers don't know what will be on them.
2) They haven't set a date. But they've set a target for themselves to reach.
3) they've said nothing about subscriptions, but they have said this isn't really an MMO. They've said the universe is so big that it's unlikely you'd ever meet anybody, however it's possible. I personally wouldn't expect a subscription fee.
4) don't know. They need to show more on core gameplay
5) Shaq. Like you have never seen before. Because it's procedurally generated instead of hand crafted, it's the maths which allow such a big universe to be generated. Much like how minecraft can generate such huge maps. Every star you see in the sky, you can travel to and explore it.
Wow thank you for your detailed answer. This game just looks sooo amazing and I hope HelloGames releases more gameplay in the next couple of days :D
BennooBeatsFOOD the game contains over 600.000.000.000.000 star systems which contains 2 to 33 planets so yeah.... its as big as it gets
and seeing on the already discovered planet in this game there is a landing platform which i quess is builded
TheJackalPhantom by the looks of the landing platform you use it to set up a trade base of sorts and it generates money for you least that's how it looked
Based on speculation and stuff, it will probably be released before e3 2015.... They said "Next time we show the game, it will be released".... and e3 is most likely the next time that they would show it... so yea
My goodness I have only dreamed of a game like this, finally someone is making it,and it looks fab.!

Do you still play NMS?? Just curious.
@@johnbergstrom7045 I do.
Please keep the focus on pure exploration :D Make sure the procedural generation works perfectly and don't waste too much development effort in traditional game mechanics like combat/trading/crafting/politics etc.
If you want traditional space sim gameplay there are better (also finished) games for that. No Man's Sky is about exploring the infinite universe with endless new environments, it's not for everyone. But for players like me who craves the unknown and the feeling of refreshment it would be absolutely amazing!
Whilst I like exploring, I will point out that without some sort of player progression, the game would get boring after a short while. you need a goal (most people do, anyway) so there's resources on the planets, you gather them, you trade them or craft them into upgrades so you can do more thing and do those things better and look better. You may only very rarely meet other people but you'll definitely use the warp to meet up with friends. once you do that, you'll want to be able to distinguish each-other and your ships, have races, set yourselves goals as a team or to compete. You'll also want other ai to populate the universe since real players can't populate a full universe very well - they'll give you more to do, more chances of random instances and interesting things to discover whilst traveling through the vacuum of space. They may be hostile, they may be friendly, but either way, you'll feel the need to not be lonely.
This game would be fucking insane with the Oculus Rift.
You’re about 5 years to early
In my honest opinion, Im more hyped for this than for Star Citizen. Why?
Because when a game raises over 60 million dollars, theres no way they are not gonna sell out. I mean, 40 bucks for ONE space ship? Cmon.
Also I prefer this games artstyle.
It would be even better if you could meet actual civilizations though! Like us humans, who havent ventured beyond the moon yet!
At 3:41 Simply insane how not only are the sound of these creatures procedurally generated as well, but the variety of sounds that can be heard all at once are just staggering. What an amazing break-through in technology! Simply beautiful, no doubt that Hello Games will go down in history as one of the most innovative developers.
+MrShawno1231 Could be the next minecraft.
Now that I think about it, this game is like Minecraft in space, except with really updated graphics and technology. That isn't a bad thing though.

So... yeah... but what do you do beside flying from planet to planet, landing, looking around and flying further ?
If that's all you could do, id be fine with that. But there is so much more. You can have spaceship battles. You can kill wildlife with your ray gun. Or just chill on a planet. Fly towards the center of the universe to find out.

Dude, 31 sextillion planets! There's 7billion people on earth. No where close to that many people playing the same game, on the same console, at the same time. If you were to put every person playing the game on 1 planet, they would most likely never see each other (unless they are in space ships) You WILL NEVER see a person in a galaxy full of 31,500,900,000,000,000,000,000 planets that are life sized. Never. Never. Never.

I feel like you get to the surface of the planet too quickly... I mean wouldn't it take longer and be a bit bumpier to get to the surface of the planet than say 10 seconds? Especially a planet with a pretty thick atmosphere like earth... I dunno maybe i'm being picky.
+dmbfan07cb I guess they developer did what you described to save in-game time. it wouldnt really be fun having to wait 20 minutes just to land
Wow. This is pretty amazing. I love the music and the style, in general.
My head exploded the first time I saw this game, can't wait.
2:59 They should have the crash screen show up.
I see a blue screen with 2 boxes on my ps4. Its an addon or something ?! Did I found the center of the universe ?
It's a hidden feature.
This game will have soo many potential, its gonna be like the best game ever
love 65daysofstatic!
Is this real or am I just dreaming :)
Yes.
***** Mind blown.
I’m back to hype myself up for BEYOND!
Any hour now :D
Cannot wait.
Nice work!
For some reason I really want to say that I like modern no man sky 2019 era more then the early teaser trailer.
Another Traveler who went back to see early footage! :) The 2019 version still needs better planets though. Streams, rivers, waterfalls, better creature AI, more life, and more diversity to planets.
Also, more variations in ancient ruins and modern buildings.
The game is certainly different from the 2016 trailer game though...
10000000000% agree!
Coolio Star Stache are you agreeing with him or me.
@@aniken6877 I'm agreeing with you
Coolio Star Stache oh
ok actually it's better than Star Citizen xD
+Alex W-W Eh, it'd be a casual version of star citizen. Star Citizen is a graphical marvel, rpg marvel, game world marvel, mechanics marvel, just nails soooo many gameplay expects down on ONE platform. Marvelous game. This? It's good but it has fewer branches to explore. Just more of the same over and over. Like a box of legos.
+Noah Ford Fanboy
+Noah Ford tell me that again when Star Citizen releases 64 years from now. Ill happily be devouring this game in that time.
+Alex W-W hype died
Just callin it like I sees it. This is a casual space explorer. :p
This looks like it has the potential to be something legendary..
This truly shows how massive this amazing game is.
I really hope this could come to the xbox one some day, because I don't think that there will ever be a game like this again.
Lmfao pranked
Never buying another game from these guys.
June 2016... just over 100 days to go!
i was so sad to hear about the flood a while back. I'm so glad to see they've been working through it, i'm anxiously awaiting this game :D
Lies, most of this shit is not in the game.
literally every fucking thing in this video is in the game
+Húginn Mùninn lolo .. its not
+mrsun9775 have you played the game
The ships gauges are completely different as is the crosshair. The HUD is also completely different. Also the video had 3rd party ship interaction set at maximum. ALL of this is NOT in the game. There must be a whole host of other things NOT in the game in this video too. The video is an exposition to sell and boost, generally they are all bullshit by default as well as by design to sukka people in...like it did.
+Húginn Mùninn yes
lol so many lies. :DDDD
I love you guys! This game looks so freaking cool. Hello games ftw!
Ive been waiting for this game patiently:) pleaeaese do a good job 🙌
